Really makes this a unique open-world crime game and makes working for money even more rewarding than most other games of it's genre. A bug exclusive to PC version? I don't see that happen at all on PS2 and Wii version. A POV mod can make this happen since you're not supposed to see more than what the dev wants you to see and when you pushed past that barrier it breaks immersion in this case, a tiger spawn and animate in split second for shock value but wide POV broke that trick.

I love this game. I really do. I always have so much fun playing it from time to time; but yeah, there are some missions that are quite annoying and it takes a long time to get all the money you need to 100% the game, but I always end up playing it nonstop for hours, listening to the amazing licensed soundtrack, laughing at Tony's reactions and conversations and overall enjoying every second of it. Still, by rewatching this today, Minimme lit up a fire in me that only would be killed by downloading and playing this game. As I write this, I'm exactly 50% done with the download. But what I desperately wanted to say for years and only in this comment section I felt OK with doing it is: Rockstar got the GTA Online's Mechanic from seeing Scarface's Driver contact. Actually, I feel that Scarface really one-upped GTA and it took Rockstar years and years to implement stuff as NPC chats (RDR2), Wanted system (GTA IV), and many, MANY more things that Scarface did. Really, Scarface is, for me, the GTA IV of PS2. Nice graphics, great immersion, deep characters, a beliveable world, an user-friendlier gameplay... Yeah, Scarface: The World Is Yours is the shit. In a good way. Much love from Brazil!
Honestly this was masterpiece to me back when i played. Probably the most challenging game when you sell dopes and have hard difficulty with gangs and cops. I liked that challenge that not even Rockstar did gave it in their games.
The opening sequence of this video is completely accurate of how this whole game feels, but also, it's like that part in goodfellas where Henry is about to get caught and he's peeping out the windows, and running around, making deliveries, cooking spagetti, cutting dope, like just compounded chaos. Lol. I love it.
If there's any GTA game you should review, it's GOTTA be GTA Vice City Stories. It's really underrated, and so different from a typical gta game especially one from the 2000s
To really enjoy this game, you gotta start slinging the white. You know, the devil's dandruff, the snow, the Columbina marching power, the booger sugar, the mummy's tears, grandma's ashes, Santa's salt, the ringtail lemur, otherwise known as the yeyo.
This is one game that deserves a M rating 100%. I love everything about this game and it is one of the best open world games ever made. The conversations with the people in town are some of the best. Voice work in this game are a massive highlight. Club goer-"Hey tony, you gotta move ya hips, side to side" Tony- "how bout i move my fist, all ova yo face meng" 😂
Finally someone talks about this game, this is one of my favorite games of all time and I honestly think it's underrated and disserves a remaster or even a remake for modern game mechanics. But that will probably never happen sadly 😔
What you said about the game losing itself or veering off halfway through is so true. That's exactly how it was with me. I had fond memories but remembered that I never actually completed the game, because I was just grinding it out on all the money stuff by the middle of it. I remember constantly going to the bank
I finish the game in 3 days and 100% completion in just 4 days in other ways, I complete the distribution mission without failing the mission in just 30 million dollars for all fronts, and I use the fastest vehicle and payout the gang heat reaches to zero before starting the mission. Your point at 16:29 made me think that the police system in this game should have been implemented in Cyberpunk 2077. Just think about it, the police in this game are relentless if you're not able to escape them after a few minutes. That screams "Corpo Cop" to me. Too bad that CD Projekt Red wasn't even creative enough to think of that.

Retconning the final sequence of Scarface into a glorious & triumphant bloodbath for this game's opening scene is such an incredible statement of artistic intent lmao I love it
Funny you mention wanting a game about delivering elicit substances in the tropics. Because for all we know that Contraband game at E3 might be just that.
I remember getting this game straight after I first watched the movie. It was amazing. But like you Mini I never finished it just because it was a grind. I just went back to Vice City for the 42nd time. 🤣
Honestly once you figure out the money system and look at how you purchase stuff, it’s one of the easiest things to finish. Quite satisfying I must say
Nice to see you back, and with a hell of a gem! It had a lot of depth in the crime-empire building meta game even by today's standards. Hell, not even Vice City stories did as good of a job as Scarface!
