Hello Oluv, did you ever had any problems with your aiwa exos 9? mine since today after around 8 years of service wont work anymore unless plugged into power. it just shows a blank blue screen when turning on if only the battery is in :s
I bought the 1s, the only letdown and it is a major one is the dac noise, so I skipped the earfun free pro 2. the uboom l is noisy as well and I bought 2 of these.
I really would like to know more about "accessing parametric eq". Because i personally use poweramp player which has parametric eq, so i can tune all my headphones. Waiting for next video...
That explains why I had to reduce the 6k on my phone eq while using my earfun pro 2s as it triggers my tinnitus. Glad they fixed the battery size as the 2s were a downgrade from the originals.
I have got the first free pro tuned by you and man, they are so good! How would you compare the sound of the first generation with the free pro 3? Does the upgrade worth it?
3:46 "More upper bass, but less bass overall." The graph appears to show that the bass region of your target curve is at or above Harman for the entire bass range, and doesn't seem to cross below it until about 1Khz. Did you misspeak or am I misunderstanding what you are saying?
interesting how you came to this IEM target, it seems crazy, even harman has too much 2.5-4 kHz, your target even more than diffuse field. I dont criticize just wondering...Whenever I took harman tuned IEM's - they were too shouty and alway had to equalize them (drop 2-5 kHz volume) or you can boost bass to compensate 3 kHz elevation. Well, whatever man, glad you keep working and posting videos.
It’s only possible by listening, you cannot rely on any of these established curves because for IEMs they do not work at all, IEMs would need completely different targets than overears. You also need to look at the entire response not just some area, it can appear to have more mids or upper mids but you need to take into account the overall balance.
I'll be buying the Free Pro 3, since both my Free Pro and Free Pro 2 are unusable right now (the first generation was the Oluv's Gadgets and It came with imperfections and the second generation had an issue when I dropped one of the buds in water, my fault completely). The sound makes me want to buy the Free Pro 2 again, but the Free Pro 3 comes with Oluv's Gadgets tuning already in the app.
@@Derpderpson123 All I can say is that I have owned the EFFP2 set for nearly three years and they still work wonderfully. I have quite a few IEM's and earbuds, as well as BT earhooks. When it comes to convenient travel ar listening in bed, these EEFP2's have been my go to listening device. Yes, they were tuned with the AirReps15 6x Android app and Oluv starting tgt. They're great. At only $55, at the time...they are really great.

@@-musiclee- only with the earfun app it seems, but you have no control over the frequency and Q of each filter. I was able to tune my EarFun 2s to my own ears thanks to Q and frequency
Ye the only thing that free 2's need for me is a some kind of eq. I got them just after your eq thing was not working any longer so ill definitly consider the free 3
ANC is not working (none of 5 anc options changes performance), battery with mid volume and ANC on (which barely does anything) lasted less 4 hours, on my pc with gaming mode it has some connection issues as it's not 100% stable connection. app is nice but feels like downgrade at the moment and brand new set that should have improved battery felt about the same as free pro 2
Got the 3 a couple hours ago. Default tunings aren't great. Oluv tunings also aren't great, and sound nothing like his tuning for 2 (which were pretty decent with the exception of being somewhat over-bright). The biggest problem with the all three tunings (default, oluv natural, and oluv boosted) is untamed bass that drags down the whole presentation. You don't even get the feeling that there is substantial bass, more just a sea of mud with no attack. Oluv boosted is the worst offender and is basically unlistenable. Oluv natural sounds hollow and lifeless in a way that was not the case with his 2 tuning. Some areas sound over-cut down. Despite this, it only half tames the bass issue, and the big boost to the 31.5 band is probably a big culprit. Knowing Earfun, I would not be surprised if they messed around with Oluv's tunings. They just aren't good. Boosted is much worse than default, and even natural is maybe a bit worse overall. His signature slight-to-moderate over-brightness is also missing. If anything, his tunings could stand to be a bit brighter. Maybe it has to do with the firmware update I was prompted to install right after connecting to the app? My experience so far is that to tame that bass you *need* to cut the 125 band more than any other. 63 band should be 2-4 dB above that, and the 31.5 band should be 1-2 bB below the 31.5 band. Even then, this errs towards "rich" (just far less than any of the default three tunings) rather than "fast and impactful." I'm still experimenting and expect to make further changes, so this is by no means perfect, but my current custom EQ is: -4, -3, -6, 3, 2, 0, 2, 4, -1, 1
What’s your ear canal resonance? To me your setting sounds hollow and boxy. Instead of comparing to other IEMs listen to some speakers and then try my setting, you are probably used to the Harman target, also don’t use ANC with my settings as this makes the sound more boomy. And it’s actually pretty bright, thus you must be hearing something completely different
I wonder how much unit variation comes into play? I have two sets of Earfun Free Pro 2 and they sound noticeably different (with same Oluv Reference tune). One of them, I've been enjoying for over the past year. The other, I don't ever really want to listen to. Not sure how to describe the difference... one sounds a bit hollow I suppose.
I'd only upgrade for the Multi-point connection, bigger battery, and 7mm drivers. Otherwise I would prefer the Free Pro 2 for their smaller size and better tuning. The Free Pro 2 seemed like a good upgrade over 1 albeit smaller battery, but these im not so convinced. Maybe if a casual user wants something newer with an app, the FP3 would be a good pickup. That's understandable for sure.
I got it to use at work, just opened it and it’s charging. Hopefully it’s decent! Right now I use Soundpeats free 2 classic and engine 4 at work. AirPods Pro 2 and status between 3ANC are my main tws.
That is what I was waiting for! Oluv did some tuning on this new device and I wish he can do it in the future like he does on the FreePro2. I got a Apple Air Pod2 Pro as a gift for 2022 from my company but has given them to my son because they don't achieve the sound of the EFP2 with Oluv's tuning. The ANC was better but for me not the most important point.
Why are u recommending the free pro 3 even after it deviating so much from your iem target with that peak? Why aren’t you ready to compare this one with jbl tune 130nc(same price) which has even better default tuning than the free pro 3 stock eq… and even the jbl has a 10band eq of 12db range in the app and the custom eq will perhaps give out even better results if u try ur best for it. Bet u r afraid that the jbl ,if u eq it perfectly, will sound even closer to your iem target than the free pro 3. Why wont u try that one?
new chip = no internal parametric EQ access = no dice for me. Too bad, since they have bigger drivers. I've made FP2 tunings for myself, spent a LOT of time and I intend to keep them as long as possible. I have three pairs of FP2. When the first pair dies, I'll try to pry them open to see what are the chances of getting the batteries replaced.
@@Pokeydot004 It should. But it's a graphic EQ, not a parametric EQ. And the number of sliders is far too low to tackle the fine nuances in the frequency response
Hi Oluv, just a short comment to ANC, for sure it is "not okay" or in any way comparable to Apple or Bose; ANC is more oe less not existing, also wind cancellation does not work at all; very disappointing. The free pro 2 in "normal" mode are much quieter (less wind noice) during biking than the pro 3 in ANC mode.
@@oluvsgadgetsNo. I am pretty aware of how to set up earbuds. I am not the only person saying this. Compared to even other Earfun buds (like the Air Pro 3 and the Air S) the ANC on these are not good.
Maybe people don’t care but the ANC on these buds are bad. It is hardly noticeable between normal mode and ANC. However, the sound quality on the buds is very good.
