Slipknot is one of the highest rated heavy metal bands. They are definitely one of the highest paid bands and they get the most fans to their live shows.
I went to one while underage and it was at a hotel so my father was forced to come. He left talking about how crazy the energy was and he said "I don't like heavy metal but that was an amazing show"
For a metal band, I find them the best. I've been to Slipknot concerts, and no other concert I've been to can ever compete with the amount of energy they have on the stage.
Joey wasn't the drummer for Killpop, that was Jay Weinberg, who is amazing in his own right. I love him AND Joey, and consider them both the drummer of Slipknot.
The drummer is Jay Weinberg. His dad is Max Weinberg. Max is the drummer for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band. So he had a great teacher. Check out Jay's video on UA-cam Jay Weinberg Set the Tone (Performance). You'll be air drum champ before you know it!!
Tj Hodgetts it’s everyone’s opinion on #1 band but I’d have to say Slipknot is better in consistency on good music than Metallica tho these are my 2 favorite bands
Last thing, the drummer in the killpop video was a baby when this band started. A true story of someone living their dream to play in one of the worlds biggest bands.
@@chaos5840 Agree Vermillion part 1 is one of their best songs. Just a heads up. the music video was shortened for TV. I would recommend a live version.
In 7th grade we had to choose a song and write a paper about the meaning of it or how we perceived it and play it for the class. I did mine on Vermillion part 1 and when I said I was doing a Slipknot song just about everyones face was like oh god not this shit but once I played it nobody had a problem with it, assuming most didn't know they had any softer songs... meaning is still kinda fucked
Slipknot does have some quite talented members and I enjoy their music. That being said most metalheads don't hold them in very high esteem due to their simplicity and mainstream sound on some albums.
@@sebastianmortimer6389 Yeah i see that, i got respect for them doing their thing musically tho, I personally don'tcare for much of their later albums myself either. Early Slipknot=Best, However one of the big reasons I will always consider them top teir is the exposure they've brought to metal. Alot of there stuff can be seen as a gateway to the world and for that I cant hate. Plus on a personal level they are really good people as well which helps reflect well on the metal community as a whole. So I nod my head in respect always
I watched before I forget live. I just stood and stared the energy, their chemistry, it was all so mesmerizing that I had to snap me and my friends out of staring because we were all in a trance like state
You got my sub bro, anyone who opens theirselves to this kind of heavy music,is deserving of said respect,i could listen to slipknot and tupac all day everyday and never feel more metal or more gangster, great vid man
Slipknot is diffidently top 10 of my metal bands. Listen to them ever since I was 13 years old, I'm 27 now. Diffidently had a huge impact in my life. Also R.I.P Paul Grey. ( Bassist for Slipknot )
KORN - TWISTED TRANSISTOR (features Snoop Dogg, DMX, Lil Jon and David Banner. Best shit you'll see this year!) KORN - FALLING AWAY FROM ME KORN - HERE TO STAY. That's an ace triple decker video for you right there. I shit you not bro! Keep it going ✌
Slipknots in the pantheon of metal. They’re not even my favorite or anything, but they’ve earned it with their contributions to music and years of success writing music their own way.
Slipknot will always be my favorite in the rock genre. I listen to mostly hip hop nowadays but I was a metal head all thru school and Slipknot helped me thru.
A live track to check out. Spit it out live at download 2009 you'll love this one. I had the privilege of being there the energy is unbelievable and they way Corey is with the crowd is second to none ♥
I'm with Dyzzy, I've seen them a few times and they are almost beyond words!!! I saw them with Disturbed and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to....
One member named Sid (the one on the turn tables) is known for climbing up on the stage high points and jumping into the crowd. During one show he fell and broke not one but both heels. Sid crawled and limped back on stage and finished the show with the help of a stool to sit on. This is all on video, easily found on UA-cam. Sid finished the tour from a motorized chair.
Elite is the word bro. There’s a reason they are in my Top 3 Favorite bands. So much influence on me throughout my life since 1999. Seen them 6 times live going all the way back to 2000. I’m proud to call myself a maggot. I’m telling you, go to a show, it will change your life. I really enjoy seeing you head-banging and showing much respect. They deserve it. Read up on them sometime. Their story is very unique and tragic. Keep the Slipknot coming!
