- It’s Jaf Jefferson’s day in the pigeon hide. Best-known as a ferreter, Jaf loves the summer sport of decoying, and David joins him to find out why. It’s a story that goes back to Jaf’s grandfather. Meanwhile, Tom Davies is stalking on Dartmoor and avoiding the tourists that are such a feature of Britain’s national parks for a few weeks every summer. I don’t watch it very often but seeing a different pigeon shooter for a change got my attention, much more with jaf would be a refreshing change 👍

Hi Charlie, no mention of the ‘GL43: licence to release common pheasants or red-legged partridges on certain European sites or within 500m of their boundary’ situation and the continued psychological pressure gamekeepers are under? What we need is constant exposure to this problem and updates on how the likes of BASC and the other organisations are fighting the shooting estates corner.
Thanks for this. We've done a few features on GL43 in the last few weeks and we got a picture of Coffey as a cauliflower into the Daily Mail. As far as I know, the story hasn't changed much since last week. We'd still be better served with a vegetable as DEFRA secretary. I think we're doing as much as we can. / Charlie
Many thanks Charlie for your reply. It’s just that I know 2 shoots that still haven’t had a go ahead from DEFRA yet despite several appeals for the license to be granted. What do you think they should do next?@@fieldsportstv
