I watched this movie for the first time a few weeks ago...and people will say ok...I started firefighting in 1985 ..as a 50 year old I cried ... These guys gave it all
These women have a bond that will never be broken . God Bless their brave hero husbands . I pray that Arizona takes care of these widows and those children .
I can’t imagine being a wife or ones with children. These men were so brave. It broke my heart but took a piece of their loved ones hearts. Gone but not forgotten. 🙏🏻
Real men right there....legends...God bless all of them and there families. As a young man i look up to these guys as true heros. Glad they made a movie to honor them because they completely deserved it.
Have been a firefighter on the job four 18 years outside of Phx, and a resident of Prescott Valley for 4 years. Cannot read the book or see the movie without becoming emotional and crying. God Bless my fellow brothers and I hope everyone takes the time to remember them so they don't vanish in peoples hearts.
I thought the film was an amazing tribute to the men who fought and lost their lives. A day later after watching the movie and I am still touched by it.
I'm a seven year firefighter and 5 year EMT, I came a long way from Being a young man rookie in 2013 now I'm a 30 year old firefighter and EMT in this day in age of covid, I'm remember in 2013 I got down on one knee with 20 fire veterans in Utah paying our respects to our fallen brothers so far away. I was a rookie in 2013 when this happened, now I'm a mature full fetch firefighter and EMT in 2022, I came a long way to become someone now.
I live in Arizona and during all baseball and basketball games they had a moment of silence for each and everyone person who risked/lost there life saving Yarnell. I go to a sleep away camp near Yarnell every summer and part of the camp burnt down in the fire. Everyone in Arizona was aware and sent prayers to all of the family’s of the fire fighters. dead, or alive.
RIP Sean Misner. You will be missed by your family and friends. My sister was actually friends with him in High school, so we knew him and his family. His wife was seven months pregnant when he died. I saw the movie with my mom and dad, and my mom sobbed at the part when they died.
I once told my wife I was going to join up to the army or navy. Maybe become a real Oath keeper. She said no What happens if you Parish. I never truly understood what she was so afraid of I mean we all die sometime. I understand now. I am forever sorry for you brave souls. You saved a lot. True Guardians. 🙌🏻👩🏻🚒
My heart goes out to you all, I was at a fire that claimed the life of just two brothers and it’s been Ofer twenty years and I still loose it telling the story….God bless you all…
Sorry to hear of your loss. It is always tragic for a parent to bury a child. Thank you Kathy for your support of my fellow firefighters. Wish our fire shelters could be made thicker and stronger to withstand higher fire/heat temperatures.
It's an old interview they've brought out again because of the movie. Note how the movie isn't mentioned at all either to or by the women. This interview was from 2014, the year after the fire.
May God provide intellectual, physical and spiritual power and strength to the fire fighter department team-the fire fighter officers, vehicle maintenance group, call center team n overall team. May God empower and bless you all and ur family for the noble work of saving lives while risking one's life and forest fire safety through fire helicopters. Salute to every firefighter!! Amen!!........
I woke up at 3:40AM from nightmare after watched 'only the brave' movie lastnight. In my dream i felt as if i was under the shelter and the fire is coming. It was really scary and i woke up almost crying 😭
Anyone with any sense or that actually matter know exactly how descent and honorable these men were. Not every male human can live a man’s life and fulfill his duties in the manner these men did. I had a father but he wasn’t active in my life until his death when I was 15. The tragedies to your children will not gender them. It will make them better. It did for me.
This is so sad and tragic. On the side...I think they mixed the clips of the babies...when they were talking about the boy, the baby they showed, was wearing pink. When they were talking about the girl, the baby was wearing blue. Now, I let my daughters wear my nephew's hand-me-downs, so I have no problem with that. In this case, though, I think they were trying to differentiate the two and goofed. Going to look for the movie. Continued prayers for their families.
Puedes Pasar Tu pac not selfish, at least I know I'm no where ready for kids. Feel bad they have to lose a parent. I can live on but I can't be strong enough to see kids suffer.
Puedes Pasar Tu pac selfish would be wanting kids knowing the disasters and wars and political unrest in the world right now and wanting to bring a baby to suffer. Adopt if you want or cant instead of a baby. I dont want kids because i prefer my veterinary career and school over having children with someone who cannot procreate with me anyways. Ps i am gay. Starting a family with another man is out of the question, a fur family is a decision i made to have with or without a man.
Some say they weren’t even supposed to be in that area? That they had left the safe spot.. any truth to that? Also one of the fire fighters had blunt force trauma to the head… some speculated perhaps one of them fell and was hurt bad? Guess it doesn’t matter at this point years later. Just curious if this was a error on their captains part to move them out of of the area they were in, and into more dangerous surroundings?
Actually that movie lies they blamed it on the air attack when it was not the air attacks fault. My dad was super close to thoes men he was a hotshot him self for 5 years and now runs the dispatch office for the forest service he was extremely mad that they put fake facts into that movie
Noah Walther uhhhhh no they did not blame it on the air attack, yes the air attack screwed up in the movie, and does in real life, but it made it clear it was the fire, I never heard about it when I first saw but even I could tell, my dad who is on the structural side could tell.
yeah my dad basically ran that fire he sent out all the crews and air attacks. he runs the dispatch center for the forest service so he knew everything that happen.
I watched this movie for the first time a few weeks ago...and people will say ok...I started firefighting in 1985 ..as a 50 year old I cried ... These guys gave it all

