If you think you're gonna get away with not filming your future gigs, you got another thing coming big man!
That insane silent buildup to the intro to "Happy Birthday" was the most intense thing I've seen on a YT vid in years. XD \m/ \m/
Right? His face said it all, plus I didn't even think my audio was on
Please upload more content of yourself, especially if you prefer it. No matter what you prefer to do there will always be plenty of us here to watch.
9:04 that wait for the guest of honor was tense! lmao
Man, you really have some serious jazz drumming skills. Respect! 🙏
I bet after all those metal videos Miller is playing and thinking "maybe I can try to sneak a blast beat in here..." lol great playing dude!
I am pumped for a garret miller style gig vlog, hell yeah
I think I speak for all of us that we want a jazz drummer reacts to Garrett Miller.
I wish more people hear what I hear. The value of the space between the notes. The groove. The left foot.
This was fun! Was waiting for you to go "hey, have you heard of this guy Nils Dominator Fjellström? He plays like this..." though 😂
lol I don't even know who that is but that made me giggle quite a bit. Imagined him doing that
BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAAAA
Even though I mostly listen to metal music, I really enjoy this stuff.
Also, 14:52 - that was really tasty drum fill :D
Cheers from Poland!
i've been watching you for over a year and i just have to say... i'm not the type of person that tells personal stuff to strangers... i'm not even the type of person to comment on youtube videos usually but... one of my closest friends passed away a week ago. he was the drummer in my very first band, which we started in highschool. and something about this just brought me to tears. maybe it's because you're so humble, you're back to doing what you love, the fact that you played for an 85 y/o mans surprise birthday, or maybe drums in any capacity are just going to remind me of my friend for a long time... whatever the case, please keep doing what you're doing, and thank you so much for sharing and letting us into your life. pls forgive my overshare
Don't apologize for "oversharing". I hope you are well.
Sorry for your loss. Don't worry about any oversharing. Everyone has a story to tell.
I think you do this a lot
God bless.
It's not oversharing, simply stating facts.
Life is real
My best friend and high-school-band bassist passed away in 2019. I feel the pain man. Hard to think of bass or music at all without remembering how foundational he was to my growth as a person and musician. You'll always have good memories and music to remind you of him. Stay strong bro
More of these videos please 👍👌
When in that stick bag situation, roll sticks in a small towel and store it in the cymbal bag. Now you have a small towel with you! BAM!
This video should be attached to every single written definition of a drummers responsibility with in the confines of music. Play to fit the music. Don't overplay, and let the drums carry the beat and melody. Great video. Would love more of these. Cheers
Brother!! Respect and love from the UA-cam metal crowd. So happy that you have your job back. Now I would like to see a channel where metal drummers play jazz
Great video! I so recognized the tense joy while waiting on the guest of honor. Your blood was pumping so your sticks were shaking, and then the release when the music starts! It's been so long since I've played live that I'd forgotten all about that, but now I remember it again :^) I have a few gigs in the not so distant future, so that's going to be exciting. The first in more than twenty years ...
So glad to see you enjoy yourself! More of that!
Good luck with the gigs!
@@SeanD313 Thanks! Appreciate that!
Glad you were able to share this with us. Makes me enthusiastic for the return of live music. I've missed going to shows so much over the last year and a half.
Would have loved to have been there, dude. Havent seen any jazz live for 6 years when I was lucky to see a Dixieland jazz group back in the UK
15:55 that subtle switch from the brushes to the sticks was beautiful! you’re killin it man. hope to see more gig vids of you
Nice! I feel more relaxed after watching these tunes.
more gigs please
Love to see you in your element. A true MUSICIAN. Not "just a drummer".
Get back out there my fellow drummer friend I’m about to have my first official gig in over 15 years on June 25th super nervous and excited 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
I watch your reaction videos on metal drummers but I dig the laid back jazzy style brother. Awesome
F**ckin clean brother! I didn't see ANY rust! Very nice!!
dude the moment you did some over-the-knee warm-up I knew. That's "Back to Basics" DVD grip from Weckl hahah much love!
