  • This is the official channel of the TV show Swiss Railway Journeys, run in association with MITV, the production company that created the show. The following episode represents original content made and copyrighted by MITV, and its content is in no way repurposed.
Join us for the second part of our exploration of the lines of the Transports Publics du Chablais, making journeys along the three routes which radiate from Aigle in the Rhone valley to a variety of resorts located in the Vaudois and Valaisian Alps.
We begin our journey at Aigle station joining the Aigle-Leysin set which makes its way through the narrow streets of the old town before joining a dedicated rack line for the steep ascent up the mountainside to the sunny resort of Leysin. We make a brief exploration of the old village before taking the cable-car to the superb viewing point of the Berneuse, with its panoramic views across the region, visible from the viewing terraces as well as the windows of the Kuklos revolving restaurant.
Across the Rhone valley lies the popular winter sports region of Portes du Soleil and we board our AOMC train at Champéry for a snowy descent down the mountainside enjoying the wonderful views. At Monthey we change trains and seasons and make our summer journey across the plain, pausing at the wine village of Ollon before returning to Aigle. We remain with viticulture and make a visit to the historic Aigle chateau which today houses fascinating wine museum.
Our third exploration takes us from Aigle through dramatic countryside to the year round resort of Les Diablerets. At journey's end we enjoy the wonderful scenery of the area before taking the gondola high into the mountains to visit Glacier 3000.

many thanks for the upload- normally I find travelogues stultifyingly dull, but these videos are brilliant- I think its the combination of beautiful landscapes, pretty towns, amazingly clean trains and the wonderfully lyrical narration -
