- Mike, who lives with a rare disorder that leaves him unable to walk, grew up in a care home believing he would never find a family home.
Ann, his former teacher, realized Mike's potential and taught him to be more confident. Mike used this newfound confidence to ask Ann “Will you be my Mom?” Today the two are excited to spend their first full year as a family.

It breaks my heart reading the comments that he died so young and then hear him here speaking so much about the future; moving out, having kids and being an actor. He finally got a forever home, I wish he would've had more time.

Absolutely heartbroken and angry to find out he passed away, i kept on coming back to this video from time to time just because of how amazing Michael´s amazing vibes were. Im so sorry for him and for his family.

Very sad and heartbroken to hear that. Grateful he got a home. He seemed to be so appreciative. He was so kind! Also teasing his Mom Ann. Wow! Wish I knew more about his life and could have heard from him, himself more on it.

I just scrolled down and saw that this precious angel passed away, tragically. I am heartbroken and cannot imagine how Ann and Barry feel!!! This boy was truly a precious gift to this world, and his bright light and impact will live forever in the hearts and minds of all who got to know him and his story!!!! Rest in peace, sweetheart!!!!
This is one of my favourite SBSK videos. Mike was so pure and strong and in this video you can feel his pain of not having a home and then the joy of getting adopted and having his own family. When the comments were on I remember reading one day that he had passed away😢. Rest in peace beautiful Mike.💜💜💜

I was looking at SBSK videos and found myself back here. I am so sorry for his family's loss, my heart brakes for them and that he didn't get that long with his adoptive family. He has such a great vibe, he seems so nice and so cool that I remember this video still. I am glad that he got to find a good home, his parents seem so great. Such a good interview.

It can often be a challenge to watch these videos. You learn about many different people and the amazing way they handle adversity, and then find out that many of them already have passed away, leaving you feeling heartbroken and empty. I'm glad that they at least had this platform to express themselves before they died. But it is still hard sometimes to see.

I feel like if there was NOTHING else good in the world, it was worth living just for the happiness and loving home that Mike got at the end of his life. God bless Ann and Barry! And God bless EVERYONE that helps children. God bless SBSK!!!
