  • Quitting the rat race and moving from urban to rural has been the best choice I've ever made. Honest hard work. Loving every moment.
    As always your support and feedback is SO appreciated. The next few weeks of videos will have lots going on, and hopefully this will lead up to a lot of progress for the house and land over the Summer. Hearing your thoughts on things is always a lovely boost and motivation.
    Morrigan's Cottage is a 200 year old traditional stone cottage set in the west of Ireland on just under 4 acres. Originally this house would have been used by the local farmers, rented from their British landlords. Dated back to at least the early 1800s, someone has been consistently living here and farming this land since then, up until about 4 years ago when the house was left vacant by the previous owners.

    It's been a tragic Summer for us too in Co Down. We actually needed to put our heat on at the start of July. I don't think I've ever done that in the 15 years that I've been in this house. It really does make the colder months feel that much more awful when you have a bad Summer. But your garden is looking fantastic. Lee x

    • @morrigans_cottage
      @morrigans_cottage  Місяць тому +2

      Hi Lee ❤️ it is shocking how bad a summer we’ve had, I just feel in my bones that we deserve a couple weeks of 20 degrees, like not even 30 just a few weeks of 20 😂 I also put the heating on in my parents house a few times because it’s just been so chilly! I’m still hoping we might get a last blast of good weather before winter arrives 🥲 hope you have a lovely weekend ❤️

    The only ones that thrived in our wet and cold summer were the slugs and snails😂. One day, I planted out some super healthy broccoli seedlings and next day they were gone, not even stalks left. I was like an eegit, scratching my head and walking up and down looking for them, cue trip to supermarket to buy fresh broccoli to cheer me up😂. At least the birds had lots of slug buffets🐦‍⬛. Furry hugs to you ladies.

    The beautiful Irish weather makes me think you need a boot room so you don't have to take wet muddy clothes and boots into the house. Maybe in the distant future you could have an outside door into the creepy room and leave them there.

    My husband bought a thing that you use propane for,it burns the weeds,so easy and fast. Just use common sense when using it and follow directions 😊,I’m sorry I can’t think of the actual name for it. You work so hard and I think that piece of equipment would help.