Always a pleasure to see a new video from you! Never played this game when it came out, but it looks like I would've enjoyed it. A shame open world games can't try a few new approaches these days - this seems significantly less formulaic in some of its mechanics.
Finally a review/video about the game that doesn't completely shit on it. Yes, it's goofy. No, it's nothing like the movie. It was never intended to be. I really enjoyed this game as a teenager, have some great memories surrounding it and still enjoy it as an adult. Great video!
Im surprised that with the love games like godfather and scarface recieved, not more games have gone down the path of open world action/ tycoon sim. its an incredibly immersive combination
@16:53 you are wrong: you cannot send your goons to do missions, you play as them to do missions and earn money for you. Go to the Empire Management screen and then to the Exotics menu and switch your Tony Montana character for 3 other characters: A female assassin dressed as a schoolgirl to do assassination missions, a male brute enforcer to do gang missions and a male driver to do hit n run missions. And the best thing is you don't just send them to do missions, you play as them and complete the missions yourself.

This game is great. IMO there have only been 5 movie based video games that have ever been great. Scarface: The World Is Yours; Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and Assault on Dark Athena; Alien vs Predator 2010; and Alien Isolation. Every other attempt at converting a movie franchise into a video game has resulted in disaster.
Before go selling the drugs you have to save your game, this game has a kinda broken AI system, and sometimes you have to play dirty with the game too., but besides that is fun and have nice graphics., i would say that besides the raging AI the other problem is that the game kinda feels very repetitive towards the end of the game., but still i had a nice time with this game., i did rage a lot while playing it but i beat it., something that wouldn´t make me go back to this game is the repetitiveness it gets towards the end can be very tiresome.,
Ah, I remember this game. As I remember it, your drugs would sell at different prices depending on different factors. Having just covered basic economics in middle school, I knew I had all the information I needed to grow my empire and become rich. I was familiar with the concept of supply and demand, and knew if supplies were scarce, demand would be high, and I could charge an arm and a leg for my drugs. So what did I do? I sold almost no drugs, because I was sure that would create a shortage and drive up demand, then after a little while the price of drugs I was selling would go through the roof because of the artificial shortage I had created. This strategy...didn't work at all. I was so confused and frustrated that I gave up on the game and never played it again.
Fucking loved this game growing up. Played it before watching the movie, and didn't realise till I was in college that the game is a "sequel". Still desperate for a remake, and stand by that it's better than most of the old school GTAs

I have already seen few people saying it: A video on Total Overdose would be great too!
Yeah its kinda fun too
To really enjoy this game, you gotta start slinging the white. You know, the devil's dandruff, the snow, the Columbina marching power, the booger sugar, the mummy's tears, grandma's ashes, Santa's salt, the ringtail lemur, otherwise known as the yeyo.
The Robin Williams
Ah yes, the Schneef.

Cocaine.
12:51 Rohff ? WTF is he doing here ? He's a french 2000's rapper !!!
Il a fait un clip en 3D avec montana dedans en 2006, tu t'en rappelles ? Une histoire de dingue.
Regarde le clip de Rohff "La Résurrection"
I know there was a music video named "La résurrection" by Rohff with footage of this Scarface Game btw
@@PuNkY-fr that's pretty much it.
Ministry's "Senõr Pelgrino" (from 2006) was featured in this game as well. Ministry was big in the 80's and 90s but they weren't really thrashy then.
I highly recommend you check out Total Overdose, it's one of the most underrated games I've played.
Wow you just triggered a nam' style nostalgia flashback for me, haven't thought about that game in at least a decade.
Total Overdose was so fucking good

I was there.. 1000 years ago
Such a shame the devs ended before the 2nd could be finished.
This is one game that deserves a M rating 100%. I love everything about this game and it is one of the best open world games ever made. The conversations with the people in town are some of the best. Voice work in this game are a massive highlight.
Club goer-"Hey tony, you gotta move ya hips, side to side"
Tony- "how bout i move my fist, all ova yo face meng" 😂
The beginning of this game is like the alternative ending to Casablanca.
