Next up is Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. the sequel to Jurassic world following Chris Pratt & Bryce Dallas Howard directed by J.A Bayona following the vents of the last film where a volcano threatens to wipe out the dinosaurs of Jurassic World Owen & Claire venture out to save them.

Great review I had a soft spot for fallen kingdom because at the end , the stakes are higher and I’ve heard some great things about Dominion.

To be honest, I did enjoy Fallen Kingdom and what's interesting is that they are expanding on Michael Crichton's idea of the dinosaurs going in the mainland. It will be really interesting and cool to see humans and dinosaurs coexisting in Dominion.

@@theepicthree123 The clone plot is barely in it, Yes still well explained and makes sense,And really? The truck jumping onto the boat made Perfect sense, especially compared to a fast and the furious movie, and is actually one of my favourite moments of the movie :-)

Fun Fact: That dinosaur that gets engulfed in flames was actually confirmed to be the same one Grant and Sattler saw the first time in the first Jurassic Park. And I'll give Fallen Kingdom that, since that scene made me tear up a bit.
Edit: What makes me stop from loving the Indo-raptor, is that when they guy goes to get one of his teeth, the freaking thing acts like Bug Bunny by tapping on his shoulder, opens his eye, and freaking smiles.
The fact that it’s the same one has made it metaphorical. It was the first Dino we saw on the island, and it is the last dino we see on the island.

Fun fact(you might know this already): the Indoraptor smiled for a reason. There was a deleated scene that a guy that worked there for mills was pretty mean to the indoraptor, he would shock the indo and he would smile as he did, and one time when he shocked him, the indoraptor smiled and the guy was like 'woah that kinda creepy'. Then the indo lured him in (or the guy walked in idk how or why) then the indoraptor killed him and he smiled as he did. So basically... The indoraptor thinks that everytime you kill someone, your supposed to smile😃

I honestly love this movie so much, my only wish is that they stayed on the island a bit longer, maybe had a night scene & make it a little bit more challenging to capture blue.

I found out that both dominion and fallen kingdom are both my favorite movies in the Jurassic trilogy!For Jurassic world dominon,I really like how they introduce the wilder and cooler dinosaurs that they introduced.the microceratus is a shockingly wild newcomer,nasutoceratops made a glad but wild return,and other ones where so wild! I like how they introduced the mighty iguanodon from Disney’s dinosaur movie that I remember watching.first they introduced the carnotaurus in fallen kingdom,and now the iguanodon in dominon! Two dinosaurs from Disney’s dinosaur in one movie.Its completely funny to see dr starlet and dr grant go undercover while in biosyn’s facility.it’s so funny to see that,and also the locusts that are fire acted like astroids when there in flames 🔥.and for fallen kingdom is confusing,but still wild! And again I found out this is like the second movie of the live action tnmt movie where they introduced our favorite characters from the tv show.
Yeah I thought the idea of having to use the laser sight to give the Endoraptor a target to attack felt like a really dumb idea. It's an idea that could've been executed in a much more intelligent way. But yeah I totally agree with you. I'm conflicted with Fallen Kingdom because the first half was actually really good, but some of the second half didn't quite work for me. I've heard mixed things about Dominion but hopefully it won't be all bad. I'm planning on seeing it Thursday and I'll try not to have any super high expectations, but it's difficult not to when it's being billed as the "last" film in the franchise. As long as it doesn't end up being "Rise of Skywalker" bad I'm sure I'll find at least some enjoyment out of it lol

I love how they made this more of a horror-dinosaur movie and the visual effects are on point but I still have mixed feelings about everything else.
One of the best moments of Camp Cretaceous is when the campers are present for the opening scene of Fallen Kingdom. Such an amazing show, man...
I think this is a really underrated movie! While not a masterpiece, I believe it doesn't deserve as much hate as it receives. For me it is a better version of The Lost World.
I watched the lost world again recently and I can definitely say that fallen kingdom is a more enjoyable watch

Honestly I think this movie gets more hate than it deserves... the only thing I wasn't the absolute biggest fan of is the whole cloning people story beat, it rubbed me the wrong way, but I think as a modern Jurassic film it kind of fits with how people would be today if we knew dinos existed once again, which I find pretty fascinating...
This movie is great fun...dont listen to others...only follow yourself and enjoy...
Also...the box office have sad it all, to haters...of course that doesnt make a movie perfect but...just saying

