Hello everyone! Roxane and I continue building the mansion green house. We only call it that cause we feel like it's a lot bigger than what we expected lol. The green house is really starting to take shape. We give you an update on plans for the green house and also the baby bunnies are getting so big! Thank you all for being here, we appreciate you! Anthony I just want to say that I’m very impressed You are my favourite Chanel of the Arkansa homesteaders I’m only watching when you are building things that’s what I’m interested in but I’ve seen you grow in confidence since you have moved there and I think you could have built your house from the ground up .Your mom must be proud of you

I bought 6 folding wooden workshop tables from Lowes for my greenhouse. I used those tables outside inside and in my sewing shed. Anthony could probably make those instead of permanent shelves until you get the feel if that's where you want things. We also used clear siding (polycarbonet) walls and tinted green for the roof. So excited for you Rox. I enjoyed those two spaces for decades.
I love my greenhouse! 10 x 12. You will love yours too! I have plants on the benches, and when I water it drips down and hits whatever is underneath. fyi. Dirt and fertilizer are kept on the bench by the sink. I have an eight inch tub that I use to mix dirt. Shelves above the sink come in very handy. The faucet in my tub sink can have a hose connected to it. I have a 25’ stainless steel hose that is perfect to move around. Enjoy!!!

You will be able to grow greens in the winter for fresh food year round! It will be fun to experiment with what you can grow.

On the bench put a big drop in tub, for mixing first and compost. Your entering a whole new level of gardening.

While watching this, I was thinking that you made the best choice getting the shed to live in. It’s been all finished & beautiful & now you’re building all these wonderful additions to your property! I know that’s exactly what you were thinking when you made your choice too. Plus, you could always add onto your shed if you needed to down the road.
I got a greenhouse for my retirement, it is wonderful! It is a Youderbuilt and has treated wood floors. This is my 2nd year to grow almost all my plants from seeds. You will love it when it is finished!

Might be a good idea to put a water proof membrane on the floor to protect the wood from rot and dirt. Definitely will add to the overall life of your build. Very nice build. Your views are stunning.❤😊
I think it is pressure treated wood and it is above ground..I am sure this was well planned …they seem to research much of their decisions
It’s pressure treated decking with spacing in between each board.
How much sun will the plants get?❤
@@claireburkus8497 I’ve used pressure treated lumber before and it’s not infallible to the elements. Water and dirt from the planters can be an issue in the future. It was just a suggestion 👍
Paint flowers on the outside of the walls after you figure what color you are going to paint the green house, I've seen some of Roxanne's stuff she has painted and she does very nice work. Also the front of the house looks great from a distance with the new porch and the awnings over the windows, very very nice. Sure wish I could have seen Wyatt help with the walls on this it would have just been great for him young boys like that it sure does help their self-esteem to look at something and go look what I did so proud of him being with his dad and his dad teaching him things like this

Suggestion... Have fun with the outside painting of the green house. Maybe a neutral color for the base on the walls, then graffiti flowers on the 4 walls. Google graffiti flowers and you'll get a real good idea of what I'm typing about. Everything is coming along nicely. 👍

Sounds good, but I noticed the beautiful view of the mountain out of the window away from your house. Maybe reverse your floor plan to allow for the large bench under the windows that allow you a beautiful view while you're planting. Just an idea. 😊

Nice greenhouse. I noticed your garden beds are looking awesome. Weed free and the veggie plants are really big already.
cheap and easy way to get water to the greenhouse get a Y hose adaptor add a 2nd hose run it over in a swallow trench wrap the extra hose and hang it on the wall of the greenhouse. just an idea to help whatever you decide will be great can't wait to see what you do.
The greenhouse will be so nice and this winter maybe have some fresh veggies to eat. I think a lemon tree would be so cool too.

You’ll definitely want the U shaped bench in case you need to move plants that have too much sun on one side. Since you have wood floors, you’ll need trays under all your plants. Having a sink will be awesome so you can dump them or bring plants to the sink to water so you don’t ruin your floor. The humidity might do that for you over time. You could lay something over it, like cheap linoleum, loosely so it can be rolled up & replaced.

The greenhouse/potting shed is coming along great and looks so good.
Just a thought maybe you could put a ridge pole up the middle with some industrial hooks in it so if you choose to make hanging basket or plant tomatoes in baskets you will have somewhere to hang them whilst they get started.

Anthony took the words right out of my mouth. I was just fixing to say how about a good exhaust fan to help remove some of the heat out of there and circulate some of the air. What about hanging a long peg board to put hooks on to hang all your hand tools you use and like all your clippers and other things. All your small hang tools and even some of the larger ones as well.
If i built myself a green house. Id do a gable roof or barn style roof. Id do the entire thing in a clear corigated plastic or plexi glass. Id put the window vents in the roof. And on the side. Probably insanely expensive. But thats what i think of when i think of a green house.

Gee just think of all the food that will come out of the greenhouse. My neighbor has a small greenhouse and they have stuff to eat out of it year round. So the work you are putting into it will payoff in the long run. Very professionally done. Love the flower boxes on your home.

When my brother built his greenhouse over thirty years ago, he didn't use OSB wood on the outside of the walls or ceiling. Instead he used
a weird corrigated clear fiberglass 4' x 8' sheets. These clear panels had a special coating on them that ""filtered" the sunlight during the day
and let most of all the sun's rays enter into the greenhouse promoting the growth of whatever was inside. ( There never were any eatable
plants grown inside ). But because of the special coating the stuff inside the greenhouse grew amazingly fast and powerful. That coating
let more of the blue spectrum of sunlight through that most plants use for nutrition. The plastic like panels looked the same as corrigated
metal used for roofing except it was almost perfectly clear. I'm sure it can be found where ever they sell corrigated metal roofing. He told me
they cost about the same as the metal panels and screwed into place just like it's metal companion. The only difference was that the clear
panels he used were much lighter in weight yet just as strong.
If you were to use this type of paneling on your greenhouse your benefits are twofold. 1). Things would grow better because most of the sun
is getting inside the greenhouse ( through the walls AND the roof. ) 2). When finished it wouldn't be an eyesore to anybody from it being almost
transparent. 3). that type of material is easier to handle so the exterior can be built much faster. A win win for all!

Here in England we call it a potting shed, it's going to be amazing and really useful for storing everything you need for growing pretty much anything
They are mislabeling it to get more views/comments. It's called click bait. Most Americans would call it a potting shed also because of the absence of light/windows.

If you have a catch bucket for used water can be used for watering your garden. Great idea.
I'm a little east of y'all and I grow fig trees. Best to start indoors or a greenhouse but can be put outdoors for the spring, summer and fall. After a year plant in the ground! Mini banana trees grow in our region too. Also have a peach tree in it's 5th season so still not producing a lot but it's growing beautifully! We have 4 persimmon trees as well. They're voluntary and the seeds washed down from a mulch pile lol, but they're thriving!
Pretty much any berry will grow in our region as well but with blackberries and raspberries I have to keep them tamed back because they're mighty on hogging space!

If you are going to bring potted plants in and out depending on the season, I would build a ramp to bring them in and out by dolly! ❤❤
