What do you think of the 40th anniversary edition?
It’s my favorite 👍
@@markusmuller2462 Why?
If one lives in a country where bikes are much stolen, even more the GSs, it will be recognizable very easily as a 2021 model: not safe! Therefore, would choose the triple black version.
It's the cat's ass.
Not a bike I’d look back at after parking.
Just ordered mine today! Upgrading from 2020 GS to GSA (need the extra fuel). Keep up the great videos!
Great review, Great bike, did like the veiw of you riding in your country on a nice sunny day👍🏻
I had an R100 GS 'bumble bee' paint job. A larger, heavier bike than my previous R80GS. Always loved that meaty low/mid range power. A really nice bike to ride on long distance trips.
Great review and insights!
Such a good video, great job!
Love the colors
I have a 2020 1250 GSA and I agree, it sounds fantastic. Goes well too. Very refined for sure.
I love 🖤 💛 the yellow on black!!
My favorite color combination since I was a kid.
I am not interested in buying a large bike but I watched anyways because I like how you and Dave do honest road tests !! 👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦
It’s a beauty! Option 719 called the Highway package for 22 will include: electric windscreen, backlit handlebar switches for night riding and a real horn. Why not, it’s a premium brand, BMW. It’s also, for the most part, ridden in the super slab. Then I woke up from the dream.
Wow, you know about 2022 version? Will include 10 inch Tft?
They changed the chassis for 2021.
2021
Rake - 25.7 degrees (GS), 24.9 (GSA)
Trail - 4.0 inches (GS), 3.8 inches (GSA)
Wheelbase - 59.6 inches (GS), 59.2 inches (GSA)
2019
Rake - 25.5 degrees (GS), 26.3 (GSA)
Trail - 3.9 inches (GS), 4.1 inches (GSA)
Wheelbase - 60 inches (GS), 59.7 inches (GSA)
I bought the 2021 R1250GS Triple Black a couple of months ago and absolutely love it. Cannot find anything at all to complain about. Of course it, and every accessory is expensive but you get what you pay for.
I love that color, I did ride the tripple black color last week and Mutisttada 4s yesterday. Engine heat is still present on Mutistrada since outside temperature was 25c. So if I upgrade my 2019 yellow Vstrom XT I would pic the 1250 GS.
Nice job making it 12:50 Dave!!
I have exactly this bike and it’s pretty dam good, somehow the suspension levelling and shiftcam control versus last year‘s model to seems to be even better. Daytime led and new indicators look good but people still pullout in front of you in traffic .
Very nice review and colors gradings of your video, good v-log on bike, good on filming also:) where you taken the images? Seems familiar
Thank you! Shot in Romania. The real review is coming in about an hour.
Its an even better allround bike now.Thanks.
Hello from the USA! I didn't really like the color on the 1250 bikes, so I got a Triple Black. But my wife did get the 40th anniversary paint scheme on her new 750 GS and I it has grown on me. Keep up the great videos, really enjoy them!
Bumblebee grew on me as well, but it took a while.
Where getting your motorcycle news is easier than getting the go pro to work when it's supposed too!!!
Excellent review. BMW make superb bikes but I can't afford it or any of their products. Especially for something I will never use to for what it's designed for. Sorry, but there you go. But for those who do have it, you got the best.
DJI Action Osmo is the answer. Both of mine have never frozen like the Go Pros do so often.
Well Dave this and your review video sealed the deal for me. I collect mine on Saturday. 40th Edition GSA BumbleBee colour scheme. Still trying to figure out a name for it. My other two bikes got their names after taking them home.....
from Texas, I have the new 2021 GSA 1250 Bumble Bee. I love it.
Nice color, I have liked the bike for at least forty years. The gravity of reality is its just too heavy for me.
The advantage, is that you are now wise.
It must be dam quick, never had the chance to test ride one, but just going off opening my 2018 gsa up I'm seeing 90mph before I know it.
Learned a new word today : Unkillable!
Those colors look so good on the 1250 but not on the 850, 750 310
Long Way home! Thanks for the vídeo! How tall are you ? I’m 1.75cm , could I reach the floor with “enough” safety?
Which model is cell phone holder.it's good.thanks
We'll see if the Cam - Shift holds up. I'm a skeptic.