"And the question mark leaves the door open for a sequel"
Finally someone talks about this game, this is one of my favorite games of all time and I honestly think it's underrated and disserves a remaster or even a remake for modern game mechanics. But that will probably never happen sadly 😔
What you said about the game losing itself or veering off halfway through is so true. That's exactly how it was with me. I had fond memories but remembered that I never actually completed the game, because I was just grinding it out on all the money stuff by the middle of it. I remember constantly going to the bank
I finish the game in 3 days and 100% completion in just 4 days
in other ways, I complete the distribution mission without failing the mission in just 30 million dollars for all fronts, and I use the fastest vehicle and payout the gang heat reaches to zero before starting the mission.
Your Review is great
I was addicted to this game even after I beat it I was still doing drug runs
Everything about this game was ahead of its time, the nostalgia is so strong watching this video, can’t believe my mum let me have this as a child 😂
Glad to have a PC so I can replay this masterpiece. Still up there as one of my favourite games of all time
"Cooomme on pelican! Fly pelican!"
I really loved your introduction which immediately grasps what so many other games especially today can't
FINALLY! I’ve been waiting for this one!
We got ourselves a friendly neighborhood Tony Montana who sells loads of yayo and massacres his enemies but also would help out a store clerk fishing shark fins
One of the many games that DarkSydePhil has rage quit over his "career."
DSP is a little baby
Who?
@@JoshuaJacobs83 Consider yourself lucky. The DSP rabbit hole is a deep cesspit of begging, scams, and toxicity.
@@vahlok1426 Oh wow. The name sounded familiar but I’ve never seen his videos. Thanks for the warning. You know how the internet is. You hear something, you look it up, you spend years in therapy because no one told you what goatse was and wanted to ruin you…
@@JoshuaJacobs83 I don't even watch him directly, just through the Detractor Community. Wouldn't imagine supporting DSP in any way. But yeah I've had that revelatory feeling, sometimes not for the better.
I've got mates that swear by this game but I've never played it, another great video mate your nearly at a huge new milestone, well done! I can't believe that silly dongle actually buzzed your game...I'm thinking it may be responsible for some controller glitches I've been having...weird!
Thanks heaps mate :) yeah really nuts that I had that glitch, PC gaming is a nutty thing sometimes
Retconning the final sequence of Scarface into a glorious & triumphant bloodbath for this game's opening scene is such an incredible statement of artistic intent lmao I love it
We've waited for your coverage of this game for a very long time, thx a lot!
Wish the second game wasn’t canceled was supposed to be set in Las Vegas would have loved to see how Tony would thrive there
Funny you mention wanting a game about delivering elicit substances in the tropics. Because for all we know that Contraband game at E3 might be just that.
You must of forgot when Tony first came to Miami he washed dishes so I don’t think he see helping storefronts beneath him
I've been waiting on this upload for almost 3 days
I remember getting this game straight after I first watched the movie. It was amazing.
But like you Mini I never finished it just because it was a grind. I just went back to Vice City for the 42nd time. 🤣
Honestly once you figure out the money system and look at how you purchase stuff, it’s one of the easiest things to finish. Quite satisfying I must say
Surprised he didn't mention the modern, for the time, music they put in the game as well. There's straight up a D12 song on the open world playlist.
If I remember correctly, at the beginning you can kill the hitman that shoots Tony in the back in the movie
Nice to see you back, and with a hell of a gem! It had a lot of depth in the crime-empire building meta game even by today's standards. Hell, not even Vice City stories did as good of a job as Scarface!
i think VCS did a pretty good job on the variety depertment.
A remake with todays graphics and a more detailed world with todays mechanics would make me give them all my money
Always a pleasure to see a new video from you! Never played this game when it came out, but it looks like I would've enjoyed it. A shame open world games can't try a few new approaches these days - this seems significantly less formulaic in some of its mechanics.
You’re my favorite youtuber by a longshot. Every time you drop a vid I drop everything
This is absolutely in the top 5 of all ps2 games iom. So creative and fun. ☺️
You took a slow ass car... you needed a speed runner, always use a speed runner to do the merchandise run
One of my favourite games of all time, lots of good memories playing this, and had an awesome soundtrack.
The only bad thing I can say about this game is that because of it we didn't get Al Pacino's likeness in the Godfather game.
