Fun fact: The Faroese Islands are believed to first have been settled by Irish monks about 150-200 years before Norwegian vikings discovered the islands and "pillaged them away".
I have ancestors from Scattery and have been there. It is a marvelous destination going way back in time and history. I don't believe vikings were ever there. However I do know that there were peaceful Danes who arrived in Ireland in the 600's. Churchill writes about it in his "Birth of Britain" but even Churchill didn't know what had happened over one hundred years earlier. There is an ancient history between Ireland and Denmark which is gradually being discovered.