I think that 6th axis in the IMU makes it a time machine 😜
Apart from distance advantage (as if there is no gas station before 500 km in the world), why people choose heavier and bulky GSA and pay more, while being lighter GS within same power...
I think that all the bits and pieces come standard on the GSA while the GS you have to upgrade bits and in the end becomes more $$$
@@markust8904 I think the people who choose GSA instead of GS, wanna show big boy 😊
I like it, but prefer Triple Black. If this was available, I’d take it immediately.
From what I heard 2017 is the most successful GS, Would it be worth buying one from 2021?
I would not upgrade to current model if the differences are not very relevant.
The color scheme is great.
What it would take for me to buy a new GS? A reverse gear. I looking for a dual sport, touring bike that I can easily maneuver in the dirt.
True. Its something I definitely wonder about oft. That doesn't it make perfect sense and acceptance of the laws of physics; to have a reverse gear in these heavy bikes. Its a macho thing. But the fact is that whilst off roading most times I/most of us end up having our riding mates pull our bikes back outta situations. A reverse would have helped or sufficed wherein!
I have nothing to say regarding this machine.
But UA-cam likes it when videos get comments, so... 👍
Yes it does…but say something :)))
@@LongWayHome Ok, I don't appreciate the engine, and I don't like the colour.
BMW Motorrad customer service is very good.
😁
Fair enough :)
You say different alot of times...and when you buy something, different isn't the feeling that you really want!
Awesome...great...way better...fantastic...are the words/feelings you're looking for😁😀👍
do you still hear the motor rattle like the 1200gs?That is the only thing that I really hate about my 2016GS.
it sounds horrible sitting on the , you hear the valves like they are been tortured...
Hilarious, you goose the throttle just as you pass a policeman. Must be a friend of yours or a subscriber. 👍🏼 😎 🇺🇸 🌎
Indicators, with them now being daytime running lights and on always, any problems with other vehicles mistaking you for indicating? I heard and read a few horror stories?
I wouldn't think so, as long as there not ...flashing...right?
@@frankmalone8389 that’s the question, with them on all the time other drivers mistake them for flashing, there’s been some accidents as a consequence over here, as when they’re on as daytime running lights, they’re amber.
I’ve got a 1200. Must admit the 1250 is more engaging IMO.
Sooo, I'm guessing you like the GS over the R1250? 🤔
Where’s Dave?
This is the only BMW model I would have. The Loncin engine range leave me stone cold. Boxer, Tele-lever & shaft are all essential IMO. I still think shift-cam is a marketing gimmick and I'm not sure I need electric motors in the cylinder heads. I'm currently on an Africa Twin and don't know if this should be my next bike or stay with my Honda. BMW dealership in UK is a bit more corporate and less than two blokes faffing around in a shed. Thanks Dave!
Telelever and shaft drive are heavy and unnecessary. BMW could save at least 25 pounds (likely more) with a chain drive and standard forks and would loose none of the performance.
next time, try to connect your Cardo intercom to the TFT screen and your phone with the Connectivity-app... You will get a lot of fun (or frustration )... ;-)
Try to listen to your music ( no volumecontrol )... and the connectivity after switching the bike off and on, it works if the Gods are pleased to do so !
Did that! Main review will be fun :)
@@LongWayHome Thx !!! It's a shame for a premium bike like the GS to get a crapy infotainment-system. I have send emails to BMW about the system but they say that i have to buy their own ( crapy and expensive ) intercomsystems... And maybe its even reliable as their GPS systems... :-)
I love the bike BUT Black /Yellow just doesn’t work for me
Nice bike but i prefer my 2020 GSA HP 😁
Hey! Just a few comments; 1) Eco mode, I use it for commuting. It is relaxing and it saves 8% (gas and emissions, think about it 🤔). 2) I got the triple black, but if I had decided for the 40 years I would change the handguards to black. Nice rides 🖖🏻🇵🇹
After the first 3 days i really started liking the yellow ones. Weird!
