How would you compare the SS127 to the Feel Free Lure 11.5 in terms of stability and ability to stand up?
One thing I notice about my SS127 and I see it here in this video as well is it doesn't take much for water to come up through the scupper holes. I am 220 pounds and the act of standing up from the sitting position will make a solid bit of water come up. No issues in the summer, but winter fishing that could be annoying.
If you're winter fishing and a little water coming through is annoying, then you're probably dangerously underdressed for cold water immersion when you fall in. Could cause you your life. Read about cold water shock drownings.

I think tests like this should be done on every kayak made! While we certainly don't intend on flipping them, it does happen and knowing how easy one is to flip over another would certainly steer me away from buying any easily flippable model.
For instance I have a Pescador Angler 12. Most people never seem to have a problem with it, but I'm a tall guy. If I change my center of gravity, I'm going for a swim. If I would have known that, I would have went with a more ("tall friendly") stable kayak at the time!
+Larry Talbot agreed, we are all different shapes and sizes what I find stable may not be for others. But I can safely say this kayak will be super stable for you, it is a beast
Most people never factor in the persons height, I'm 6' 2" but in many yaks that's enough to tip the balance. LOL

I fond a pretty good deal on a used SP13 which is supposed to be incredibly stable. Its not! Not for tall guys. However, I can at least reach behind me and not have to remain perfectly still and I can turn around and grab anything I need (switch rods, grab a drink, change lures, etc.) without the constant thought of being forced to take a swim!
Depends on how big you are, for me it is super stable

Hey my friend ,Another great video ! Real world testing right there and to have the seat come off was classic ,that is the kind of stuff that is not planned but REAL LIFE ! ( did the seat float or was the water shallow ? ) Thanks for making this video and showing how to flip a kayak back over I am sure a lot of people do not know how to do this correctly . +Smileyman thanks man, the seat needs to be latched down after changing positions, my bad lol, it was very deep probably 15 ft middle of the lake. It doesn't flow at least I don't think, love doing these kinds of videos super fun, specially with friends or family around

What I'm wondering is... how much weight on one side gunnel would cause it to roll? If you could stack it in increments... it'd tell you how much of your body weight it'd tolerate.

+Chazz B the nucanoe is stable is huge and weigh less than this kayak, but it is far easier to flip than the Bonafide, check my Nucanoe Does It Flip video

In the market for my first and last kayak before retirement for fishing, and nature photography hobbies, let alone exercise and relaxation all in one package. How would you rate the stability between the SS127 vs. the Big Fish 120, and the Shearwater 125?
What other kayaks should be on my radar?
The ss127 is more stable than the Shearwater for sure, the big fish? I haven't flip that one but I would say they would be comparable, are you adding a motor ?
@@AliexFolgueira I don't plan on adding a motor this year. They kayak and the essentials will be enough of a financial stretch to get started this year, and perhaps next year I'll begin to research motors for purchase and a fish finder. When I get a motor, however, I'm only planning on using it when conditions are difficult as I want to use the kayak for exercise. Although, I have an inkling once I start using it that it may become a luxury hard to not use, lol.

Nice video, for the future though your wetsuit is on backwards. The reason that cord is so long is so you can pull the zipper up when its on your back. They fit much better that way.

I have the shearwater 125 and pretty decked out but want to know the comparisons between them and which one has more and better benefits for fishing before I decide to sell mine and buy a ss127 or to just keep my 2021 shearwater 125 and I got the slate blue I will say I absolutely love it! Now compare that to the Hobie Compass - this Yak is well thought out, features galore, better plastics , deck matting, front storage, fully adjustable high quality seat! Now if there was only a pedal drive that added 800.00 to it hmmmm so long Hobie!

Just picked up my Bonafide 127. I really like this kayak in all categories except the seat. Its too narrow. The inside of the seat frame is only 16". So if your hips are wider than 16" your sitting on the frame. Uncomfortable! For me all the great things about this kayak are overshadowed by this issue. I hope Bonafide addresses this issue

+JarHead Fishing the hobies come with pedal drive that makes easier to fish but you can always add a small motor like bixpy to the Bonafide and it is still less money than the PA, the Bonafide is more stable. You can also try the Hobie compass, check my last video, thanks for the support
