  • Short video demonstration on fitting rack ears to a synth, in this demo to a 70hp Behringer Model D to mount it in a 19 inch rack system.
    The Model D is already fitted in a complete eurorack case / skiff but I prefer to use 19 inch racks for my gear.
    I've already racked most of my 90hp synthesisers.

    That's so funny, just last night I had to open up my circuit bent TR-505 to tighten some inputs. The idea of doing it was way more stressful than the actual act of the repairs.

    Quite a good idea to save desk space, but how does the power supply fit in this configuration? Can I use a 6U 19" rack and still access or at least fit in the Power supply of both units?

      You won't regret it...
      I totally love the MC-707, mine goes everywhere with me... I could replace 80% of my entire studio with just the 707, it's so versatile!

      @@krsTBedfordStudios That sounds incredible. I am really in sort of limbo phase of making a decision on what to purchase for my needs. I'm used to doing most of my work on the Maschine Studio along with the software, but am sort of trying to go more of the dawless route...or at least most of the song work dawless. I'd like something that I can generate great ideas with on the fly, but also use it for serious production if needed...if I have to render out the individual tracks to polish/mix/master in DAW, that's fine--but, I've seen the 707 go from zero to fully produced track on it's own.
      I've looked into Polyend Tracker...Teenage Engineering Op-1...Novation Circuit...the Roland MV-1 versalab...Squarp Hapax or Squarp Pyramid...and Pioneer Toraiz. There's just so many to choose from. To be 100% honest, my budget is really better suited for the 300-600$ range at most. I'm not sure if any of the other Roland products are capable of doing what the 707 does, though. I'm also primarily interested in being able to control hardware synths like you have...both midi and CV would be nice.

    • @krsTBedfordStudios
      @krsTBedfordStudios  Рік тому

      @@fluorophoremusic3679 there's always the Digitakt route too... but for me the 707 is my box of choice every time...
      And agreed, it can make entire tracks with full production quality. I'm a big fan of Roland's products generally, and there's a good reason that they remain so popular!
      The Zencore engines in the 707 are mind-blowing too, combined with the legendary Roland fx and its just unbeatable in my mind!

    I made a 4 space rack to house my pro 1 and virtualizer 3d, the power jack stics up and hits the inside of the top of the rack...are you using the eurorack plug for power? Or did you do something to keep it out of the way. Im not trying to go euro rack full on synth wall, just the pro 1 and the effects so i can do basic recording with it...sorry im a newb...

    • @krsTBedfordStudios
      @krsTBedfordStudios  3 роки тому

      Hey Zenghost, how have you made the rack? I've not had this as a problem as my racks are either open topped or the Behringer synths have had another synth on top so the shape of the chassis allows access to the power jack/switch and midi dip switches... the only issue I found was that the Model D main out gets in the way of some of the rear patch points above it... are you able to modify your rack at all???

    • @mikedegrazia
      @mikedegrazia 3 роки тому +1

      @@krsTBedfordStudios the rack itself is 4 pieces of 3/4 inch plywood 2 on the sides and and 2 on the top and bottom. Imagine an upward angled table top model open in the front and back. I think after looking at it if i move the bottom cross piece of plywood down i can mount the synth underneath the effects module by skipping a rack mount hole and letting it hang down a bit lower...all operator error, on my part i should have waited to build the rack until i had the synth...or if i can find a 90 degree angle plug jack it would work as well as is. Going to see about the new plug jack first might be the easiest fix...still need to order rack ears so ill have to wait anyway...
