I really like that exhaust manifold look Also where did you get that Rifleman? I love that sculpt. I think the copper could be good for exhaust ports and AC barrels
@@locust_labs5600 Oh! I think Mage Leader shouted out your stuff before. Well Miss Locust, I love your Rifleman, I'll have to buy some of your wares lol
Thanks for the heads up about the box set! I usually go to my FLGS but that set will help a lot with my 40k vehicles. One other color I like is Burnt Iron, worth a look.
These are still the best metallics i've used, no question. If you ever wanna make them look more pristine, prime/basecoat with gloss black before the metallic paint, should look shinier and nicer (which is usually not the objective and is followed by weathering, but hey, the option is there :P )
Rifleman and Crab look very good, the atlas would look better with something else than red as secondary color. the Hunchback looks like its factory new.
What were the primer and wash used? I'm wondering if using a black brown primer would have much affect. Very helpful to see these colors on something other than plastic spoons!
@@MechanicalFrog I just couldn't tell if you were using a gloss black prime on yours. Usually I use Monument Black that's pretty matte. Maybe it was just the light, but your prime looked a little shiny. Wasn't sure how much it mattered with such good coverage.
As he said, brush control is a must but I have had very little issue with the ones I have using a brush. They are plenty thin. Biggest issue I had was the metallic part settling in the medium so I recommend working fast-ish but nothing a quick stir can’t fix
all the tests you do have helped me so much entering the hobby man.
Glad to hear it. Happy hobbying!
@@MechanicalFrog Can the metal varnish be brushed on by hand as well?
@@guyclegg Yep.
I am curious how colored glazes over the silver would look. Potentially giving a larger range of metalic colors.
I'm sure they would work well.
I used Pro Acryl Transparent blue and transparent green mixed together and airbrushed over Metal color Magnesium and it looks great!

Someone named Locust_labs on Twitter designed it and I ran it as a test print.
I made it ;3
Yeah, I use a lot of Locust's stuff. Her IS standaed BA is really nice work.
@@elroyscout I'm digging the Rifleman.

My local shop has these as well as ProAcryl and I feel very spoiled.

Yeah I'm not sure I would do a whole lance in the copper and red.

You'd probably end up with a slightly darker result if you used a dark primer.

It does have a gloss to it, because I accidentally bought it that way. Normally, I'd go with a very matte primer.
What if I don't have a Mac?
how well do they go on with a paint brush?
It's possible to brush with them but you have to be very careful as they will run on you. Lots of brush control.
