All those moments are warm and sweet, and a GENUINE proof of how Mr Bennet loves his girls!! Even his "Look at that! People!" is said with a smile! As if he expected it, and is now so used to it that he sees it as part of his family's charm! Mister Donald Sutherland was a tremendously great actor!
Mr Sutherland was a favorite actor of so many he will always be remembered in my heart for his role as MR BENNET I fell hard for him 😍Peace and Love to his Family now and 4- ever.
Mr. Bennet, poor emasculated thing. Donald Sutherland nailed the part. And to think that most of his parts have been of ruthless characters… what an actor!
Oh, how I love Mr. Bennet. Yes, the estrogen storm must be awful. I feel it keenly myself. People telling me I’m married or that I’ve been on a date and all I’m doing is reading Donne and Milton at the library.
The greatest book ever written he was the perfect Mr Bennett , and Brenda Blethyn was terrific , she was so wrong as Lizzie . The perfect Darcy and Lizzie was The BBC series they were perfection
As funny as he is, I feel a slight dislike towards him for being such a negligent father, given the time period and the situation the women would end up in after his death.
I think the 2005 version (and maybe just watching the events through modern eyes with less of an expectation on the father's role as head of household in charge of shepherding his daughters to prosperous marriages and security) is a little bit kinder and less interrogatory to Mr. Bennett's failings as a father than the book was. But I also feel like the 2005 movie is kind of the story seen through Lizzie's eyes, and that's why he's somewhat easily excused is because Lizzie looks up to him
RIP Donald Sutherland. You were my favourite Mr. Bennet.
He was my favorite Mr. Bennet as well!
Love the relationship between Lizzie and her dad. Well played Donald ! Some if the best scenes 👍💕
I understand why he loved the quiet of his study. And those orchids of course.
I loved Donald Sutherland in this version!! Very understated with wry humor!! I think his performance was magnificent!!
2005 Mr. Bennet was literally my favorite character in the entire movie.
Rest in peace Donald Sutherland 💔, My condolences to your family, friends and innumerable fans 😔

He was the best damn character because if he wasn't the way he was, Elizabeth wouldn't be the way she was
Until I was born, my father and all my uncles had only daughters, all of them remind me of mr Bennett in more ways than one.
true strong man can handle that many women all the time. they are all his family. and he is a great father to all the girls.
What a man, what a talent ♥️
This one is a real bummer :(
I thought he should have won an award!!
Donald Sutherland is a legend.
I loved Donald Sutherland in this role.

One of the most beloved Mr Bennet. RIP Donald Sutherland.
Mrs Bennet running full blast in those little heels is still one of the greatest things I've ever seen.
Mr Sutherland was a favorite actor of so many he will always be remembered in my heart for his role as MR BENNET I fell hard for him 😍Peace and Love to his Family now and 4- ever.

Emasculated?? Not at all!! He was quietly but firmly masculine. I loved him in this role. No one could have played it better.
No one:
The subtitles: *have you no compassion for my poor knobs*
1:21 one of my favorite lines... just as it was in the book.

and now he is completely at his leisure.
Mr and Mrs Bennet are so funny. Great actor

I loved his portrayal! reminds me quite a bit of my own father.
I have a great dad and yet I wanted Donald Sutherland to be my grandpa and father.

My Lord!

I totally get what you mean. And while Mrs. Bennet is insufferable, she really is trying to be the best parent she can.
