Half way through the podcast and really enjoying the discussion guys. Surprised to hear Gary talk highly of NMS on the PCVR2 (I've yet to try one myself) and super excited for the Quest 3. Those pancake lenses are going to be special. Cheers.
I also forgot to add, I think the 512gb model is essential, as Quest 3 games will get substantially larger when you consider the bump in resolution and chipset. Not to mention, longer play throughs will mean you'll need to keep games on the device for much longer.
I agree I would have liked for Meta to spend more time on VR than AI, but I am also waiting for the day where we get AI wired NPCs in VR games. It would be uncanny to play a single player RPG style game and have conversations with your companions.
It's a bitter pill to swallow, but you won't regret it. I easily filled my 256 Quest 2 and now I have to manage storage every time I get a new game. Even a new Walkabout course needs storage management!
Have you noticed how big the Walkabout install size is with all the DLC? You would need a 512GB Quest 3 if you have any games that continue to add content. My 256 Quest 2 starts to warn me and glitch when there is only 2GB of stories remaining. Love the connect commentary at the end chaps! It was proper amateur hour wasn't it? All the fake hooting and clapping made me cringe.
Meta were actually claiming the Assassins creed shown to content creators was the Q2 version. LOL :) \ At a Q3 event running on a Q3. ?? - Really !! You must have a low opinion of the gullibility of your puppets/Ambassadors Meta .. Meanwhile.... A Ubisoft programmer takes a deep breath. A gun pointing at his head. A voice on the phone says "No pressure".
I don't care if I regret it later (I doubt that), I'm not paying extra 150€ for 384GB when a 1TB nvme is less than 100€. This is Apple level of customer gouging. I'd rather spend this money on a proper strap. If you rant about overpriced accessories, you should also rant about overpriced storage, it's incredibly overpriced compared to current storage prices :)
Fair enough. I’m still in two minds myself, and although I want to be sure I won’t run out of storage, I really begrudge paying that amount extra. I could definitely put that money towards something else.
What do you think if you use wifi 6 ( or 6E ) with this quest pro this pictures enough there is no articact on the screen? ( AV1 codec is much better than the old one ) So the Quest 3 would be sharper and it means there won'T be so much picture quality differenc with Crystal which use display port or the wireless VR won't be the same picture quality than the dedicated display ports PC VR ? it is impossible? I have no idea how overall quality of the wireless image in Quest 3 will compare to a (relatively) native feed of the Pimax Crystal at this stage, but I’ll be testing that out when I get my Quest 3 next week. The AV1 codec requires a 4000 series Nvidia card I believe, which I don’t have so won’t be able to comment on that.
