That's an excellent question.
Yes - God gives us power to confront. Its also about those who have something against us. We must try to reconcile with them. It is selfish if it is all about how we feel. We must think about helping others caught in a trap of hatred against us.
Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
4 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
As a domestic abuse survivor ministering to other women in the same situation, do I then not tell my story? I have forgiven me ex husband but What do I say when they ask why I got divorced? He is a minister and I don’t want to dis credit him
That comes down to a testimony in my mind. As long as you are not speaking with hatred and malice, I think that you are safe to share what you have been through. Maybe do not mention his name if you want to keep his name intact. But if he is dangerous, that is something people should be warned about. I am no authority on this though. I am just a simple Christian. I will be praying for you.
