They way you talk to each other is beautiful. What a special relationship you have. Kate you comment of “I just love little things” made me smile. Me too.
I'm in the U.S. and your lime green bath set went in the Fisher-Price dollhouses from around 1968. There was a blue Colonial house and then a few years later a Tudor style came out.
I was wondering if the bright colours were from the 50s & 60s? The green bathroom set could have been a similar age or between the wars. You could make a fancy out house like we had 😅 concrete slab two small rooms (one laundry, one bathroom/toilet) over time the paving squares were replaced with concrete & a tin roof so you didn't get wet in winter.🇦🇺😊♥️👋
I sent UA-cam a nasty message letting them know I didn't appreciate them shutting your comments off and what lovely people you are. HOW DARE THEY!! I'm glad they turned them back on!! I loved the video!! So much fun seeing the items that will go into the doll houses!! Thank you for sharing!! ❤❤❤
The red table would look nice in the garden and you could paint the green part of the phone black and it would be black and red or you could paint it all black.
Hello! Just discovered your videos and they are very fun. The bathroom set is vintage Fisher Price which has been popular in the U.S. for about 70 years. You could probably sell them and make your money back and then some.😊
There is a blue chair that goes with the red table along with the red yellow and green chairs I still have them. I love love love your channels enjoying binge watching.
Mangles are known as wringers in some areas of America and were fairly common into the 50’s. Thrift stores are run to benefit charities for the most part; consignment shops are places where people resell their clothing and other items through a small business.
My Grandmother had one here in Australia. I remember her telling me that it was called a Mangle because that is what would happen to my fingers if I played around with it.
Most of the 16th scale I find is Lundby or Tri-ang, which is nearly all vintage. (Lundby is still around, but no where near what it was in the 80's and earlier.) The only modern one which I find still being manufactured and easy to get hold of is Sylvanian families and that is all plastic, so any 16th scale that you can find and is still in good condition is precious. 24th scale isn't that easy to find now, either.
I love these unboxing videos! It is so exciting to see what you have added to your collection and your obvious joy at what you discover is such a delight! Honestly, these dolls house videos soothe the soul. Thank you so much.
Took my dolls house to a charity shop as when I moved I didn't have room for it 😢 once a month they do a charity auction which they decided to take the dolls house fully furnished with electric ect they got £150 which made parting with worthwhile 😊
To quote you Fleur, NICE, an excellent mix of furniture. Choice items were the writing bureau, the fireplaces and that radio, I (Sue) have the real thing which I picked up in a seconds shop in London in the 60s for 5 pounds.
Hi ! I"m still waiting to see real retro dollhouse ( from 70' ) to come. I know you can make it. Maybe orange, dark green and brown will be The colours ...
the 2 red arm chairs look very 50s. when I was 5 my mom washed our families clothing with a mangle & a round open top washing machine. the dryer was a clothes line strung across the ceiling. now she uses machines with digital controls linked to her phone!
I can’t believe you got all of that for $10! What a good deal, and what treasures! I recently ordered some miniatures from Temu, and got some cute things. I know you prefer old vintage miniatures, though. My very first miniature was a tiny vintage pewter serving dish I found in an antique store while shopping with my Nana when I was 9 years old. I was hooked! I had a doll house and shadow boxes where I collected miniatures into my teens. I recently got my childhood doll house down from my Mom’s attic. I am going to re-do it as a modern farmhouse! ❤ Love your channel!
Its always exciting to watch you open a box of miniature things. There was a good assortment in that box for £10. Fleur did you get your birthday present? Stay safe you two. Love to all.
Ah! Came back to watch this again and am so happy to see they've turned the comments on! I loved the video and watching your joy at opening it! I'm really looking forward to seeing the new projects! kindest regards, k
I used to try using the mangle to help my mum, she didn't really appreciate it because she was scared I'd get caught in it. It was in the back garden next to the coal bunker, which was my fort also sometimes my pirate ship . We still had a outside khazi in the sixties, we'd whistle loudly to let people know we were in there and not get caught with our Alan Wickers around our ankles.
