Thanks for the video. Exactly what I needed to see, I broke a bolt in my spool valve trying to replace the gasket and ended up just replacing the whole valve. Did you do a valve adjustment after messing with the rocker arm?

Is this the part that will fix the problem of the alternator getting soaked in oil, I cange my sisters about every 2 years someone told me this was it, and what all comes in the kit?
@WayneSamples-ef1kr well you're going to need a new valve cover gasket along with the sealant for the spool valve. That was not their problem on this one I don't think this is just a spool valve problem. I do have many videos on these Hondas because that is a very common issue with oil leaking down into it and that will fix it. i hope this video helps. feel free to like and subscribe for more & if you can, please help the channel out by giving a super thanks. I have a 2012 accord 6-6 coupe and had honda replace the engine with a used one because of a failed timing belt tensioner. Ever since then i havent had vtec and the garage switched hands so i never went back. I figured my vtec solenoid or spool valve was bad and found your video and decided to tackle it today. Well i found out that my engine doesnt have this spool valve??? Did they put the wrong engine in my car??
Very odd but may just have been an older engine without that which is good because those valves suck! Always going bad and always leaking killing the alternator. @AnythingAuto so does that mean now I don't have vtec at all since I don't have one of these spool valves? Or is it just in a different place or works a different way? And I'll definitely like and subscribe to you I really appreciate the help because I can't find much info anywhere about this.
The V6 in a manual transmission Accord should be a J35Z3. It's different from most of V6s of that time (J35Z2) because it's one of the few that doesn't have VCM: Variable Cylinder Management. So it has a different solenoid set up.

It may not show it in this video but if you watch my other Honda spool valve Replacements I usually just leave the bolts in their location so when I pull up the valve cover I leave them in the valve cover I try not to take any of them out because you'll end up with 30 or 40 bolts in the end I have many videos on this on all different types of Hondas so I would check out the other videos if you'd like.