Back in the '90s, when they were still playing clubs, I had tickets to see them in Pensacola, Florida. The show was cancelled that afternoon because three of the guys were hospitalized from exhaustion and dehydration (presumably because of the masks and jumpsuits). It even made the local news. They've come back many times since then. Great post. Cheers.
I'm not a big Slipknot fan.. However, they are top tier and have been for 20 years! They have always had their own sound, I can recognize a Slipknot song easily. I think they are the best at what they do...
In the video for "Before I forget" it was the first time they had been on camera with no masks (sort of..Corey Taylor and Jim Root were in Stone Sour, but Stone Sour was still relatively unknown at the time), so that's why they don't actually show their faces. I remember when the video came out people were freaking out about it. Not too long after a few photos got leaked and then they just kinda gave up the whole hide their faces thing..except Craig.
the download 2009 show full concert is the greatest thing to ever watch ...plus corey tayler is also the lead singer of stone sour ...believe it or not
Everybody saying you should watch Spit It Out live at Download 2009 but I think you should watch Spit It Out live in Mexico. It was their first time in Mexico, the crowd gave all they got.
Slipknot out here showing what Iowans can do! Iowa birthed the computer and Slipknot but all we got is a ridiculous amount of corn/beans..... literally everywhere.
A lot of metal fans like to diss Killpop, but I love it when Slipknot plays their softer side, like Snuff, Vermillion Pt. 2, and Killpop. It shows another aspect of their talent, another card in their deck, and it's one that they do SO well.
It was not until I watched a video of Slipknot performing live that I liked them. I never gave them a second look. When I saw psychosocial live, I was awakened. I'm mean really? Nine guys on stage losing their minds and playing at that level.. OMFG
Same with me. I always past up on their music but when I started getting into youtube and saw some of the concerts I was automatically hooked and became a fan.
man i usually don't like reaction videos but THIS is how you do one, with insight and actual opinions rather than just saying nothing. and slipknot! what's not to love here
I can't speak for the drummer of Slipknot but as a drummer myself I can say that most "fills" are off the top of our head. I very rarely do the same fill twice unless it sounds PERFECT for the song I'm doing. Drummers have alot of free reign to make up shit during musical transitions to fill the space. It's like a really short version of a guitar solo after every couple measures haha
Definitely top tier, I personally have them in my top 5 all time metal bands. Their track list is just perfect for aggressively letting out frustrations with status quo, relationships, working your life away, going against negative cultural norms. I generally like to seperate bands in sub genres, especially since comparing 2 bands both labeled as metal can be very different in terms of the experience you have listening to them, Slipknot is one of those that breaks that idea, because across their albums they have a wide range of sounds and topics that could fit them into many metal sub genres.
Not every body digs or respects the energy. Corey (singer) is ridiculously talented. Check out his other band Stone Sour( he sings there too). Bother, Get inside, Through The Glass. You'll be amazed.
I'm old old school metal head and I say Slipknot is a top tier band. They can play their shit live and have their own sound and style.
Your appreciation for Slipknot has earned you my subscription. Thank you for enjoying them with all of us
record label: "time for you guys to do a video without masks"

Slipknot is one of the highest rated heavy metal bands. They are definitely one of the highest paid bands and they get the most fans to their live shows.
I’ve been to 5 Slipknot concerts and I have never been to any other concert that’s energy is anywhere close to what they have
Big facts.

Yeah, obviously you never saw rage against the machine live

My favorite band of allllll time ❤
If you do Slipknot live you HAVE to check out Spit It Out live at download 2009. Crowd goes crazy!
I'm my opinion, the album version is better
Favorite song from them.
Saw Slipknot for the 9th time last month and took my non metal head friend and he said they were crazy good and wants to go see them again!
This verson of *Wait and Bleed* its the "clean" one, you should listen to the original version with the screams.
Yeah I have the original release that has purity on it and it’s much heavier cause it doesn’t have the clean vocals
Is it on the deluxe version of the album? The demo version?
David Martinez it’s on the normal album, the demo and remix is on the 10 year anniversary edition , the one he’s reacting to is the radio version
Well he was reacting to the MV, which only has the clean version.
I've seen slipknot 15 times and I love them there a life style if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be here.
They’re considered an elite metal band. Probably one of the best to have ever done it.
The drummer is Joey Jordison. One of the best metal drummers ever.