TheRossillini they were young men too, maybe not the sup or the squad boss
They didn't make a movie to honor them. They made a movie to make lots of money with an inaccurate depiction of a tragedy.
@@notsure7939 why
Bless their hearts .. just saw the movie today .. didn’t know it was a true story
Didnt know it was real. Even tho it said based of a true story... ok

As a firefighter of 8 years service this movie was the hardest to watch for it brought back memories of fire calls I’ve responded to

I walked in their shoes in the movie and still don’t believe their gone I don’t know them but I miss them. RIP.
We were on a Firefighting duty when we heard about them,.. the whole camp was quiet. .as we came in,May they Rest in Peace!
Not even the “BIG SCREEN” can fill these shoes!
At least they died as true heroes. They should be remembered and honored.
As a firefighter in the private fire service sector in the UK, rest in peace Granite Mountain Hotshots
if anything, those two fathers got to hold their children first.
rest easy, brothers.
Broke my heart 😭
Rest in peace brave men
Strong women and I pray for them all daily since watching the movie. It broke my heart to watch it.
They will be remembered forever.
Such Heros but so heartbreaking at the same time.
I couldn't imagine
Imagine losing your husband and then having to relive it while watching the movie.
Our small army will never be forgotten, or the love ones left behind.
This movie is amazing tribute to those men , i cried so much . ❤
It's a shame that the box office for this masterpiece movie hasn't been successful.

If the women were pregnant back in 2013 why do the children only look a few months old? Wtf?
That was a picture of them with their husband I believe or for the women who were pregnant weren't that far along at that time
It's an old interview they've brought out again because of the movie. Note how the movie isn't mentioned at all either to or by the women. This interview was from 2014, the year after the fire.

That day they indeed became men, but alot of them were so young and had their whole lives ahead of them. Very sad.
I ask myself everyday why God let those things happen, it seems like we're abandoned !

To those who died saving lives 🍺 we honor u
Only the brave was not a tribute. It was just a Hollywood money grab. These families got nothing.
So sad, they wanted so much to be hotshots, and on their first fire as hotshots they died, and lost their family
Well day ruined. Thank you ladies for sharing yourselves.

Yes that's awful But how come the fortmurry in Canada was not even mentioned because it's still going right now but under control
Ryelynn_ Marie cause that’s in Canada, and this is the U.S what happens there doesn’t affects us in the Fire sense.