I wish so thrilled to find your channel in my recommendations. You ladies are an absolute Joy. I'm from Vancouver Canada and because we really are generally a newer country and sadly very disposable this lovely box really is filled with treasures. I simply love the age in the handcrafted look to a lot of these pieces. Definitely worth 10 p in my eyes.😊❤
In 1999 there was a TV series (seen on your Channel 4, I think) called "The 1900 House" where a modern family had the opportunity to live in an absolutely accurate Late Victorian English home. The bathtub was in the house but a flushing toilet, much like the one you unboxed, was placed in an outbuilding in the backyard. They said this was common during that time and viewed as more sanitary even though there was water inside the home. The series is no longer found on UA-cam (I checked) but I did find this brief promo clip. Maybe one of your older doll's houses could have an outdoor loo one day? ua-cam.com/video/FJTURcrQTVE/v-deo.html
I remember that series! It was where we all first met that lovely historian lady who seems to have her hair haphazardly piled on top of her head! The one whom now features in quite a lot of Daily life in.....' series.
Good haul. Lots of the wooden furniture we used to have as children in our doll's house, The Barton Model Home kit. We also had the mangle ! Bluebox was the make of my Home Farm set as a child - the cheaper, smaller alternative to Britain's. Lovely bit of nostalgia, thank you. 🙂
I watched yesterday but comments were turned off😑😫. So i checked back today, yay they are on. I had wanted to tell you how great this unboxing was. I wondered if the scale is correct for the latest doll house you just purchased? I think the radio and the telephone ( if painted black) would be perfect for the living room. Looked very 30s to 40s era to me.Loved so much of the furniture, especially the dresser and the vanity table and bench. What a bargain you made. Hugs to Sunny cat.
Have just watched kitchen episode again after watching this, and tried placing some of your new furniture in, defiantly think one of you new table would look great along with the high chair.. 😊
I just opened a box of minis that I bought from ebay. It's always an exciting time!!! Y'all really got some neat goodies in this box! It's always a joy to watch y'all. 🙂
The tomato red and white hutch/dresser, rectangular tables and white chairs are by Barton c 1960-70s. Two chairs per table. I still have a few pieces from childhood. Nice finds!
It's so fun watching you both unbox your goodies! Wondering what treasures you might find! So funny when Kate said no peeking and then she kept looking! Can't wait to see your finds in the dollhouse and your next video!
I'd always wanted a dollhouse so when my lil girl was old enough, I fixed one up for her but she wouldn't let me arrange it how I wanted it. Lol! I ended up getting my own and now have 6 lil houses. 😂
Hi, Kate is such a lucky young woman, it seems most of the available dolls furniture is wholly suitable for her project. Also lucky in having such a supportive and generous mum. Hey Fleur I'm certain the next unboxing will be exactly what you require for your projects. Exciting times ladies 😊. Looking forward to seeing what you do with these treasures in your next video and what projects you have in store for us . Have a great week. 🤗
This was a wonderful buy! Just the Doll Toi pieces were worth finding. I love the wood cabinets. I think the little tray would work on a bed as a meal tray for a doll that is unwell, or for a Mother's Day tray when once a year the mother gets to relax.

Watching it now and the comments are on. I didn’t do anything to make it that way. I have actually seen this on other peoples videos where it will show that the comments are off and then suddenly they are back on.
I never mentioned it because it's not really important, but the extra bit on the telephone was an extra earpiece: people used to be able to listen in on a conversation (we used to do that often, as family didn't all live in one place, so one person would talk and the other one would hold the earpiece to their own ear so they could hear all the news and not miss anything... That was back I guess in the early 70s they still had those (and before then, of course! ... but prior to that, not many people had phones in their home - at least not in Scotland: if you wanted to received a phone call, you'd agree a time with the caller, and then go and wait for the call at the local phone booth!!!)
Is this so? As late as the early ‘70’s you say? I’m surprised… learn something new every day. I’m in the rural USA (New Hampshire) & these added earpieces were in use until the mid 1960’s & then faded out of use when rotary dial phone tech came in… this eliminated the need for local phone companies with human switchboard operators… customers just installed multiple phones in the house & another person only needed to pick up the receiver & talk or listen into it…
They way you talk to each other is beautiful. What a special relationship you have. Kate you comment of “I just love little things” made me smile. Me too.
