This is what I hate about F1 with the FOM cameras and not seeing these amazing footage of the cars close up.
I understand, but having tv cameras this close in actual race/qualifying speed is pretty dangerous, plus the inside of the corner is where there’s more likely a crash to happen, so it’s even more dangerous then having cameras on the outside of the corner.
But yeah I agree, it looks very cool and it’s a shame
@@amir_oates yeah but there is also no need to put the cameras 2km away at the end of the straight looking at a static car coming at you. Thats why some races are snoozefests.
@@amir_oates You're being silly, there are plenty of ways to do it safely.
@@amir_oates they had to consider it safe to let Brundle and those marshalls stand there...
Ofcourse it is safe, he is wearing a mask!
1:03 I think Brundle went back in time for a second there
I thought the same for a second there too but if you go back and listen you can just hear him say "the McLaren and Hamilton"
Is that Glock?!-type beat
@@blaisesingleton9327 No Mclaren went past when he said it tho 😂
@@blaisesingleton9327 i can confirm that he said "as the Mclaren OF Hamilton goes past" since there is no audible sound that is similar to the way brundle says "and" thus making the statement that he said that the "Mclaren of Hamilton goes past" to be true. An addition is that from observation, no mclaren went past in the next 10 seconds of hamiltons pass
@@costagiourtis2531 it was a merc
Martin is such a fantastic man for the job. He is not just experienced, knowledgeable and eloquent. He's a real fan. That's what makes him great. If he wasn't doing this job, he'd still be in that exact spot.
with yellow flag up and security guards ushering him out
And incredibly biased.
"lewis in his mclaren" 😅
Lulu on his mind always
He's a gentleman
At 1:22 when the McLaren zoomed past and the camera panned after it I thought the car would only be at the end of turn 15 but no it has already gone past the apex of turn 16 and is approaching the next corner. Absolutely insane.
Mclaren caught teleporting, will be banned next season
what about the redbull? by the time the camera panned round it was gone.
seriously ? how can we be so bad at predicting? Are you really surprised that a formula 1 is faster than a cameraman? people are really so far from reality. the number of likes scares me
If the corner they’re standing on counts as 15 and the corner across is 16 idk wtf is so surprising to be completely honest.
@@T6Demo it's a corner that every other car on the planet would have to slow down for, F1 absolutely tears through it. even Brundle is shocked at how fast a modern f1 can go through there, so how about you and your mate above dont be dicks?
They need to add this type of camera angle on urban circuits, its amazing. This is more entertaining than the normal broadcast on circuits like Monaco
But you then can't see the sponsor logos on the cars! Think of the poor sponsors!
F1 do not have a choice around Monaco, as the Monaco GP has its own TV director instead of using F1’s usual TV Director
@@stibblr you act like, even if F1 had control, they'd utilise cameras like this.
F1 do have fixed angle camera on races especially on Street circuits like Baku, Jeddah and Singapore. In normal race tracks they have fixed camera but it is mostly found on the inside the curbs.
The experience and knowledge that Martin has, absolute asset to Sky and F1 in general
Not to mention the entertainment value of watching him walk the grid before the race.
1:02 "I'm absolutely astounded, As the Mclaren of Hamilton goes through" - Martin Brundle, 2021 Monaco GP
Now that's some real Deja Vu
Martin went back in time to 2008.
That confused the hell out of me 😂
Thought he said “As the McLaren and Hamilton goes through”
I would've gave it to you if the McLaren had passed through@@Andre-ch5qx
@@Andre-ch5qxWhat Mclaren though?
1:09 as the mclaren of Hamilton goes thru he’s re-living the glory days 😂
I remember talking to a professional photographer, he stood there once making pictures zoomed in, standing right against the guardrail, and thus couldn't move out of the way for incoming cars, so at one point, a car took the corner a tad too sharply, and slammed the rail and his leg behind it, luckily he didn't break anything, but he said it gave him a MASSIVE bruise.
Which is why you usually get told to not rest on the barriers as a photographer.
