  • Apple cider vinegar rinse Recipe:
    Simple Vinegar Rinse Recipe. Mix 1/2 to 4 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (ACV) with 8 ounces of water in a plastic squeeze bottle, spray bottle or other container. Experiment to find a dilution that works best for your hair type (dry hair likes less ACV and oily hair like more).

    I feel like once I hit puberty, my hair took a turn for the worst, and I didn't know what to do! I hated my hair and wore it in braids/buns all the time to hide it. I grew up with brothers and my mom had stick straight hair so I didn't have anyone to turn to for wavy/curly hair guidance but UA-cam and I've found you, India! You've given me inspiration to start my curly girl hair journey and I thank you so much!
    The one thing I struggle with is when my hair is fresh out of the shower, it looks so pretty and wavy/curly, but once it starts to dry even a little bit, it FRIZZES and poofs and it doesn't make cute waves or curls its just a hot mess! What kind of products do you think I need to try to help my hair get healthy?

      You probably need to oil your hair after washing it, use argan oil or anything with anti frizz or discipline on the name. Usually when I wash my hair I apply defining cream and 2 pumps of argan oil avoiding the roots, and it really helps with frizz and definition.

    You probably liked the vinegar more because it's an acid. (Not super acidic obviously) baking soda/water is a basic solution. Acidic solutions will smooth and close the hair cuticle. Basic solutions open the hair cuticle- meaning it is easier for moisture to leave your hair in the shower.

      Sara Rahimpour you can use it before or after it’ll either way remove the build up.

    • @IAmNotNicolex
      @IAmNotNicolex 4 роки тому +1

      Sara Rahimpour I always use it as a pre-poo. So I soak my whole head of hair in it (a diluted water-ACV solution, not just ACV alone), focus lots of it on the scalp and massage it in. I’ll usually leave it in for a while and then I shampoo and condition like normal!

  • @OneSouthernSimmer
    @OneSouthernSimmer 6 років тому +4

    I've use baking soda about 1 to 2 table spoons depends on how thick your hair is mix into a good amount of shampoo rinse thoroughly then use ACV 1/4 cup in 1/2 cup of water I use a refillable condiment bottle make sure to massage it into scalp and through hair leave in 5 to 10 mins and rinse works really well also helps with dandruff and itchy scalp your hair is soft and full of volume afterwards it's best to use a gentle shampoo of course and do not use conditioners close to scalp this will cut back on build up dramatically

    • @amixeblu
      @amixeblu 7 років тому +13

      It depends greatly on the silicones. Some are water soluble, others can be removed with a gentle cleanser, and others (like dimethicone) need the sulfates.

    Acv took all my dye out of my hair. That being said, the day after I did it, my hair has never felt or looked better (minus losing the dye). I used the acv and water mixture in a spray bottle at the roots and kept spraying to the tips. Ran a shower right after, let it sit as long as it took to shave my legs and then washed and conditioned as usual. Hair was very dry after. I didnt brush it until it fully air dried. Looked awful first day. Second day was brand new gorgeous hair 😁

Or should I also add some oils like Argan oil or any other and some gel too? And if so what would be the correct order to put them? I'm really not sure what the routine should be

      @carinaelizabethpaul9785 4 роки тому

      I have relaxed and dyed hair so to keep it from drying out I use sulfate free shampoos and leave in conditioner when I use a clarifying shampoo I do a protein treatment so that my hair is stronger and castor oil to seal in moisture and a deep conditioner after the treatment and only clarify one a week or once a month. I use it weekly since I use alot of leave in conditioner and oils.

      ممكن تشتري شامبو و بلسم مفيهمش sulfates من علي النت او من اي صيدلية، بس مش من السوبرماركت عشان الصيدليات بيبقي فيها حاجات طبية و مستوردة (مش كلها غالية) بتبقي حلوة اوي عشان الشعر. بس لو لقيتي في products بتاعت go green مفيهاش sulfates كويسة بردو وانا بحط منها، كمان ده غير ان الشامبو و البلسم اشتريتهم بسبعين جنية و انت ممكن تلاقي الحاجات اللي بيقولوا عليها بتاعت devacurl و shea moisture اغلي من كدة بكتير. و بعدين تسلكي شعرك بايدك وهو متغرق بلسم و تنشفي بفوطة microfiber او تلفي في تيشرت (اسمه plopping و ليه طريقة معينة ابقي بصي عليها) بعدين لما تيجي تنامي يتلفي في تيشرت بردو، يتلمي شعرك pineapple و بس كده.

    I love the Devacurl buildup buster, but I'm so trying the grapefruit one. I love grapefruit and I've actually used white vinegar, rice vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar if we run out of it. Dad uses it to clean with and I use it on my hair a family size bottle is gone in no time. Also when we have grapefruits in the fridge I'll take 2 grapefruits, juice and de-pulp them, then put the pulpless juice in a bottle to use instead of a ACV solution but only if I've not used any silicone for a month and be careful in sunny areas/summer time because it can lighten your hair a bit or it did mine. I don't mind it because I have yet to like coloring/highlighting my hair. Just haven't found the right styleist yet.

    I'm trying to grow out my hair really long and I'm always looking for more tips & tricks and how to care for my hair...which is how I found this video. I had no idea about the hard water. I literally felt sad when I heard that lol my boyfriend and I looked at each other and just made a face. We have really hard water in the town we live in. We have a bunch of pet fish so we're already worrying about softening our water for them. Just another reason to hate hard water lol.

    Hard water.. that is my issue. It's ruined my hair. I have a water softener and that is suppose to help. I need to find a plumber to show me how the thing works.

    The solution for hard water is a good shower filter. I like the
    Sonaki duel filter. It's the only one I have found that removes everything, including chloramines. Usually it's either removing just chloramines or it's a regular filter that removes all the other stuff. Because chloramines can only be filtered with vitamin C. So that's why the sonaki duel filter is awesome - it's two seperate filters, put into one system. Just a tip, the regular filter (the white one) can seem to go bad quickly if u have REALLY SUPER super super hard water like I do and the shower gets used 1-2 times daily. But it can last longer if u take the filter out every 2-4 showers (super easy and quick to do) let it dry out and shake it really good before putting it back in. The filters come in packs of 3, so just alternate between them while one is drying.

    Hard water being a build up of calcium and magnesium makes your hair and the water basic, so you need to get your scalp back to its normal pH, best way to do this is rinse your hair with Apple Cider Vinegar as it's acid and will bring you scalp back to a healthy pH.

    Is your "Alexa" possessed? Mine will start talking even though I've not addressed "her". She did it 3 times in one week, and I unplugged her for several weeks. She's done it a couple of times since I plugged her in again. Crazy!
