What about Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur? It’s animated by Flying Bark Productions, who also animated Gltich Techs, LEGO Monkie Kid, and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
@@firemaster9293 I’d compare them more to the “runny egg” style of animation you see in Gainax/Studio Trigger anime. Definitely smooth but not like this.

The trick to make it smooth or “flowy” is by adding bounce and extra movement, while also adding in smaller and more frames.
You notice in the kiss scene how amity backs her face away but she looks down first, even when in normal animation she would have just backed away straight (even though she isn’t). This is just a mix of an observation and a hack to other animators
As an animator that seeks out new information, this might help me a lot! I always wondered how they made it so, sooo...

This is somewhat true, you can still achieve a smooth look even with a low fps count, extra movement/adding bounce doesn’t add smoothness, in fact the kiss scene used different fundamental principals of animations, like anticipation, exaggeration, and some overshoot for good measure. alothough more fps and extra movement CAN improve smoothness, I’d mainly say timing between in-betweens, and placement of in-betweens is what will really affects smoothness of movement.

The Owl House is the best show to come out of Disney channel ever. This show does what it wants to and does it astonishingly amazingly. The Owl House is not just a show, but an era. I remember the first time I saw this show, it was an ad during a youtube video. I was interested into the show so much, but we didn’t have Disney+ yet. The next time I saw the owl house it was at my nana and papa’s house. Me and my brother were watching Disney channel and Hunting Palisman came on. This is where my official fascination (and my brother’s crush on Hunter began i think) started. Who knew such a simple show like this can become the most amazing, heartwarming, beautiful show I love so much. Thank you Dana Terrace.
The OWL house is good. But I prfer Gravity Falls.

I started watching it in 2020, just before the last ep of the 1st season was out. I've lived the rest of the hiatus, the crazy theories, the headcanons, the lumity songs when they weren't reciprocating yet, the beginning of the beta versions, living with only knowing half of Hunter's face for like half a year 😂 and the constant hype with the fandom. It's been an incredible and heartwarming journey, but also heartbreaking since the shortened episodes info was made public. It's sad how shows like this are constantly punished. But we, the fans, will always have them in our hearts, forever. The Owl House has become my comfort and favorite show, and how happy it makes me feel won't change, it just will be the reason to be angry with whoever cancelled it and also to try to change this kind of things in the future 🦉😄

I remember when my sister just said "let's watch the owl house", it was around one year and a half ago. I thought it would be just a silly comedy show about a girl who from a nerd has become an immortal witch, like in a simple anime plot. But it is actually way better than I expected, and this is my favorite show now!

The fact that I knew about Spencer before The Owl House because of Drawfee. Dudes gonna be a legend next to James Baaxtar
The first time I heard of Spencer was on drawfee, and I just assumed he was some random animator, but he's apparently one of the most well known and respected animators in the industry.
Fun fact: Spencer also animated for castlevania among other cool things :) (also he was on at lease two episodes of drawfee and even did an animation for their castlevania characters in different tv show styles video) he is a very cool dude!
1:12 bro can we just appreciate how powerful Eda is? I mean to save Luz she straight up took the planks, quickly rearranging it to catch Luz and then moving it to the other side to catch and roll Luz to safety, and don't forget she did that within less than 5 second

WOAHHH I've never seen the sketches of the animations yet, and all the little notes just absolutely amazes me- I wonder what a lot of the notes mean- I know a lot of animation terms, but I still hope to learn a bit more. So freaking smooth-- The animators absolutely impress me.

Amazing work. Just by the animatic alone, you can tell the animation is gonna be awesome. To have that many frames already in just the animatic for it to be so smooth and detailed is dedicated. Depending on the expectations and budget, productions will have different standards on how "complete" a storyboard/animatic should be, and I'm sure a Disney production has higher standards. Regardless, these animatics are simply amazing to look at.
Spencer is such an unbelievably talented animator. I know he did a small animation for his part during a drawfee episode.

Th animation was legit the reason why I was interested in this show. I remember seeing the trailer for the show a good while before it came out and was blown away with hoow smooth it was. I made sure to kp an eye out for when the show finally released. Man it was worth it.
James Baxter would have been my first guess, or an understudy, but Spencer Wan makes so much sense. I still think it's amazing how his studio "Studio Grackle" came to be as an accident, yet it's done lots of cool things in the animation sphere. Makes me miss Castlevania again.

Part of this is the bounce in his work, as well as dramatic movements with clearly well drawn frames, try pausing it off and on, You'll see how small each part is.
This was the best show, it deserves to be longer or have some kind of media.

Love me some Spencer Wan! Another really great animator in the show is Tom Barkel, who animated the kiss scene in S2 and the fight scene in S3 ep 1.
Spencer is amazing! If you want to see more of him he did a collaboration with drawfee on youtube and even showed the process of a owl house styled animation. :)

This channel has kinda shown me that kids growing up with Disney had it GOOD compared to my gen. Off the top of my head, I remember Mickey's House of Mouse (though I think it was closer to the end of its run when I watched it), The Proud Family, Phineas and Ferb, Recess, and that's it as far as I remember (there were definitely more but I was more of a CN and occasionally Nick kid so don't fault me). Y'all got Fish Hooks, The Owl House, Gravity Falls, and Amphibia (probably more but I haven't had cable since 2010 and sadly only know of these).

I’ve always wondered why the animation got ten times better for a minute or two
Usually animation teams have chosen people for certain scenes, you can tell here that the team chose them to do most of the fight scenes or high movement scenes due the ‘smoothness’ within the animation.
I'm sure we'll get at least one more of these in the final episode.

One thing I notice is that they animate “Genga” Style. (Which is common with anime)
I think I see what is going on in the storyboard. As a reminder to the one who is animating, they put numbers so they won’t get lost. That is probably why their animation came out smooth, like butter.
Spencer Wan and The Owl House, the only animation in Disney that’s as smooth as Sasha Waybright’s abs and Moon Girl’s slick skating skills.
What about Tom Barkel? He animated the Lumity kiss in COTH and the fight scene in Thanks to Them
