i really respect your opinion audio because you seem to be one of the few sound people that want their earphones/in ears to sound like speakers with bass from some 6-8" woofers but not a 1600w 16"subwoofer capable of single digit hz. Whereas other audio people follow measurements and justify the sound despite being a horrible fatiguing or unauthentic listening experience. keep up the good work with the reviews and sharing what you like to listen to.
I really appreciate your effort in tuning earfun free pro 2. It is definitely the most valuable patreon subscription I have. Highly recommended for those who are interested in acoustics and willing to learn about it
Yes, the only Patreon account I have that actually delivers a palpable return on investment!
Hi, So I also want to join his patroon and get the eq settings for the earfun free pro 2. But I have two important questions about that you maby can help me with. First question is that if you signed up to get access to the eq settings and than signed off of the patreon membership, do you still have access to the eq settings, or in other words can you save the eq settings that he gives on your mobile phone? I ordered a set. I’ve been watching your great videos for years. Thanks for sharing your life and interests with us.
Very interesting! I just purchased the earphones and subscribed to your Patreon, can't wait for them to arrive to tune them. Thanks Oluv you're one of the best.
I just want to say i would have never bought them without your videos. They are light and comfy, the eq hack is super usefull to adjust the sound even after your tuning setting, not pricey. I love them, whereas most wireless ear buds were hard to wear. THANK YOU!
Result on the FreePro2 is amazing I use them every day. They do sound very neutral and smooth, really high-end feeling. Never heard an in ear headphone which gave me so much brilliance and details on songs which I already know since ages. Very good work on tuning this product. Thanks Olaf!

@@JoseGonzalez-ki1zg You can tune them using an android app and his settings on the patreon. I haven't experienced them yet but I do love the original earfun free pro tuned by him.
I only occasionally watch a bunch of your videos, but this is the second time I'm buying something because of them. Still very happy with my Anker Soundcore Motion+, and now I'm getting these. Thanks for the great reviews.
I've ordered the older model and it was so perfect and i love it!! So i'm so excited to listen this new model that I've ordered...Thank you Oluv ! for your work and your passion and for sharing it with us 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
let me know how it is compared to the old one, thanks
It's awesome to see all your time and passion finally come to fruition. Your suggestions for headphones have led me to make some very good purchases, and I think you're one of the most trustworthy people in the headphone world.
This project definitely needs more support, and I myself will be joining very soon. One thing I would love to see down the line is an app of sorts, kind of like the Anker Soundcore app where you can select a tuning you like, but have the tunings be simulations of certain headphones like the HD600, HD800, and so on. It would be a big undertaking, and of course you would need to invest even more time into it, so I hope you get more supporters to your Patreon. Hell, I'd be willing to pay a certain amount for an app like that, but it would also be cool if you could do that kind of tuning for other earfun products like the air pro 2.
Loving the content man, keep it up!
.... come to fruition... again... and again! No more Oluv editions for me....

Absolutely love the sound on these. I listen to a lot of metal and trance and your sound signature is perfect for these genres. Now I try to tune my other headsets to sound as close as I can to these if they have an app. Because of these Earbuds I will most likely purchase anything you tune.
Thank you so much for the review and discount code!
I bought your Earfun Oluv edition. I want to buy the pro2 but I need to know something. When I buy the pro 2 and I access your tuning, will the tuning stay in the earphone or do I need to access your tuning everytime I want to use the earphone?
So much respect for your work! It must be a tiresome process to EQ the shit out of this units.
And thanks a lot you didn't take the snake-oil-reviewer path, where you could have made much much more money!
You made me rediscover so many tracks with the oluv edition earphones. Will definitely go for the ef pro 2.
I just bought these based on your enthusiasm and joined your Patreon. I do not regret it! They sound amazing 🙌 looking forward to the other tunings, keep up the good work. Merry Christmas! 🎄
Hi, how did you put Oluvs equalisation?
@@SupermixRR Just follow his clear instructions guide on Patreon. Not difficult, at all. Requires an Android phone with free app. You can borrow the Android phone as the custom EQ is persistent inside the earbuds and does not require the app, once the tuning is completed.
@@jb678901 Thanks
@@jb678901 I was about to ask how this is done But thanks for explaining. How much is the Patreon?
@@Man_eee As I recall, there are different levels. For access to this part of the site is about Eight Euro a month. As I do not have the expertise, equipment, or focused time to do this myself, I opted to take Oluv's presets. I am quite pleased with the results. He has nice content too, not to mention some pretty enjoyable playlists that I listen to on Spotify.
Hi oluv these are the best earbuds of all time. I have been a fan of you and the free pro 2s for a long time today I found out you are the man behind the buds cheers.
Hey Oluv, could you clarify something? You mentioned how you tune them such that they resemble stereo speakers a distance in front of you. How does this work? Because IEMs and headphones without crossfeed cannot reproduce crosstalk.
Etymotic ER2SE and 4SR with binaural recordings give me the illusion of the band playing around me. The only problem is that the upper treble make cymbals sound farther than they should.
So do you recommend these for all recordings, even those mastered for stereo? Or are binaural recordings still superior in their immersive surround sound? Have you tried Chesky for their binaural music?
There is no shallow fit IEM that will give you the treble quality of an Etymotic IEM with proper fit. If you're looking for an improvement, try the Etymotics with Shure Olive foam tips or those CP800 SpinFit ones. The wide bore improves treble response on both tips.
You can EQ an IEM as much as you want, but shallow fit ones in my opinion always sound hollow around 10K (ear canal resonance). Etymotic IEMs do not have that when properly inserted and they sound more extended in the treble, which is a crucial aspect if you want detail like you get on full size headphones.
Great work man, keep it up 👌👌👌
The first version was already fantastic but this time... You are amazing and thank you!!! I ordered 4 more for my family. They are also so incredibly comfortable! It is crazy that you can tweak a 50 Euro product that sounds WAY better than any other tws I tried and all those Hifi companies fail to do it.

