- Today we take a look at my band’s final trip to Boston for the year, and see how I use 7 string guitars on stage while covering pop songs.

Ah yes…when doing what you love becomes work. It’s inevitable. Here’s where you learn how committed you are to your craft.
Anyway, your band sounds great. It’s a blast playing for a room full of people who are enjoying what you do.
I tried a 7 string, and ended up sending it back. Right now my style just doesn’t have a place for that low B string. I’d much rather have a high A. I think there’s plenty of room in the music you play for that kind of instrument.
It fits pretty well for helping bridge the gap between the synth parts and keys, especially in songs without guitar in the master recording. For me it also helps keep the metal head inside happy having those lower register notes.
In terms of Boston, it is just too much work for the pay, and we all mutually agree that we are much happier playing NJ/NY/PA and parts of DE/MD. Especially when these out of state venues don't cover rooms, food, or travel; makes sense to stay closer.
