I read the hard copy of this book about 15 years ago. Enjoyed it immensely. Wonderful narration. I would like to recommend this to anyone having an interest in the beginnings of the Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment.

I wish more people would listen to books like this. It's like being able to stand on the shoulders of giants so that we might see the wonders of a universe they gave everything to discover.

    • @Oscuros

Are you consciously or unconsciously cribbing from Isaac Newton to write that? Either way it looks bad, which is why most people credit Sir Isaac when doing that. If you don't it's hard to tell if your either cribbing or plagiarising him. This is especially if that was what he said when asked about his work. So if you were consciously alluding to him, you'd be standing on *his* shoulders while he stood on the shoulders of giants in the first place, right?

Books like this clicks something on in my brain which in turn manifests itself into hunger. As in, I gotta eat when I’m listening to it. I guess I’m lucky I’m simple enough it doesn’t happen that often. And I ride my bike. If I could find a woman that shares my proclivity, burning those calories would be a lot more fun. Sadly, the “hey baby, you look like you get turned on by relativity. I have got a stash of some great Dolnick at my place “ line at bars has a success rate of 0.00. Libraries, too. And I have the slap marks to prove it.

I can't help but to wonder what people of the 25th century will think of life at the start of the 2nd millennium.....one thought I'm most certain about are the infectious chuckles and head shakes, as they cannot imagine that a people who attained the knowledge and somewhat primitive resources to initiate the exploration of the universe still took that book of mythology ( bible lol ) seriously. And gods, pity them but there were those who silently knew it was only a matter of time. After all people are intelligent, habits are hard to break.
