Those first 8 lines in the second verse of Babe Ruth are actually some of the coolest of ERB in my opinion. Maybe not writing wise, but that build up where he gets more intense then just is like yelling, it's pretty dope.
one opportunity the threw out the window is the "I beat cancer I can sure as hell crack you" line cause Lance beat cancer...Ruth died to cancer! How did they miss this!? It was right there!
I love watching Skeem rage at a point that just keeps getting insinuated about a dozen times XD
This is what I found :
Details are equally scanty about why Ruth was sent at the age of seven to St. Mary's Industrial School for Boys, a reformatory and orphanage. However, according to Julia Ruth Stevens' recount in 1999, because George Sr. was a saloon owner in Baltimore and had given Ruth little supervision growing up, he became a delinquent. Ruth was sent to St. Mary's because George Sr. ran out of ideas to discipline and mentor his son. As an adult, Ruth admitted that as a youth he ran the streets, rarely attended school, and drank beer when his father was not looking. Some accounts say that following a violent incident at his father's saloon, the city authorities decided that this environment was unsuitable for a small child. Ruth entered St. Mary's on June 13, 1902. He was recorded as "incorrigible" and spent much of the next 12 years there.

I thought I remembered doing a book report on Babe Ruth in elementary school and the orphanage thing being true. Terrible book or terrible memory.
Reading a bit about it, it seems Ruth was sent to a "reformatory and orphanage" at age 7. Probably because he was an uncontrollable little shit and the state got involved.

The actually trained line isnt a fat joke, its a lazy joke. Ruth traditionally didnt train much but still hit bangers so imagine what he could have done with effort. It was a diss on all his wasted potential as he coasted by on talent rather than hard work and effort to improve even further. And skeleton wasnt a fat joke it was saying he would die in this fight against armstrong while doing a words scheme that worked with pedaling peleton etc. I think you were really stretching on a few of the lines to make your complaint seem more valid man.

This battle was trash. The beat was ok, but the verses and rhymes were abysmal. Literally only 3-4 unique disses said the entire time, and the problem isn't necessarily that they used the same kind of diss, but they didn't even complicate it by putting in double entendres or any kind of complexity behind it. They were surface level fat jokes, "You Cheated", and "I'm better at this thing", like the complexity of insults housewives on a reality show use to go at each other, not what rappers would use.
This reaction 😂😂😂. I learned, two things from this battle, Babe Ruth was fat and Lance Armstrong cheated 😅😅😅. Would agree not one of my favorites.

To be fair baseball isn't as fun to watch as it was in Babe Ruth's time. Back when people were carrying bats that were longer, heavier, and thicker so there were a lot more hits. Now the bats are thinner, shorter, and relatively lightweight so now home runs depend most on the angle of impact between ball and bat, not on how hard you hit it.

I can admit this battle isn’t the best from the series and one that could be redone to make it better but it still has a “ballsy” ending line that’s one of the few saving graces in this battle. Yeah, I mad a pun involving the ending line. I regret nothing.