I personally think this game is better although the Godfather game is a close second
Fun fact. The person who played tony in this also play's tony in payday 2
Even Al Pacino approved of his performance. He said he couldn't play Tony anymore because his voice has changed over time
@@iimMrBrightside i know it said in the video
Pat from Polygon said it best when he said that this game (like most of movie tiein games) don't adapt the movies, they saddle their posters.
If you think this is hilarious, check out the Scarface strategy game on PSP. It's even narrated by Robert Loggia.
Scarface is so underrated, i enjoyed every minute of this game. Just cruising around in a boat from island to island playing the classic soundtrack..
Yes, it's so "underrated" that it became a Greatest Hits title on both PS2 & PSP while the majority of reviews for it were positive.
Been trying to get this game for over a year now, I’ve been to every store in my area nobody has it. Amazon and eBay is selling it for +$60. I loved this game as a kid and really wish they would remake it!
I’d play this and the godfather over and over again… I LOVED them.
Yes godfather.....damn the memories.
Never got to play the original godfather game but scarface and godfather 2 were two of my favorite games when I was younger, honestly such hidden gems
You reminded me I still gotta beat Godfather.
@@franciscogalhetas9954 you need to play the Godfather then. 2 is a good game but the original is excellent, especially the Don's edition. Since it's incredibly rare to find these days you can probably emulate it without feeling guilty.
@@elmerofairo Thats always been my problem, never found a working copy even the one time i tried to emulate it. tried finding the supposed pc release but that straight up just doesnt exist anymore from my understanding. I def intend on playing it someday if i can find a working emulated version or the pc version, funny thing being reminded of this comment cause i re installed the pc version of the second game not even 2 days ago lol
Ever since I heard about this game, I wanted to play it.
Found a copy online, but couldn't get it to load, even after patches.
Might try and get it working on my new PC, if I can find a better copy that loads.
DONT PLAY THE PC VERSION! Unless you have some ultra powerful hardware it will be broken
@Q.H.S oh piss off i used a 2gb ram slow ass laptop and it works
My PC isn't ultra powerful and I can run it fine...
Like the other guy said, even cheaper laptops can run this game, I mean, it was on the PSP, it isn't demanding...
@@Treynath84 the psp version wasn't even open world, it was a strategy game that got boring after 5 minutes.
@@xfiqf2812
Yeah, found that out afterwards.
Tbf, I just scrolled on a rom site around that time when I was looking for PSP ISOs, saw scarface and guessed it was just a scaled back version of the console game like with most PSP games.
I'll probably check it out at some point, no idea if it's decent...
Christmas Break 2017 Junior in High School, I played this for two weeks straight during our break.
I always stay till the end to hear him say the silly patreon names.
fun fact: the pc version is literal abandonware, and requires a few patches out of the box.
there's also a remaster project: www.nexusmods.com/scarfacetheworldisyours/mods/6
Before go selling the drugs you have to save your game, this game has a kinda broken AI system, and sometimes you have to play dirty with the game too., but besides that is fun and have nice graphics., i would say that besides the raging AI the other problem is that the game kinda feels very repetitive towards the end of the game., but still i had a nice time with this game., i did rage a lot while playing it but i beat it., something that wouldn´t make me go back to this game is the repetitiveness it gets towards the end can be very tiresome.,
This game is definitely a hidden gem
I used to play the hell out of this and the Punisher game
The time has come and so have I.
Video starts at 0:55!
Fucking loved this game growing up. Played it before watching the movie, and didn't realise till I was in college that the game is a "sequel". Still desperate for a remake, and stand by that it's better than most of the old school GTAs
God i love this genre of games. Wish there more of them. I haven't play this one but enjoyed the godfather series. Does anyone know if there are anymore games out there that are similar?
The only one i can remember is GTA VCS
Mafia 3?
This needs a PC remaster. The physical copies for the PS2 and Xbox are ridiculously price hiked
Great game trying to find a ps2/ decent laptop for this gem 💎 selling blow was amazing. Radical gave Rockstar a run for they money on this game[ hell even to this day] from pimping your house ,to calling up your cars, and even Rockstar bit off tony rage mode for Trevor ability
if you set the color temperature of scarface 30% toward the cool side instead of the red side using freestyle or reshade, the yellow tint goes away and all sorts of colors become revealed! I have a clip of fixing it on my channel if u are curious. Scarface was soo yellow