But what would you prefer? Is the q30 anc better than the free pro 2's?
Oluv you did great job, you super cool !!) Question, how many headphones you make this time? Or you tuned all of headphones this time?
Oluv, do you think your smooth tunings are good for any kind of music, even metal and hard rock?
I am confused now. Haven't you said in one of your videos that the sound of the new Earfun Inears is not as good as the original Earfun Pro Oluv Edition?
Or was it just the original Earfun tuning that is not as good?
He did state that he had reservations about being able to get the EFFP2 to the same level as the Oluv tuned EFFP (gen 1), given the EFFP2 default tuning was so far off. Clearly, he has been able to effectively tune the EFFP2 with the same app and has benefitted from lessons learned along the way...to dial into superior tuning. As a device, the EFFP2 has build quality (both case and buds) and ANC/ambient performance advantages over EEFP (gen 1).
Soundwise I'm quite happy with the first version but they have two major flaws:
1) It's not possible to connect to more than one bluetooth source at the same time. So you have to turn off bluetooth on source device 1 to get it connected to source device 2.
2) The contacts to the case are not reliable. You really have to fiddle arround and peek through the nearly closed charging case to check if the in-ears are turned off and get charged.
Did they fix this with the newer version?
The source issue is still there but the case snaps in very easy and works great.
The tuning of the earfun free pro is excellent. I don't know how I could improve it. I hear all the instruments in balance and for a 60 dollars it is unmatched in value
Another bonus of this fine tuning method: I have L nd R different resonances. The difference is around 400-500 Hz. (Cause could be a bang trauma with small eardrum tear ~ 25 years ago...). I was able to compensate for the first time this difference with the Free Pro (L 6400 & R 6800 Hz tuning). I can only say: Who has similar problems or when measuring the resonance (try left and right separately) determined; the compensation is an incredible gain in sound quality. It's not about a balance shift in terms of volume, but a real sound correction or compensation. THANKS to Oluv, and I can hardly wait for the Free Pro 2 Tuning, looking forward to it very much.
So it's possible to equalise the left/right channel frequency response separately?
Nice
@@gbhxvohdchigblkh4620 Exactly! :)
@@AMIGA79 I have had no trauma but doing the sine sweep the loudest noise I get in my right ear is at 6500 hz while my left one is 5100. Hence I’m using two different eqs from oluv
Decided to stick with Oluv Pro 1 2nd ed until they break and instead looking to buy Q30.
Have a question though - Do the Pro 2 use SBC or AAC with iPhone ?
I recall AAC was disabled with Pro 1 as Oluv was not happy with the AAC quality. How has this been tackled with Pro 2 - Android App can do this ?
I shall be buying the free pro 2 and subscribing to your patreon simply because you said the word Wanker 😂😂 Merry Christmas Oluv
This sounds really good, might pick these up tho how does measuring your ear resonance work? You don’t seem to have a video about it.
Its on patreon. In the app you can load an empty eq which would be the raw tuning and then you just do a sinesweep to find the loudest point between 5 and 7khz.
Some people get it higher then that but its rare.
After you apply the right tuning that sineweep should be pretty much flat.
Hi Oluv any idea if the membranes of these new ones (version 2) are more robust, since the ones on my Earful free pro Oluv edition fell off quite soon,

Hi Oluv, did I get that right: In your opinion the Free Pro 2 (with your tuning) sounds noticeable better than the old Free Pro with your final tuning? In an older video you said that you aren't sure if you can get the Free Pro 2 on the same level as the old Free Pro.

