- Flying downtown on Christmas day to avoid the crowds of curious people. It worked out to be a perfect day to fly, some interference with the buildings limited the range a little bit but I wasn't going to go too far out of sight in the first place. At the very last spot I launched from a cop showed up to watch me, he didnt question me at all :) Thanks for watching let me know what you think of the video. I used a 2013 HP Touchsmart Laptop to edit, so not really anywhere close to the right equipment for a video like this but I need more work to save up for proper tools.

Love the view of the downtown.
Awesome video, man! Loved how close you were able to get to the buildings.
i'm from LA. I like how clean your streets are. no potholes, nu bumps or cracks. no tents
@DeeJay ViVo is that the party of George W Bush? No thanks!
Ha! Don’t let this video fool you. There are definitely some crappy parts of town such as west and south of downtown.
Thank you so much for wonderful view God bless you
That Chase Bank building used to be called The Valley National Bank it was there when I was there in 1976 even
I would like to live in Phoenix, it is so beautiful
As someone who lives here, it's fun as long as you can get out of town for the summer to Colorado or California for 2 weeks
it is very dangerous even tho i been there therre was xxxxxx shootings lots of fires loads of traffic i do not recament living there but staying there for a week or so is fine
Although this is almost four years old, Phoenix doesn't look much different. They have added a new freeway. Loop 202 connects with I-10 between 59th and 67th Avenues and goes south behind South Mountain to where it reconnects with I=10 and the eastern half of itself on the south side of Awatukee.
it also goes thru the 10 but it goes back to the 202 trowds tempe and mesa
So cool! I was literally looking for footage to see what the chase tower roof top looked like and you were the only video where I was able to find it! LOL Thank you. I'm trying to see if them at Chase will let my fiancee and me get married up there. We mainly want to do it up there for the photos.
Definitely need to investigate if that's even possible.. lol
By the way, the footage was great and the editing was also good for a Touchsmart Laptop! lol I've been dying to buy a drone myself and this made the urge even worse!
Bridgette Berena They had a reception hall on the top floor but I think it closed down now. I even think there was an observation deck on the roof a long time ago.
No way, definitely didn't know that.. That'd be awesome if they still had that.
You did a great job! 😃
I wish Phoenix had a taller skyline. It would be spectacular. But they had to put sky harbor next to downtown.
LA has a tall skyline and growing
we also have
skid row
Dope👍🏾😎
Man those buildings look small far away
Chase Tower is the tallest in Arizona, and it's only 40 stories high. It's been the king of Phoenix's skyline since construction wrapped up in the late 1960s.
It’s because they kind of are since downtown is so close to sky harbor the airport in Phoenix there is a highly restriction of 500 ft I believe the chase tower is 495 ft.... could be wrong about the exact height going off memory.
Edit: Chase Tower is 483 ft to be exact according to google.
its really developing
buen video , saludos desde magdalena de kino sonora
Getting my mavic soon. Need to know where I can fly in AZ. Those apps don't really help a whole lot.
Did u found it?? Where to fly????
I have an inspire 2 I have so much down town footage
You gonna post it? I'd love to see. ✌
Isn't those areas class B airspace next to chase building I guess just do it early in the morning before anyone notices cool video I just got a mavic drone looking at the new laws just passed the FAA is going to put all kinds of restrictions in place now.
Thanks for the video. I'm from a small town of 12,000 in Minnesota and I was thinking of moving to a bigger city. I think Phoenix might be too big though. Has anyone that reads this comment ever heard anything about Sierra Vista?
I lived in the phx metro all my life and have never been to Sierra Vista but heard it's a nice place. The Phoenix area is huge as it is spread out with alot of suburbs surrounding it.
So nice and new
Palm Springs Cali is smaller than Phoenix but just as hot. it may be right for you as it is located west of lovely Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert. You can attend Coachella for spring break! It is only 119 miles east of Los Angeles is you like that big city feel (I dont)
Where are we legally allowed to fly our drone here in phx area for recreation?
would yo umind if I used some of your footage for an intro for a show that I am putting together?
Jayson Bates for a charge, no.
kdogtv Everyone wants everything for free, never mind the fact that it took me weeks to put this together. Smh
Aerial Media X that is why I asked.
Jayson Bates you’re the 3rd
There's a typo in your title frame.. ...you misspelled photography....photograpy...
Blue Bird oh well, at least I'm good at flying lol. Ty
Bonito phoenix
One question that comes to mind is how legal is this?
EM Uhill illegal. He is right next to Sky Harbor Airport. You can't fly drones within 5 miles without gaining permission from the airport. Which would take months. And unless you have a very good reason, they aren't going to hand you a permit.
Kyle Day I got permission.
Kyle Day wouldn’t months. You just call and let them know they will limit your altitude but you’ll be good to go
Exactly. In fact you don't even need to call, you just have to fill out a form online now. Takes just a few minutes.
how did you get permission if you dont mind me asking? DT phoenix is a Safety Zone 1 (Red Area), and you cannot ask for permission here at flight is prohibited as No Fly Zone. If you look at the FAA map here (link below) , you will see DT phoenix is clearly in Red which is prohibited. You can only ask permission for Safety Zone 2 (green Area). I called Sky Harbor ATC. Please reply and let me know or DM me with more info, i live here and i am trying to get some shots downtown but it appears to be prohibited. Thank you and i appreciate it.

This is booboo
That blue building 1:23 on the fair grounds needs to be demolished. It's so outdated and ugly
Marcus Kisto That stadium is an icon, it was the first home of the Sun's and many high profile events took place there. It could use a major renovation but we don't have to demolish it.
Michael Lopez - Agree. That's exactly what we don't need is any more demolition from old iconic buildings. Being that the city demolished significant historic structures already.
The Madhouse on McDowell? Kareem Abdul Jabbar is the all-time leading scorer in NBA history with 36,000+ points, of all those points he made only 1 three pointer in his 20 year career, guess where it was???? Right there.... I was there. The Mercury are currently there now, they shared the downtown arena with the Suns until a few years ago. I saw The Hulkster there in his prime; Iron Sheik, The British Bulldogs, The Junkyard Dog, Big John Studd, The Hart Foundation, etc. It's never going away.