I usually take some risks when taking photos. I don't think this is one I'm going to take... 60kmh road cars already do fatal damage. 300kmh... no thanks!
@@groundedgaming yes i think i read somewhere once that if you are caught leaning on barriers as an f1 photographer they can take your credentials away
Brundle goes back to 2008 in a moment 😂
"And then you can see the furniture, in the middle of the track and they've got to go around"
Martin brundle is the best
Ii imagined a sofa there lol
He has the best race coverage advantage. This is the perspective every race fan would like to see most of the race. Up close action!
wow, im so glad i stumbled upon this video. such an amazing perspective
“As the McLaren of Hamilton goes through” - Martin has been around a long time 😂
A static angle watching the cars move dynamically is what we need
1:04 he says the McLaren of Hamilton 😆
McLaren of Hamilton🤣🤣🤣
Brundle is still living in 2008 😂
Probably it's so loud hes unsure of saying McLaren with Mercedes
@@NSBlanchi So am I. Sound wise.
Sorry! Force of habit!😂
You stole my idea 😂
1:50 dam that alpha tauri sounds good
Honda engine!!!
Brap brapppmm
that sound made me feel some type of way🥴
alpha tauri and Red bull had the best sounds in person when i went to Le Castellet last year
sounds like dog shits. You started watching last year or something? go listen to some 90's and early 00's cars
“As the McLaren of Hamilton” 😂😂 HES HAVING FLASHBACKS
**sad Felipe Massa noises**
*Sad Ferrari noises*
0:50 I always loved how Gnarly the Honda Engine sounded!
These are the views I love when I go to racing events. Granted most events I go to are dirt oval events here in the US, favorite place to be is sat down low, on the outside of one of the turns, right next to the wall which cars will be next too if theyre running up high.
Went to the Long Beach GP one year, and theres a spot on the back straight where you could get quite close, where the cars were likely doing ~140mph.
So low you get sprayed with dirt
@@Bzorlan How can you get sprayed with dirt on an asphalt track??
@@sopateioLEGO "Granted most events I go to are dirt oval events here in the US"
nothin better than beer with dirt n race fuel in the air.
I occasionally remember this trackside spot view whenever Martin Brundle does it on any other track, none of them came close to this. I was watching this live and felt like I was there with him it was magical lol. He is the only person I like on Sky Sports F1 with JB.
Daaamn this really shows us how fucking fast those cars are going through corners never saw them at such a close up view
0:52 Redbull roaring Gosh redbull always sounds amazing
honda
Idk why but the cars sound so much better and aggressive from this POV. I could hear the turbos as they lift then the roar as they pass the apex. I wish you could hear them throughout the race like this 😔
2021 Monaco GP is one that i will specially remember, loved that race ❤
You enjoyed all 1 overtakes.
@@Jamo_7811 fuck yeah xD
I think the F1 V10's sounded the best in F1 history but man, when they pass and have that rumble, those V6's do sound pretty awesome.
Man that redbull flying by at 52 seconds is wild fast. It was max too because like 30 sec later perez comes thru much slower and brundle still comments how fast he is.

This is how close the crowd used to stand without barriers back in the day.
If you go back a bit... What barriers?
🏁👍 Great insight to not only the speed of these cars at that stage but for me the handling is incredibly satisfying to watch from this point. Lucky Martin 💯
Omg, you can hear the turbulent air making the sound flutter. That's so cool!!
Another extraordinary thing is the microphone cancelling the noise of an F1 car that up close.
Perfect guy for the job. Great privilege to have him.
1:41 perez kissing the barrier 😂
I love Brundle honestly. He aint perfect but he's awesome at his job and I love listening to his analysis
100%
1:07 hamiltons back at mclaren?
That's awesome and terrifying at the same time
Can we have this close action for more races plus during the Grand Prix too?
In future!
I wish during a live race you could switch between different cameras set on on different areas on the track, would be awesome.

Honda sound is GREAT
The mental process you must have to take that corner at full speed is something else, Unreal what F1 drivers do!