@@gullibleskeptic3237 Same for me. The Oluv tuned GEN1 was already excellent. How he managed to improve upon that with the GEN2 tunings...incredible. Best for me too.

Hi Oluv , first of all I would like to wish you, your family and all of you here a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Based on your reviews, I already have many headphones and speakers, but everything from Anker. Now I would like to try something new, so I would like to ask if these headphones are at least as loud or rather louder than Liberty Air 2 Pro or Life P3, which I already own. I like to listen to music not only in high quality, but also very loud, so will EARFUN FREE PRO 2 be the right choice for me?

I own the Soundcore Q30's, Life P3's, and Motion+. Love the products and their common app (with that Custom EQ)! P3's are excellent daily drivers for their call quality and generally excellent performance/comfort. That being said, the EarFunFree Pro's with Oluv's custom tuning...another level in terms of sound quality. Now, just got the EFFP2's and did the smooth tune. WOW. Fantastic. In terms of volume...certainly on par with P3's for me. More comfortable and secure fit, too. My new favorites...EFFP2 with the Oluv tune, for sure. My wife just got these for me for Christmas. Enjoying them so far. I have the originals as well. Still trying to figure out the difference between the two models. Love your reviews! Will support you thru patreon later this week.
Same touch controls between the two. The GEN2 has much better build quality & materials on both earbuds and case (metallic alloy elements). Case design also much better (slightly smaller too, which is amazing considering GEN1 was already pretty compact for its battery capacity & wireless capability). GEN2 also delivers enhanced ANC/ambient results versus GEN1. Definitely more than just a marketing release...IMO a rather significant improvement from what was already a compelling offering on price/performance.

I Will Buy them today, but I want to know how do they compare to the life q30 and to some other headphones. Is the bass the same? I mean the frequency e tension is there?
you can make them sound however you like with more bass or less bass.
The two main things I had a problem with the previous Earfun Free Pro is that the ear mesh protection comes off way too easily. The sports hook is also too loose on earphone, like the rubber has too large diameter. I've lost several while out cycling
They fixed the mesh problem now, it wont come out as eazy and get the passage of sound all close now(due to wax idk).
While running, best way to make them hold onto your ear is to invert them i do that myself and they get secure enough, unless your ears won't let you so.
EDit:Also inverted stereo on music its not that affected so dw about that.
I wear mine without the hooks on small tips, one size below the stock tips. It doesn't fall off when I walk in the mall or grocery. Try to experiment with different tip sizes and hook or no hook. Mine is the 2nd batch of Oluv's Earfun. No problems with the mesh even after cleaning it for a number of times.
Using comply foam tips with guards could help with that. The comfort ones i got fit well
what is your opinion about the ANC while cycling about the wind-blocking capabilities ?

Hey, just got a pair of the Free Pro's 2 and will be subscribing to your patron. Quick question, saw a reddit thread claiming that the your custom PEQ settings are overwritten when the Free Pro's 2 are placed into their case. In other words, the claim was that the internal EQ isn't store permanently on the units; is this actually the case? Many thanks.
Nope, it gets saved permanently on the unit. You just have to make sure you press real-time update and then save data on the android app. I eqd them once on my Samsung and now I whenever I use them they play with the saved eq
Air pro 2 doesn't, Free pro 2 does save EQ.

Btw, how close is your hd600 + sonarworks eq from your personalized earfun ? For me, sonarworks have the best eq I found on the Web (oratory, asr, etc.).
I got away from Sonarworks, it was not even close sounding to what a neutral studio monitor sounds like. Oratory's Optimum Hifi is way closer. I tried to get it similar to this. And you can always adjust it to your taste.
@@oluvsgadgets Hi and thank you for your reply. I don't have studio monitory to compare and my room is not acousticaly treated.
I have a denon avr-x3700h with focal aria 906 for reference (default audyssey X32 calibration). And my focal clear has more bass 😂
I like a moderate bass boost to feel kick drums or bass guitar. I find it more lively.
Btw I read that the oratory's hi-fi settings is bass light to get low thd with high volume listening (It seems that the bass requires too much diaphragm excursion to be worth it : thd or clipping like Elex, clear, utopia...)
@@shiyu84 keep in mind that your ear does not alter any bass frequencies regardless if listening to a speaker or a headphone, it starts to add its own thing above 1khz, thus Oratory's Optimum Hifi profiles are with completely flat bass without any bass boost, just dead flat. IEMs require a bit of bass boost to get the same "effect", but I also tried to keep it as neutral as possible. My current tunings should be as uncolored as possible but can be adjusted to ones taste and I will prepare further more sounded profiles in future as well as simulations of other responses like that of a HD800S or some Etymotic etc.
I am wondering if the OLUV tuning would also work on the Fiil T2 Pro''s. Assuming, given the same components, including unlocked Airhora chipset, that the AirReps15 6x android app would do the same with the Fill T2 Pro. Given the custom EQ wipes away the default tuning, would this not mean the earbuds themselves are able to take on the same tuning? Would be an interesting alternative to open the possibilities to the AliExpress market.