Hmm I think it's bmw having a little laugh by doing the yellow for the 40 years bike Coz it reminds me of the me109
Standard response to 💩 talk about the GS -- Do you own one? Have you ridden one properly? Do you know that in city traffic if the handle bars fit through a gap the dike does too? Did you know that low down weight from the boxer makes city and off-roading a dream. Did you know hundreds of GS riders just last week did the GS Tour and GS safari to some of the most remote places in Australia, they’re amazing off road. You would want to see the BMW Motorad Australia channel
My 2017 gearbox is exactly the same as my old 2014. It’s like a tractor.
very true.
You need a 17.5 onward. Much smoother g/box.
Love the video,like before watching.
Im not sure I like this yellow details as it looks like someone bought lot of aftermarket staff from Ali express and put on the bike to make it pretty. 🙄
I have a 2021 model and frankly I would only have those colours if BMW gave me the bike which sadly, they didn't. The coating of mud and cow poo that you carefully applied is however a great improvement on the original colour scheme. All the best.
Lights and stickers instead of providing crash bars and hand guards that provide real protection, and they didn't reduce the weight at all. Come on BMW, step it up.
That would be the GS1250 Adventure.
Nice bike, I prefer it in triple black. 😁 definitly you should update, shiftcam and quickshifter. 40 year anniversary is a taste-thing. I don't like the gold-rims unless they are on the white-blue-redish colourscheme. 😄
more price i guess? and more fear to drop the bike
When I heard the music I thought I had accidentally stumbled on to her 2 wheels.
There was like 10 seconds of music :))
@@LongWayHome It doesn't take much time. At least you're not a cardboard cutout. :)
Do we need another 1250 GS review?
:D from me, yea
Love the colors except for the yellow hand guards
What BMW do is sell you a bike frame, everything else is an optional extra
Is like 'do it yourself bike' 😄
If you remember these Burago cars for kids that you buy and build on your own 🤣
Thats Harley Davidson brother NOT the GS..😅😅
Yellow hand guards make the bike look plasticky and cheap, when it is not cheap$$$$
Ho hum... so nothing new. How much more will it cost?
Yup, the extra cost and servicing will be new!
Could be exhust as I've changed mine on my 2019 .... sounds a lot diffrent and feels like more kick there .... Does Dave know that you was waving to he's girlfriend at the begging of the video lol
Keep the '17 BMW for a few more weeks and THEN trade it in for a _Pan America._
I miss Dave, is he on holiday?
S
yep, i'll change my GS 1250/2021 for a Pan American for sure !
It’s expensive but not by much 😂 still can’t afford it
I really like the color scheme, unfortunately I'm not interested in this bike at all.
Crappy dealer network in Canada compared to Europe, and expensive to fix etc 😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦
That is far too much tech and moving parts on a bike for my liking. You can not expect a user to service this himself - tilting lights, riding modes, fancy suspension, a million sensors... The bike is wider than needed for city traffic, bad for offroad, has inadequate wind protection for highways, extreme service costs and on top of that is extremely complex, making reliability and longevity an open question. I really do not get a point of it.
You had me at "You can not expect a user to service this himself"
lol
A real mans bike for real men ;-)
Out of my £ range,
I have a 2019 1250gs these insignificant updates are poor, who needs these lighting !!! Upgrades heated seat!!! Eco mode !!! Cmon BMW you can do better than that........or is a NEW MODEL imminent......" electric screen etc”
This model with this color is tacky....sorry
Ugly colour combo, Tripple black for me
I think it's.......Bavarian junk. Harley's PA seems to be the new standard of excellence in this category.
LOL The new standard? The PA hasn’t even been on the street for 6 months.
@@brentgilbert805 you missed his point.
HD PA is the new standard, on how to not make a motorcycle. That's a reference by itself.
@@zefautino Sorry, don’t agree. The HD PA ain’t a bad bike at all, especially considering it’s their first shot at ADV.
@@bukweet I don't care.
@@brentgilbert805 Fully agree mate. It's going to take at least 2-3 years for the PA to really establish itself amongst ADV riders, and that's providing Harley dealers actually promote the bike in its showrooms and does not leave it in the back area near the toilets! Agreed, Harley makes some classical looking baggers/cruisers,but this is a whole new direction for them and this market is dominated by BMW and for good reason. #1 seller in the Adventure tourer market hands down.
You have no idea about the electronics on this bike... Terrible.
Dave..... is that you? Seriously, what do you mean?