A perfect example of how quiet F1 cars actually are. U can hear him while he is on the mic while they go by.
What an amazing view that carries an insane about of risk 😂😂 badass!
This is greatness
I really hate that we are only getting the sound on F1TV and not all the extra sky analysis and trackside shots.
Was able to experience being as close as that to the cars at several tracks with my father doing photography in the late 70s and early 80s. Indy cars, stock cars and dirt cars at much higher speeds. Couple places they went by so close we could have almost touched them! This was right before they started cracking down on the safety across racing.
It's incredible how skilled they are.
Honestly, racing drivers are lunatics.
I think that everyone standing this close to the track should be wearing a helmet, eye protection and even kevlar body armour.
Even if you are standing in a seemingly safe corner, you never know what kind of crazy accident could happen and send dangerous shrapnel everywhere.
Saudade do barulho dos motores antigos tinha mais emoção 😔😔
As a photographer, what I would give just to have that spot for a race.
This Fantastic Super Close Spot
"As the McLaren of Hamilton went through" After all these years of expert analysis and outstanding commentary Martin Brundle finally made a mistake...channeling his inner Murray Walker.
Indeed Perez was looking confident and good that day 🏆
This was 2021 but yeah, that dude knows his way round a street circuit
"probably one of the best place ive ever been at monaco"
someone who has raced here as an F1 driver 10 times and has been on the podium
The only man in the world worried he’s going to catch COVID from an F1 car😂😂
These drivers have an insane mentality
Now imagine this with the V10 cars when the cars were small and fighter jets
need more footage like this
Imagine standing this close on one of the back sweepers at Spa
The journalist is more what he enjoys than what he reports 💪🏎️
him and tambay im p sure had a crazy shunt here. so wild to think about years later brundle is there explaining what he once did (and well)
Really gives u a whole new respect for these drivers skills
Wow this actually makes F1 seem exciting 😅
I wouldn’t go that far lol
1:56
Back to you Crofty.
Me: Well now, now we can stay on this for a bit longer I don’t mind 😅
IM ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDED AS THE MCLAREN OF HAMILTON GOES THROUGH
Awesome view
I once walked through the tunnel during the race and it was probably the most exciting place in F1 except perhaps for Eau Rouge . . .
Brundle stands in that section in 1998:
Ricardo Rosset: *I'm gonna end this man's whole career*
Indycar wall cams being there for a while: 👁️👄👁️
Bloody hell what a view
“Furniture in the middle of the track” 😂😂
They sound pretty good at ground level.
Out of this world.
1:02 "as the mclaren of hamilton goes throw" XD
1:14 Martin starts sound like an engine himself... thhhen... thhhen
when some random content clip from the track looks way exciting than the actual races.
damn those Honda's engine are fire 💥
Amazing
This are the kind of angles everyone wants to see. Give the spectators some excitement and show the cars speed instead of just showing the sponsors.
Martin is the man.
I had to rewind it 😂
Its crazy how broadcast cameras can catch up and show us the best picture possible
Essa reduzida da alpha 🥵
That's great, despite the fact that cars appear silently, without any sound.
the spot is cool and all but the camera FOV/effect makes it 100% more impressive
Imagine being there when the race starts
isle of man experience
Martin crazy guy
"there comes lance stroll, as he approches the... aaah uuuh ouch"
@0:52 the red bull sounds so nice omg 😩
This is GOLD
having been to monaco and stood at the harbour side of this corner. its brilliant to see
1:03 missed a few years Martin 😂
Martin: “I feel like I’m in the middle of the action”
Also Martin: literally 1 meter from the cars
TV guy was like: if rally spectators can do it, i can too
"I feel like I'm right in the action"
>Literally inches from the cars in a spot he most certainly shouldn't be standing
I'd pay a large sum of money for even folding chairs in that spot lol
So cool! Scary, but so good!
it’s the outdoor mask with a microphone for me
0:28 you can see a Track Marshal showing the cameraman to back off.
Impressive