Yes! I will order a pair to mess with. I am also going to try to adapt a kz az09 pro to an etymotic.
How the heck do ya get this tuning lol signed up for your patreon and no guide or I can't figure it out im horrible at this stuff please help
Did your have any luck. I'm new too and subbing hesitant
You need his 10€ membership I think and you will get access to posts with all of his tunings.
Hallo,
will these be OK for use with laptop for MS Teams/calls?
This channel is the biggest anti-snakeoil weapon against the hifi industry and I love it. If I get a regular income (I'm a student at the moment) I will instantly sub at patreon to support it.
Just buy one month to start and get the tuning with a pair for earfun pro 2s. Seriously I’ve spent easily over a thousand on my collection of headphones amps dac and iems. For around $70 these iems with his tunings sound better than all of them. I love audiophile stuff and it’s made me sad in a way. I can’t find a reason why I really need all this stuff anymore. The earfun free pro 2s with his tuning sounds amazing.
If you can’t afford it cancel after the first month.
@@jeremywilliam79 Besides that the Pro2's are sold out at the moment, I don't need them now.
I have a Qudelix, and especially after his last video that equalized all the headphones the same, I should get really similar results with my 20$ IEMS and my Qudelix.
While you have a point, I meant that I want to sub to Patreon to support him in general and to support the projects and measurements that are about products that most people can afford for only music listening, not for a name, prestige or status symbols and snake oil.
To fight exactly the problem the audiophile industry has, that you have described. That if someone wants to hear music with "high fidelity" in the real sense, you don't need to buy expensive gear, that exists for a shiny hobby, but not because it isn't possible to achieve the same for cheap.
@@FunFreakeyy I’m with you totally and hope more people listen to what he has to say. The Qudelix is great too I have it and love it.
@@jeremywilliam79 I have the BTR5K ordered, should arrive soon. Regret not having considered Qudelix, though the BTR5k should be decent alternative at only EURO 105. Understand Qudelix is akin to having Equalizer APO in your pocket and on the go. F$%k!
Iam not gonna pay every month to have access to it, thats to expensive. Second questionis is if I change from mobile, get a new one, do I still have all the eq settings? I would appreciate your awnser/experience on that allot. Cheers!
Try the noble falcon pros now they can be bought for around 140. I would like to hear your opinion about these great tuned earbuds and they respond well to eq. Of course, they are not apples to apples with the $60 earfun free pros
We need to support this man. If oluv's goes, $10000+ headphones will become the norm sooner or later. Audiophile market is already too high.
No other man is doing these honest reviews.
That about sums it up.
How do you get EQ into the headphones? I have got an iPhone and I wonder how do you apply the EQ for the whole iOS.
You need an android phone as the app (for a different model) is not available on iOS. The EQ is in the headset firmware, so it will work across all devices.
@@nexxmex can you say which app? I have only have a very old android device so I’m concerned it will not run
@@nexxmex so I need to buy a phone, then headphones and then EQs. That’s quite a terrible user experience…
If your android phone is at least Android 5.0 it should work. Mine is also ancient. If you complain about some "user experience" but want 1000$ sound, get the 1000$ product instead.
@@oluvsgadgets man, I have an iPhone. No Android. So that’s the user experience I am talking about.
Hi, Oluv! Will the earfun free pro 2 Will sound better than senhiser 58x? I don't know what to Buy.
the HD58X is muddy compared
@@oluvsgadgets Thancks.
HD58X needs a bit modding to sound good, but as Oluv said they do sound muddy out of the box - I was quite disappointed despite rather good opinions about them. Check Solderdude modding write up (in pdf) from diyaudioheaven. Also the new Sennheiser ear pads for HD6** series have less low mids and lows, making 58X/660 less muddy, but with a bit of a dip around 7kHz, which isn't that noticible. If they are available on sale from Drop at around $130 then they are good deal, but not at $170 if you live outside of USA. I run them with 4.5mm hole forniture felt mod on the back of the drivers and two layers of ladies stockings instead of the foam in front of the drivers, which doesn't attenuate the freq resp above 2kHz as much as the foam, with that they're very decent headphones. If 6XX would have the lows of the 58X that would be nice - I dislike the 6XX's 150Hz hump and their rather slow bass, with highish driver resonance and Qts. The HD600 have better tonal balance. I haven't tried yet the Solderdude mod with AKG K240 foam over the back of the driver yet (sort of what Sennheiser did to lower the mids-bass hump of the 650/6XX driver), which Solderdude's preferred method of modding the 58X.

