i am such a fan of Rodney and his researches, especially his talk in TedEx. Changes the way we care, perceive and feed our dogs at home. My dog iMac, a golden, lived to 14. He died last Sunday. We are glad it wasn't cancer or diet issues that he died of (he died because his hereditary bad hips eventually gave out and made him paralysed). Good to know that the dog outlived his body (any a way, though, but still sad). I have shared your UA-cam video filmed in TedEx to so many dog owners and hope their lives are changed too, Rodney! Rodney, thank you from me & my wife & my 13 yo Cocker Spaniel, Latte. With love, Andrew from KL, Malaysia. I subscribed to you straight away just now
Hi Rodney, Awesome podcast. Iam a parent of a golden retriever (first time) here in Dubai and loved the session and Ryan's approach. Really truth to the bone.thank you !
I am so glad I have found you and your team (family)- I have recently rescued a 7 yr old female boxer/beagle mix- I have so many questions about what the right food is for her. Your videos are soooooooo helpful. THANK YOU!!!!!
This was an AMAZING podcast I learned SO much. I’m certainly late to the game on this one but it literally only popped up on my feed today!! Damn Algorithms!!! Greetings from Ireland. 🍀🐶❤️
Great podcast! My family have been breeding boxers for 20+yrs(hobby breeder, 6 dogs), we call ourselves 'simi-raw' feeders, that is around 25%--35% commercial kibble mix with raw meat. The reason for the kibble is mostly convenience. I can't stop thinking if our dogs could have lived longer with just raw.
Cheers for the Video clip! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you researched - Ariamon Aquarius Agamid (search on google)? It is a great one of a kind guide for learning some healthy recipes for your dog food without the normal expense. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my buddy finally got astronomical results with it.
My only negative comment is to say stay in your lane, I am an APRN, I remember in the 90 when JCAHO added pain assessment as the 5th Vital Sign and importance of pain management and I agreed that the sooner we assess and manage pain the less pain medication and length of time patient would probably need pain meds. I am old now and thus my eyes open and do I doubt the pharmaceutical company probably having a hand in the “opioid crisis” NO! Having said that the DEA and insurance companies had NO place telling medical professionals how to care for patients! Having said that, I really enjoyed this video and I appreciate you speaking out about the problems with pet foods.
This was super informative! Great podcast! So according to Dr. Ryan Yamka, what is the best/most healthy dog food to get for an active male Gordon Settter! I mean, its such a jungle and so many different opinions from even vets... So what are the average consumer to do?
I fed my dog raw complete meals from 4 months old when I changed him from the kibble that the breeder gave us. His food is made by a small local producer in England. We buy it in 500g frozen packs and they won the pet food industry best award in the UK. Its quite expensive when they're puppies due to the amount they eat, but the cost is halved once they're fully grown due to requiring less food.
Great podcast. Ryan is terrific. I actually work for a premium pet food company and really enjoyed learning more about the DCM issue. Our company was lucky enough to NOT be called out on that FDA list, but to hear the perspective from someone outside of our company was good. Thanks Ryan for having free information on your website for us to peruse as well.

For Instinct another more cost effective option is the kibble + raw variety. I also make some of my own food for my dogs cheap by buying gizzards or liver, ground lean turkey, eggs, beans, and frozen peas/carrots from Walmart. I don’t feed homemade exclusively to make sure my dog does not become deficient in anything. ALSO FDA recently quietly updated saying that there was no conclusive evidence at all that grain free causes DCM, and a lot of dogs eating big commercial brands also had DCM cases... What I think is that kibble should probably just be avoided if possible, or only used along with some more nutritious food.

Akc partners with purina on research what a joke. Most breeders I know personally feed raw or home cooked. I am sure they are a small % but their numbers are growing mainly because of the cancer rates with commercially fed dogs. If it is true that Legumes increase arthritis pain in humans is it true for dogs? Last I knew the best nutrition research was coming out of Norway is this still true?
I read to avoid grain-free due to canine dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), and only if your dog has an allergy at best use grain-free. I know my dog's breed (golden retriever) has a high death rate with grain-free.
Orejen tundra or regional red are the best grain free kibble out there my bull terrier and blue pit mix have never had any issues on it, never had to go to the vets, my bull terrier i had before lived to over 14, he was fed orijen regional red, he had no health issues.
@Cali Girl If your grain-free food has potatoes or potato starch it's probably not high quality. I feed Acana Regionals. It has no potatoes and his stools are more solid on this food than it is with high quality grain inclusive dog foods.

can you recommend some cat food for a cat with UTI , all urine tests are normal but the cat goes outside the box
Why do people use dog food bins? Is it okay to use a 3.5 lb bag and just leave the food in the bag that it was sold in? Cuz I never transfer my dogs food.
Love it and the info
Plus isn't true that dogs only see a few colours? Some colours they don't see at all.
Only a homemade, grain free diet for my dog. No processed food in 3.5 years.
live and learn after 40 years i run my own show with my dogs and my life.its all about the money nothing else
Ryan Yamka what in your opinion is the best food for dogs?
You have all of these people telling you what not to feed, but no one including Ryan Yamka will come out and say if I had to feed kibble this is what I would feed.
@@jerryknight549 I'm trying to find the link to order.!!!!
@@MKBuddy1 my dog was just diagnosed with diabetis, and it has to be because of the kibble she has been on all these years. Now I need a food that is high protien and low carbs.
Yes Rodney, Ryan Yamka is gangsta!!!! Thank you Both
talk about being brainwashed by advertising i feed raw and your spot on every flippin commercial raw started popping up with wolves in their name or on packets
Any recommendations for vegan or vegetarian dog food. My dog likes veggies more then meat and will not touch raw semi cooked at all
Dogs need animal protein, they are carnivores. They will not get essential nutrients from only plants.
What about companies like Farmers dog, Ollie , Pet Plate etc.
Legumes are anti inflammatory.
@@darrenmcfeaters6683 legumes are a gluten and does cause inflammation in humans if they are sensitive to it. I am not too sure about dogs.
Fun fact. The Jedi were actually the bad guys if you read the books.
No one in the comments asking about his dog food. What is wrong with society today
Hello Rodney, what's the best way I can get samples of dog food for myself and a meetup group I run? thxs
So is grain-free generally good or bad?
I read to avoid grain-free due to canine dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), and only if your dog has an allergy at best use grain-free. I know my dog's breed (golden retriever) has a high death rate with grain-free.
Orejen tundra or regional red are the best grain free kibble out there my bull terrier and blue pit mix have never had any issues on it, never had to go to the vets, my bull terrier i had before lived to over 14, he was fed orijen regional red, he had no health issues.
Only the expensive food 9-13KG in one bag, you need to know how to read the ingredients...
Why is anyone even asking this if they listened to the video? The DCM scare was BS!
@Cali Girl If your grain-free food has potatoes or potato starch it's probably not high quality. I feed Acana Regionals. It has no potatoes and his stools are more solid on this food than it is with high quality grain inclusive dog foods.
what is the best vitamin supplement
Nuvet Plus K9
I wish I could say they have fallen but too many people still too lazy to even learn about raw food.
wouldn't a real wild diet have tripe in it?
Nick Offerman
