I prefer the coin.... But that's because not everyone fries with the grits on the outside. The smaller coin shape comes out more crunch per surface area. We likes the crunchy
As a Tennesseean, I can’t wait to see what you go with for TN. Nashville Hot Chicken, Memphis dry rub ribs, Dyers style deep fried cheeseburger, Fried Catfish… so many options in one state. I love the idea of this series.
When you do all 50 states do you think you could make another go around or atleast cook more dishes from different states? This is such a great series and 1 dish per state is awesome but there are so many more dishes
That's the plan as of now, perhaps even open things up even wider (hint hint), but for now I'm rolling down the line. It's reallllllly tough to choose dishes for some of these places, but it's sort of how things have to be done... for now ;) . Thanks for watching homie.
I was inspired by your short today, "easy trick to make fried pickles at home". While the batter alone looks good in the short, I'm going to try your version of dry and wet from this episode even though I don't care for cornmeal breading because I trust your recipes, and these look TOO good as is! 😋👏
I have never tried these being from England but I have got to say they look very delicious. I usually just eat Gherkins out of the jar or have them with soup, salads or anything. I am addicted to them.
Love the content! With Florida can you do Cuban sandwiches? Maybe Tampa vs. Miami style? It's called a Cuban sandwich (cause of the bread) but it is an American melting pot sandwich!
This was the first time I ever saw one of Your videos. I did give You a like and Subscribed to Your channel. This looks delicious! I have always wanted to learn how to make Fried Pickles. Thank You for sharing Your talents with Us. I cannot wait to try this one 😊🙏🏽😈
See ok- I’m on neither side of this, so when I was like 15 I made something truly cursed… the Spiral fried pickle on a stick. Basically took a pickle, cut like how you would for spiral potatoes basically and then dried it off, made my dredge of hella seasoned flour and cornstarch. wet part of eggs buttermilk and hot sauce. And finally the actual coating of a mix of panko breadcrumbs, and regular breadcrumbs for a mixed texture because I’m a weirdo- was a fun time to try though you need a wide ass pan or a deep fryer(which is what I used) in order to make this monstrosity. I still stand by this is the best way to fry a pickle. The extra surface area really helped it get super crunchy and it didn’t have as much Bald spots for some reason- granted I did over dredge is kinda
I was all in, until I heard Navi yell "Hey! listen!" and got really distracted. I like coins better cause I mean, I feel like the thing about battering things is you like the batter, right ? So surface area & ratio. Equal parts batter & pickle!
I prefer the spears. Most restaurants serve the coins, but the first time I had them were spears when I lived in Jonesboro. After moving across the state, I was only able to find the coins. It's been slightly disappointing. The spears were pretty damn special and one of my favorite foods. Coins are good, but nothing special. Thank you for sharing the recipe!
@@AdamWitt ha! That'll show you...I still subscribed anyway because I liked the content. I bookmarked your site too...but pretty please link directly to the recipe next time :)
I’m pregnant craving pickles a lot & this look soooooo good 😩

Team Crunch stand up!
I prefer the coin also. Here in Houston Texas we call them bottle caps
I like both, but i LOVE coins because it has a less chance of holding lava juice that will burn me when i bite into it😂
Hahah, that's a fact. Mouth burns aren't fun, but it comes with the territory.

Awesome! Lmk how it turns out.

The flat sandwich stackers are the best of both worlds
Really enjoying this new series!

Not sure about the Cornmeal on outside. Maybe a higher amount of Corn starch with the recipe and 86 the cornmeal?
Love your channel and your recipes sir! Keep up the great work!

Don't know why I only just found your channel...dang. These look great. Have you tried this recipe in an AirFryer?
Look amazing I will definitely try it! ❤ thank you!!

Hahah, word! Yeah that's my buddy's track. He does all my music - Melodeyes on soundcloud
Most definitely, the coin! ❤
I love this series! *cries in Wyoming*
You're from Wyoming?? What should we make for it?
@@AdamWitt Would you be down for Rocky Mountain Oysters?

Spears!
You should do alligator for florida. Carribean-style dishes are cool but alligator is hella underrated
Did you use yellow grits.. or yellow corn meal? You said grits one time...and meal the next time. Which did you use?

Great stuff! 👌
I love the spears.
Killing it dude
we out here. Thanks mane.
chips over spears bc you get better exterior coverage and it doesn't go falling off of the skin (as seen in almost every spear-shot)
You should do a continent series next! Cook the national dish of every country in Europe, mate
i gotta try this one!!
Showed some Cali love and shared the video to my group chat of degenerates! Can't with for the two parter!
my dude! ty. Say whatup to squad for me.
Both!
Looks yummy
Three words: Apple Cider Donuts.
Highly recommend as a New Yorker
Coin vibe eh!
That looks delicious 😋
good vid man!
I'm a girth brooks pickle guy
Spears are the only way to go, crust to pickle ratio is better
okay the spear may have won my heart this time…
Can you do breadcrumbs instead of cornmeal
totally. I just like the crunchy corn texture.
Coins for me, more surface area for breading
I prefer coin shape for fried pickles
As a Tennesseean I involuntarily cringed when you called Arkansas "down south" lol
Coins>spears
slay
What’s with all the spear haters
Why can't you simply link directly to the recipe? Instant turn off.

Whyyyyy so much talkinggg in the intro??? 😂😂😂
Coins only. Everyone else is a blasphemer.

GROSS....MSG and cornstarch???? NO WAY!
Absolutely nothing wrong with either.
What foul creation is this….