They also measured the 58X, 600, 650 at ASR.
@@pliedtka Thancks a lot. And Merry Christmas :))
Hello! I would like to buy it but currently its out of stock, is there any chance to buy it ?
Which one sounds more natural? I have up to 200$.
Recently bought the Earfun AirPro 2 and Im really disappointed with the sound. Very bass heavy to the point of being muddy mids and highs. Do you have tunings that would work with the Air Pro 2s on patreon? Will happily pay as Im happy with everything apart from the most important feature, the sound! Thanks
No, it doesn’t save the user settings thus I didn’t deal with it any more, I just created a quick rough setting but you would need to manually switch it on every time after power on
@@oluvsgadgets Thanks for the honesty. i stumbled across people saying the settings revert when taken out the case just after I posted . Looks like they're being returned. :(
Looks like the code no longer works. What's the best way to buy these now so that I can also support you?
Q: Issit possible to tune the Fiil T1 Lite base on oluv offering on patreon? or even Fiil T2 pro for that matters, since all of them are running on airoha. Not earfun, but Fiil

Hi oluv Nice video's bro keep going Sony xm3 headphones are awsome ♥️🔥
for the price, if it can compare with big headphones, it seems because the dual drivers. They are wireless it's not a cable, they need to play well to compare.
Can you give your opinion on the OnePlus wireless z bass edition?
Is the fiil t2 pro model also compatible with this change?
I'll give you and these a try, jw what's your Thoughts on moondrop products?
Edit: i thought it was ok
The earfun free pro with the new tuning for my resonance freq(7000hz) allready sounds much better then the original oluvs edition. the only other tws iem that sounds as good to me is the sony wf1000xm(with eq) but its much more expensive.
im really looking forward to this one!
How pr where in his patron does it guve the info for app needed and how to get that tuning? Just signed up and struggling to figure it out any help would be greatly appreciated

Amazon US site is out of stock. Are the Earfun Free Pro 2 selling on the earfun site also tuned by you?
None are tuned by him out of the box. You have to become an enthusiast patron to get the tunings.
Will there ever be a way to se the EQ with a PC/Mac or iOS? Dont have any android devices...
get a used one or ask a friend.
On a PC you can User Equalizer APO, but it won't work because there is a stock tuning applied on the headphones, while the given tunings are on base of the raw tuning of the Free Pro (2) which you need to set in the app first.
An Android device is mandatory and I can't imagine that there is any household without any Android Smartphone or Tablet.
@@Ustrof Your imagination is too narrow ;-) Go out more.
Hi Oluv! Longtime fan of your work here and I respect what you are doing, but I’m not confident in EarFun quality any more. The EarFun Free had terrible hissing in the left channel, but had amazing range and stable connection. The EarFun Free Pro has such a terrible range, that it is almost unusable. I get cut offs even with my phone right in front of my face, but walking outside with the phone in my pocket is a no go at all. Tested with few different phones with the same results. The contact pins in the cases are also dogy.. :(
This extremely limited range you experience with the earfun sounds like defective hardware to me. I can wear my earfuns and walk into another room nearly 10meters away and they still got a connection. Maybe try to send them in and get another unit to see if the problem still remains
Definitely hardware problems with your unit. The range is completely fine with mine. The only problem I have is that sometimes one of the earbuds don't connect, so I have to put them back in to their case so they sync
Just contact earfun about it. They will probably send you a new one. I didnt have any of these issues on 3 different units.
@@gullibleskeptic3237 Thanks to your comment I messaged them also because my L R channels were imbalanced (I adjusted them myself) and got a new unit from earfun. Very generous.
@@trulysinful Thats nice to see😃. I hope this new unit works as it should.
the fact that you can provide a discount code that basically substracts the money for your eq-patreon tells a story about how much credit earfun gives you
