Excellent summary of BV's career. My dad took me to several games at the old Comiskey Park during the Veeck era. What fun! You could never predict what crazy promotion he would invent! Genius!
Thank you! Netflix just did a great documentary on his son called "Saint of Second Chances" You should check it out if you are able to.
What a great & detailed summary of his career!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. He was one of a kind!
When asked about the possibility of being elected to the HOF, Mr Veeck unselfishly said " If there's no room for Luis Aparicio there's no room for me". He lived to see Aparicio enshrined in 1984 but his own election was posthumous.
It’s too bad he didn’t live to see it
If you didn’t want to use your voice and face I understand, but the A.I used in this video is weak. You’ve clearly written somewhat of a script, Done some research. just use your voice man!
JULY 12 1979
He ruined the White Sox in the 60s and didnt have the money to compete with free agency in the 70s
He didn’t have the proper finances to compete but it was a wild ride!
BBuy true.😅
I would like to have half the confidence that Bill Veeck had.
He definitely had his own vision and he stuck to it!
Half the money you mean.
What about having the player's name on the back of their shirts?
Good point. I think that came in around 1960
I wonder how the Mariners would have done if he were to own the team during the team's horrific earlier days?
One thing is for sure it definitely would have been fun!
