Your bank app enables you to create and share a Betaalverzoek, a.k.a. a Tikkie. Super handy if you like to send a payment request through WhatsApp. Going Dutch has never been easier. If someone asks you to send a Tikkie then that person wants you to send a Betaalverzoek and he or she will pay you the requested amount.

For the handscanner you only need a bonus card, not the app.

Ah interesting! I always thought it was the app but it makes sense now that I am think about it since you anyway scan bonuscard from the app 😂

When you have paired your Bonuscard to your phone you can use the phone as a scanner.
You can find out how to do this online. Using your phone like this may not be very practical for everyone ( need three hands )