Thanks for sharing!
Super fun watch! Thank you for sharing!
I really like the look of the paint job on your bass peddle, good sir!! Alright time to re-click-it and watch the rest of this!!
More gig videos like this would be great, you sell yourself short as most artists tend to do. It was wonderful to watch you play, you're a lot more entertaining person both musically and personality wise than you give yourself credit for!
Had a gig where I didn't bring a drum rug and the stage for some reason had no rug so my guitarist had to hold his leg in front of my kick drum to keep it from sliding the whole gig lmao
I enjoyed this video a lot Garret! Thanks for sharing... This is a great one to look back on someday.
You gyus sound like the perfect band for a gig like this!
And what a voice she has...!great!
No videos in forever! Hope all is well brother
Man, you're just a likeable dude, of course we want a vlog!
A surprise party for anyone over 80 is a bit of a bold choice.
Super fun video! And DAMN I got the pre-show nerves on your behalf just watching hahaha. Haven’t felt that for a bit cuz covid
11:49 man this is such a calm and relaxing part. i really dig that man. and the cut after that had some really pretty singing from the singer. yeah this is a real tight band you got here, you belong playing with these guys you're a great jazz drummer dude, when you brush you paint a mural and it's cool to see how you feel the tune. cool stuff daddio
That was a really fun watch! Thanks!
Love this video Awesome drumming!!!
I like what I saw here. All band members enjoy a lot playing for other people. This is inspiring stuff!

That was a great gig! Congrats! And your filming was amazing! Such a fluid drumming, nothing else to say. Please keep filming it as you did. Thanks again, cheers!
that was dope.... cracken the ice. Feels good to play live again
Yeah man so nice to see you playin!
This is amazing. A teacher always said to me "the hardest part of playing drums is learning how to play slow. Is very easy to make mistakes if you play slow"
Beautiful playing
That was awesome man. I hope you had a good time jamming.
Good to have ya back brother 🥁🤘
That was great, dude!
We love you man. Thx for this vlog !

Breath of fresh air any time I see you've uploaded something.
Good fun Garrett, more of this. Makes me miss my playing days. Cheers
So happy for you.
The drumming is amazing! Also, the guitarist is incredible!
Glad to see you play again my Man, lovely dynamics and grooves! I can tell you're happy to just be on stage again. Covid has robbed us both the luxury of playing and practicing. Here's to many more sessions!
Really enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing! Loved the editing too, it was smooth. The gig looked like a lot of fun :)
Wow. Just wow. Yeah I absolutely second the Garett Miller Gig Vlog suggestion. Loved the playing of yours. Thank you man for this little insides!!
Your brush skills are hypnotic, man. Smooth af
Nature is healing
1.4k likes 0 dislikes is the craziest I've ever seen
Inb4 jinx
16 hours later, still 0 dislikes, that's respect for his skills right there. I'm imagining all these metal lovers out there watching this suddenly wanting to snap their fingers, but not even knowing why, lol.
Great mouth work throughout!
In a surprise twist, the drummer of Meshuggah is doing a react video to this! But really, I quite enjoyed seeing you play. Really sweet jazz drumming, brother. Thanks for sharing this on your channel.
That was a great video, I love your touch on the drums. There was nothing wrong with the recording, hope to see more videos. I can live vicariously through you, as here in Ireland we won't be back playing live until at least late 2021. Go easy
Nice work..Love it
The brush bit was beautiful, the music so tender. Nice one, buddy.
Great playing btw especially loved the brush playing. Brilliant guitarist too
Greetings from Brazil, man! Nice work! Send some more stuff like that! Sound capture was nice
you look so happy man! great to see. hope to see more reacts to metal songs in the future
That was great. I would absolutely love to see you upload you playing anything. Just some of your personal favorite jams or literally ANYTHING. Also, you HAVE to film your other gigs. What you filmed here was literally perfect, if anything a little short.
Amazing video, man! I really enjoyed it :)
I love it!
Your vocalist has a great voice
Nice brush work.
