    This is absolutely the BEST timing! Last year I decided all my gifts from now on will be homemade. Everyone loved it and felt so loved and appreciated, because they saw the gift of thought and time put into each basket. I already have packets of seeds I saved from my garden, small jars of dried herbs, a mini jars of honey from our bees. I'll be adding some of these treats and creams! Thank you so much! God Bless you! ❤

    Oh Wow! Fourth-Burner Pot. So THAT's what that little pot is! I received a little pot as a Christmas gift awhile back that looked like some sort of mini-deep fat fryer, but was really much too small for that. Unfortunately, the wonderful person who gifted it to me became ill and passed away before the gift was ever opened and never got to tell me anything about it. Now I know and can finally put it to good use. THANK YOU!

    Hi Mary, thanks for the great ideas! Just finished home canned goods gift baskets and Amaryllis bulb gifts. So much fun. Question about apple cider vinegar. You said once I made the mother I could skip the whole fermentation with scraps process by adding to the mother. What exactly should I be adding? Water, apple juice, …? Thanks!

    • @MarysNest
      @MarysNest  Рік тому

      Please forgive me. I don’t remember saying that. When making apple “scrap” cider vinegar, you do need apples or scraps, and in actuality, you don’t need the mother. You can put it in, but it will develop naturally when making the vinegar. Love, Mary ❤️🤗❤️

    I never comment BUT, i truely needed these recipes for my health. Here in western mass it is very fifficult to find any prepared food without hfcs(high fructose corn syrup). Since i am intolerant to corn of all kinds including cornstarch, hfcs, corn flour: baking powder contains corn starch and english muffins are made with it but iys not in the ingredients due to the corn not being in the dough and just used as a starch outside the dough to keep it from sticking to baking sheet: Juices contain hfcs and cocoa has dehydrated hfcs. I know that i am not alone in this journey so I am so glad that you have all these options for recipes that are so easy for everyone.

    I loved your gift ideas! I have been purchasing supplies and assembling my recipes or instruction lists for the last month in an effort to be ready to tackle my gift giving list. I even have some of your mix recipes ready to go. I’m on a mission to eliminate the store bought creamer. I purchased a package of hazelnut powder from Azure Standard. It’s only ingredient is hazelnuts grown in the US. I’m wondering if this might work for flavoring the creamer for those who like the hazelnut flavor. I purchased this to use in baking but now plan to try using in flavoring a homemade creamer.
    Hope this finds you doing well. Thank you for the video.

      I find that adding some vital wheat gluten to the whole wheat flour makes for a softer bread and a stronger dough. Also some people add a bit of white flour. I use unbleached all-purpose, maybe half a cup.
      Sometimes it's difficult to get the entire family to accept whole wheat bread. With these 2 additions, I found my family's happy medium.
      Also, if you want to keep the fiber content up, some wheat bran can be added. I find it adds fiber, without adding a "hard" mouth feel.

    Thank you for the great new ideas. My daughter and I have given these types of gifts for years. Some we’ve not thought of before, so thanks. We usually give Vanilla Spiced Rum (we age it minimum 1 yr.) or Hot Pepper Vodka ( for Bloody Mary’s . Depending on the person, the 8 oz vanilla turns into a cocktail 😂.
    We order custom adhesive labels and keep them on hand. Also, we have canned our family’s Ragu and given it with a nice imported pasta.
    Thanks again.

    Thanks Mary, awesome ideas! What about grinding up hazelnuts into a powder to add in for the hazelnut flavor? Would the oil in the nuts damage the milk powder? What about just putting them on the side to add in separately? 🤔

    Torani makes a liquid & natural tasting hazlenut syrup. Either with or without sugar. Love it in my coffee. They have many flavors. Would be good to flavor cookies! Going to try the raspberry. Smart & Final has biggest variety here in Calif. Wal-mart has some

    Hi Mary, I haven't commented on one of your videos for quite a while but this one needs a comment. I haven't watched it all yet, I'm doing a couple of things at the same time, but this is. Perfect timing, of course you know that 😅. I will watch the rest later but had to stop and comment about how you always know what I want when I need it. So many times I have an ingredient or want to know how to do something and your video shows up with that exact thing, I'm not sure how you do it, it's uncanny sometimes. I was thinking the other day about making homemade food related gifts and once again you showed up on time. My favorite memory is the beef tallow face cream 😂😂😂😂😂. Anyway thanks for this video today. Thanks for sharing. During Black Friday got some more Malta items from Totally Bamboo. Have what I need to transcribe. Having trouble with the beginner sites. For the first one, I couldn't get the practice audio to play and they didn't have one for me to test with. For the second, I couldn't figure out what I should charge. For the third, so far haven't passed the test. For the fourth, I applied. Need to make money to take a verification course that will build me a website to find clients. Then hopefully save money for the metal house kit.

    Im a multi tasker, which means i do things unequally inconsistant. But its the best way to get me up and at it. Do you have videos where you can make two or three separate food stuffs, in the same day. The broth recipe seems to be a multitasking deal. Roasting a bunch of meat then roasting the bones, making the broth, then set to drying it for bullion. At the end, cleaning the kitchen. Am i being too optimistic?

    Hi Mary I wonder if you buy subscribers because you have close to a million subscribers but hardly any views. Maybe around 5k views. What's up with that?

    • @MarysNest
      @MarysNest  Рік тому +2

      Oh heavens no! I have never bought subscribers. That would be terrible to do. I teach a broad variety of nutrient dense cooking classes. Some viewers might only be interested in one area such as bone broth. While others may only be interested in ferments. But as you will see, many of my videos overtime, grow to receiving 1 million views as viewers decide to come back and learn a new skill once they master one traditonal foods skill area. My subject matter is evergreen - as opposed to sensational - so views grow overtime - often over years. Hope this help you understand the process of video views to subscribers ratio. Love, Mary
