The first Ningen Isu song I heard was Great King of Terror, which I liked so I looked for more. Having read a lot of H.P. Lovecraft in my teenage years, one particular song - The Colour Out of Space - caught my eye, so it became my second Ningen Isu experience. It's fair to say that by the time the song ended, I was a fan for life. There's something about their distillation and blending of classic heavy metal and prog rock tropes with their own Japanese literary/mythological twist that works brilliantly. It's great to see how much you're enjoying your dive into their extensive catalogue. Cheers!
These guys are great. The Colour Out of Space was my intro to them only a couple of years ago. Having read the Lovecraft story in the very early 70's, the same time I was listening to early Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, I just had to click to check them out. One sure can hear the influence of those early metal bands in their music, but they have added to it in a good way. And Heartless Scat made me a fan for life.
A good one for sure, Diddy. I would welcome more Ningen Isu.
Ken-ichi Ken-ichi Ken-ichi!
Recomended - Ningen Isu - Namahage and " mountains of madness "
Ningen Isu MV "Love Nirvana" is a good choice to react too.
Thanks for this, love it!
Their music is something else altogether. They seem like prog long before prog was a thing..... (Of course I'm exaggerating, they're not that old right?).
Their lyrics.... oh man.... I wish someone would interview them, translate the interview into English, and put it out on UA-cam. I would love to know how these geniuses think...
You know what? I agree!!
They do have a two-part interview on the NIngen Isu channel they did before the 2020 EU/UK tour. Look for "【For Overseas fans】Interview about EU tour in English by Leo Imai /part.1"
@@twoffo That's cool. Let me search that up...
Check out their cover of 21st Century Skitzoid Man. I think it's from the 90s
Best cover of the King Crimson classic that I have heard; even more impressive when you remember they are just a three-piece group.
Ningen Isu have joined The Warning and Motörhead on my list of top favorite bands :)
A few live performances you will want to check out at some point are "At the Mountains of Madness" and "Odoru Issunboushi", or if you want to hear the drummer sing go for "Chou-nouryoku ga Atta nara". Also, Tokuma Japan is their current label so the channel is legit for Ningen Isu content (they have a playlist for their Ningen Isu videos), but they have a bunch of other bands, too.
*Japanese Black Sabbath*
23 albums.... for now.
Liking it Didy.
Definitely a great band. It's my first time seeing them.
I've looked through your video lists & realised that you have not done any reactions to 'Lovebites' yet. I find that strange as they are usualy spoken about in the same breath as Bandmaid & Babymetal when talking about Japanese girl bands. It would be great if you could do a reaction to them. Their live performances are their best work in my opinion. 'Holy War' is usually a great introduction to these 5 women. ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.html It gives the essence of the band but in no way shows any of their limitations.
I can promise you that Lovebites are on my huge list of bands and songs to react to, so they will come 😁😂🤘
