If the laptop in question is a Toshiba and the DVD driver name starts 'TSSTcorp DVD '.... the solution which works is 'Try uninstalling the two programs (TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator, TOSHIBA Disc Creator) if they are installed. ' After trying everything under the sun, including adding the register keys, it turns out all i needed to do was removed this old Toshiba program. I'm guessing when it uninstalled it also fixed the anomalous register entry which was blocking windows 10. Drive Letter showed up after reboot. The same solution may apply to other brands which have bloatware installed by the manufactures to manage their devices.
I have tried all of the DVD not working fixes. Sometimes it works until you shut down the computer and start it the next day. Window updates are causing this problwm by changing software and elimnating the working devices. I have lost the abilty to run 3 different unrelated DVD drive. 1 internal and 2 USB external. Also I no longer have DTS Sound for my earphones or external speakers because the original software license expired so Microsoft is obligated to eliminate (by an update) the abilty to use it on my system. However DTS can reissue a license for $15.00. I have blocked any further updates.
Unfortunately, none of these worked for me. What the 3rd option said to add was already there. Still, the computer doesn't see the disc drive that was working fine earlier today. I'm afraid my disc drive bit the dust.
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19), Which of the three repairs do I use for error 19?
So i have spent 2 days trying to fix this issue but I feel that the registry would do thetrick but when I check there is already controller0 and enum thing should I delete and re make the folder?
God I hate Windows. They ruined my computer. I tried a number of LG external optical drives and still no go. I tried the usual fix recommendations and still nothing. "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" $2,000 wasted on a custom computer that can't burn discs which is a big part of my work...M-Disc and BD-R. I had to buy a cheap replacement computer on Amazon to burn my discs. It is Windows 11. How long will it last before Windows ruins it?
I am trying to get a older dvd/cd rom drive from a windows 7 laptop to work in my windows 10 laptop drive bay, None of these methods worked for me, Would anyone have any other info for me to try to help me please and thank you !!!
I'm really sorry to hear that. Maybe you can try some other tips below to see if they work: - remove virtual drive software. - check your BIOS / UEFI settings and update chipest firmware. Good luck😜
None of these videos ever help, because their is literally no DVD drive on my computer at all. I go to device manager and it's not there. I put the dvd in my computer and absolutely nothing happens, and I have TWO dvd drives, but neither works. I am so done with windows my next computer will be a mac for sure.
Actually, we ususally treat them the same. But there are some differences indeed. Restart=Software OS Shutdown and Software OS Startup (Power is already ON) (Soft/Warm Boot) Reboot=Software OS Shutdown and Power Turned Off (Hard/Cold Boot)
@@DigiartyInc I reloaded windows, reinstalled drivers, followed someone else's tutorial later which was a mistake, pretty sure I bricked the thing..lol..its completely dead now, needed to upgrade real bad anyway, atleast I still got the harddrive and all my stuff, going to pull the important things off and reformat the drive to put in a new pc when I get one, was my own fault for following some unknown guys tutorial, but i was at my wits end, i could have just got an external disk drive and let it be..lessons learned tho

Hmm, The thing is, it shows no error, it says everything works fine in every status window I can open.
But the DVD is still not registered.

Cant execute reg command. power shell says: Access denied
Try running powershell as Admin.

I'm having this issue now. Both virtual dvd/bl/cd drives and my physical blu ray drive have this registry code 19 error. can't find a fix.
I tried option 1, but was met with Access is denied. Why?
you have to run power shell as an adminstrator , type powershell in the windows search bar and choose the admin version .
👉 Solution 2 (01:41) is working 11.01.2022
None of these helped me
The first one does the exact same thing as the last, just a different method of editing the registry. Neither of them work for me.
The second option worked for me. Its the easiest and simplest. Thanks Digiarty....
Glad it helped
me too bro
Please can anyone help both my internal and new external disc drives won’t work when reading or coping cds 💿. Can see they are both there ?
when i did the sloution 1 i got acess denied

I enter my DVD and appears the 📀 I click on it and opens only in folders 📁
My computer sees the drive just fine. It just won't write to the disc. Says to insert a writable disc, though I have inserted a fresh, writeable disc.
Awesome video it helped i used the power shell command in the description
The 2nd method worked for me, thanks!
Very glad it helpded! ✌

none of these methods worked. The bios detects is, but windows doesn't, no matter what I do with it. (just getting rid of it...)
Mine is doing the same. What a stupid thing for Windows to do!
Can you do this for mac book pro 13 please
Thanks for your suggestion, we will try to make a video about Mac next time.
