    Very nice and with a lot of video information. Of course tourists are interested in the beaches and archaeological sites, but if one goes up to the mountains of Arcadia, he will forget the sea. There are beautiful lakes and waterfalls, stone villages and green forests, which of course see the sea from above. I recommend Lake Tsivlou and Lake Doxa, just for a change.

    If it is beach you are after. There is no better beach than Voidikilia in the Peloponnese. No beach umbrellas, no beach lounges, no cafes, you have to bring everything your self and take it with you when you leave. And that is the way the locals want it to stay. Last couple of ks is shared road, but worth it. Sandy beach, like swimming in a glass of water. It will not disappoint.

      Thank you, glad they help. I would love to RV the Peloponnese but my wife isnt up for it.... I didn't put these areas in the vid to keep it simple but you may want to go down the road from paralio Astros to Monemvasia via Leonidio, great coastal raod and RV's often stop along there, plus look at Methana, near to Poros and Porto Cheli. Drop me a line if you are near Paralio Astros.

      Thanks Andrew , in 2018 we were based in Finikounda. For 10 days . It was such a thrill to discover your wonderful presentations and revisit our time in Pylos , Methoni, Finikounda, & Koroni surrounds. We are so grateful to learn more from you about the above area and the balance of the Peloponnese. Our timing is dictated by our grandson who is joining us from London in his school holidays , Jane loves the heat , so Jack & I will have to fall into line ! We are loving our time here so far . @@GreeceExplored Dear Andrew how could you missed the phenicular train from the little city of Diakopto to the historic village of Kalavryta over the river in the canyon of Vouraïkos? It's the absolute best train ride if not of all of Europe but to the Balkans at least. And there are 2 at list places in the end of the line someone should visit. The monastery of Mega Cave and the cave lakes in the area. In that grappled on the rock monastery are many historic artworks and paintworks from even the first years of AD in Greece. Also relatively close is the monastery of Agia Lavra were Revolution against Ottomans was declared and the first Hellenic flag was raised. Also has many interesting artifacts.
      For last I saved a place which is in included in the World Guiness Book of Records. It's a tiny chapel northwest of Sparta and Kalamata to the west of Megalopolis in the village of Vasta Or Vastas. It's the wondrous chapel of St Theodora and has 17 trees growing through its walls on its roof ( 17 was the age that Theodora was when she was executed). A truly unsual site the only one existing in the world.

      Not that I am aware of, no, there are trains from Athens to Corinth, but that is it, there is a venicular railway in the middle for scenic tours, but I think it is only about 20 miles long. • @GreeceExplored
      @GreeceExplored  Місяць тому +2

      Corinth was demolished by the Romans in 146bc, and the current Ancient Corinth was built in 44bc, by the Romans. Similarly if you go to Argos, the majority of the ruins there are Roman in origin, such as the Baths etc. Not trying to denigrate these Greek places, but the majority of those 2 ruined sites are historically Roman creations.,
