Great thing about small cars is they pick up quickly then level out. Recently sold a 03 yaris and it was one of the quickest cars off the mark I've driven and got faster towards the red line insane. Smoked many a new car in it. Shit test thing is a 5 speed box.
@@fasttrackblastback8286 It's the same with bikes, I've got a little 125 with 11bhp @8000rpm, but since it's only 110kg it'll pretty much do most cars off the mark, also just stupidly fun to rev them out and blast them around town and country lanes.

I love builds where it's something small and light with very little power stock, then modded enough to get reasonable power but not so much that you can't get on it off the track. Also that ITB setup sounds so damn nice!
For the time these were decent cars for a young driver. That's why there's not many left now 😂😂 these cars weren't even seen as "too wild for young drivers" so we're cheap to run. Nowadays you don't get cars like this available. It's all boring 1ltr 3 pots or expensive gtis or s3s etc. That's why the VW pd engine is still popular now. I'm guessing the 4-pot brakes need a lot more fluid to move the pistons over standard. They're probably bigger and probably at least twice as many pistons. Actually being an east coast, it prob came with single pots on the front lol I'd look into a master cylinder to match. Nice build

One of the cheapest cars for a young guy to learn how to take a correct turn.. the saxo and the peugeot 106.. you can have lots of fun with a stock 1.6 125hp car like that all day, any day.. they still use these here in Greece.
Very typical choice for a Portuguese young man :) Saxo's and 106's were amongst the most popular "fast" cars for young Portuguese drivers 15-20 years ago, EG civics and CRX's were very popular as well. The trend has shifted for turbo diesel VAG cars, due to higher MPG and cheaper to make horsepower!

i’ve got a gold vts with cat cams 743 with 1ltr box with 4inch poweflow straight threw pipe and super sprint 4-1 mani 👌
Those fender flares are stock? The car looks and sounds so dope! Love the stance as well.
Yeah the West Coast / VTS / VTR had them stock, looks really cool for sure thanks for commenting
Called wings
That clio is looking awesome, can't wait to get my 182 back on the road 😀
One of the cheapest cars for a young guy to learn how to take a correct turn.. the saxo and the peugeot 106.. you can have lots of fun with a stock 1.6 125hp car like that all day, any day.. they still use these here in Greece.
New that skid was coming 😂
Johnathan is a nightmare 😂
That's a wicked little car 👌🏼
I can't wait to get my corsa b quattro finished and get it on the channel
Very typical choice for a Portuguese young man :) Saxo's and 106's were amongst the most popular "fast" cars for young Portuguese drivers 15-20 years ago, EG civics and CRX's were very popular as well. The trend has shifted for turbo diesel VAG cars, due to higher MPG and cheaper to make horsepower!
This video takes me back 10 years, I really want to get another saxo/106. It'd be my 7th 😂😂😂
Saxo serial buyer confirmed
There is a person in the Netherlands with a peugot 106 with a k20 swap absolute madness
I love my saxo VTR. I sold a cayman S and kept the saxo, way more fun
Looooove this kind of little car ❤️ . Nice owner as well.
Great build! what's the brand of the ITBs?
Think Jenvy bro says it in the video at one point ❤️
@@monkylondon got it Stachell Engineering thanks
Still to this day a saxo VTS is my favourite car 👌🏻
Such a thrill because you know if you crash it you’re dead.
videos like this make me miss my saxo so much!!!
Maybe get another one and relive them glory days! Much love
@@monkylondon if only 😂😂 they sit about 2500/3000 now days! I already have 3 on my drive lol, one rust bucket, on write off and one petrol guzzling st220.
Maybe one day lol
Sick video! Makes me wish i knew how to work on cars as well as being brave enough to haha ... instead of paying a fortune in labour for fitting bits! Got a 240bhp fiesta ST which is good fun but the sound of that saxo is nutty
That's what great about older cars like this much simpler. Grab a Halfords Advance tool kit and a cheap motor and send it. 240hp still sick in a Fiesta nice one
Everyone has to start somewhere dude! UA-cam is a big help especially with something like an st, will be a video for everything on one of those 👍
I’ve had 2 attempted thefts of my st in last 2 weeks by the same people, think I might have to stockpile driver side windows
Does anybody know the name of the song at 6:00
Jamie Duggan - This is Sick
I love the old cars but in this day and age I'd only drive one of these fast with a cage in 🤣 don't fancy having an 90s style death in 2023
Bigger master cylinder might sort the brake feel
Better pads too. I had one of these back in the day and the ds2000? pads were the way to go. Or carbon loraine. Green stuff were pony! Cool motor you still can’t beat ITB’s and a lightweight chassis. Cool.
I remember my vtr brake pedal was terrible aswell, the rest of it was cool as tho... But not as cool as his of course 👍
Quality vid when my car is done it would be cool to have it featured on here!
Anyone got any tips on how to pick up an old Mk5 zetec s? Had my 2001 took off me by old bill (naughty boy) and can't seem to find one anywhere
With the four pots probably needs a 23/24 mil master cylinder
What's sad you don't see many about anymore.
Yeah a lot were rolled by John's, great to see a few still about. Thanks for coming along and commenting appreciate it
My pleasure. I enjoy the videos.
I had a Saxo VTR, now I have a Mk7.5 GTI 😎
loved this wee thing!!
he needs a larger master cylinder when going for the 409 brembos
Beytek in da house 😍😍😍
@@monkylondon ohhh herro, Man ya just gotta love these old hatches, where it all began for so many of us.
ive seen him literally yesterday lol i think it was somewhere along the way to seven sisters cliffs
That wouldnt have been me mate, Few hours away from me that. Good to see someone else enjoying theirs.
@@rodrigodias2361 basically the same looking saxo then haha
Nice job bro💪👍🤝💯🔥
Nice love a nice little hot hatch :)
