I half expected this video to be a breakdown of how Tannis is actually in the process of being a psycho. Bringing up little points like how they did a lot of research on Eridian ruins and would have been exposed to a lot of the weird chemicals/energies that cause people on pandora to become psychos. Or how as she slowly loses her mind she becomes more and more similar to the Shakespeare spouting insane people that inhabit the vast planet. Going around through the initial logs where she is shown slowly losing her sanity living on the desolate wasteland and witness the change of personality as the tragic events pile up. Possibly contributing their twisted rational as a defense mechanism to help stave off the raving lunacy that a psycho has. This idea line might get a bit twisted once bl3 gets introduced with it's various changes in characterization and introduction of certain plot points that would be major spoilers to mention. But I can see the idea, also I may be a tad bit too stony and got lost on a tangent. Hope you have a nice day and get lots of quality loot.
@@rngsmiles3979 honestly sounds like you got half a video already planned out. If you could gather all the logs up, and speak your thoughts on it, I’d be interested in watching it! Unfortunately I’m not really the video essay producing type but I’m always down to watch them! Ps. I wasn’t able to find raw footage of just the logs with no background noise so that might be hard to find.
I agree with your points, but I think they're mostly pushing she just has a unnamed mental illness instead of something like Krieg. In general though borderlands is full of weird choices and wasted potential. like your tannis theory, claptraps development throughout the games and entire expansions circling back to him just being a joke, tiny Tina starting to become mature but having to revert back to crazy funny blow stuff up girl, characters being shot and replaced with objectively worse, less developed ones, the story past bl 1 2 and tps being really disjointed, then there's *that* happening to tannis which is out of nowhere as much as canonized fan fiction. It's sadly just another case where fan theories and ideas wind up being far more interesting than what's accepted in canon. It's just kinda setup to have infinite games where you have the same goal, any character you like could get shot and replaced with the annoying fan from oblivion, possibly in a different genre spin off