Overall I thought the first Jurassic World was better than this movie, FK wasn’t a disaster for me, but it was pretty good watch. It had some cool concepts and ideas that I HOPE get expanded on in Dominion

Honestly I personally just didn’t enjoy this movie, it was definitely entertaining but I just feel story wise it have been better. I feel like the biggest problem is that it feels disconnected from the first World movie and didn’t feel like a continuation. I feel like while quality of JP 2 & 3 can be debated, they felt like they wanted to continue the originals themes. Jurassic World had interesting ideas that weren’t really explored further here when there were chances.
The indoraptor had a cool design but it felt too similar to the Indomanirex. But they redid they sympathy card of a hybrid dino being raised alone but didn’t add on it. I wish the Indoraptor could have acted as a second chance and instead of dying off again. It could’ve escaped as punishment for daring to make more hybrids or submitted to Blue as a mother or alpha since like the I-rex it was just trying to find its place in the ecosystem or needed a family.
I also wish they continued the idea that dinosaurs are just common animals kids don’t care about. That the new generation doesn’t view they as monsters and just animals. Macy could have released the dinosaurs in the end, because she just viewed them as any other animal dying a slow painful death. I feel like if a kid saw a room full of elephants slowly dying and they could save them with a push a button most kids would do it. It would add to the line “now kids see stegosaurus like an elephant in the zoo”
I just wished they continued on Jurassic World, but they picked the worst plot line of military dinosaurs. I don’t even think it’s that dumb of an idea, raptors could be useful in dense jungle gorilla warfare. But they continue it in the worst was possible.
I actually really like the twist of Maisie being a clone. It seems like the perfect progression from cloning animals.
I definitely really like Fallen Kingdom, I honestly think it’s the most entertaining Jurassic movie as I never get bored when watching it

Yeah there’s unrealistic stuff but I mean even the best movies of all time have unrealistic stuff such as Die Hard. There’s no way in hell John McLean would be able to survive a building fall using a firehouse.

Love this film. My favorite scene from this film is when Owen Clare in Franklin are running away from the dinosaurs while the volcano is exploding. Amazing 🙌👏
I've seen Nostalgia Critic's review of this movie and while I agree with some of the points he's given about this film, I have to agree with you more, Cris. I don't think this movie should get the hate it deserves. There are some good moments in this film and the bad moments are what led to viewers hating it. And wow, Justice Smith was annoying in this film. I like to think that this film is The Last Jedi for the Jurassic World franchise. I'm not too crazy about The Last Jedi but I can see why people hated it and why Star Wars never fully recovered from it. Here's to hoping Dominion does well in the Box Office and be the perfect sendoff to the Jurassic World franchise.

*Fallen Kingdom* has the writing of an *Asylum* Z-grade mockbuster movie but with so much budget & A-list director.
I really love this movie it’s honestly my second favorite behind the original great video as always.
6:20 Something that could make the whole brachiosaurus being surrounded by lava and smoke as the characters drove away is if the theory that it is the exact same one from the first film, since they never clearly stated that it died.

one thing, the animatronics they used for this movie were amazing, full scale Indoraptor (not everything was cgi) THNX for another amazing video
The best part is easily is Indoraptor.
The basic concept of him is interesting.
Unlike he Indominus Rex who was a curious animal searching for her place in the food chain, Indoraptor takes the hybrid concept all the way.
He is a tortured, mentally ill, blood thirsty psychopath. And they confirmed that he was inspired by old movie monsters(Specifically Vampire, Werewolf and Frakenstein), which is where the horror aspect comes with.
Just irritated that they killed him off just like that and that way, and didn't focus on him more.
Second favourite thing I like is the Brachiosaurus death. That was the saddest and most emotional moment in the whole franchise for me. Especially since it is the original Brachiosaurus.
I heard that that same brontecorous is the same dinosaur we all first saw in the OG movie
I liked Fallen Kingdom. I love the different creatures and the use of practical effects. My favorite JP opener is form this movie too.
I think chris stuckman put it best with his review that they were more focused on setting up dominon then actually focusing on making a sequel to world, I think the goal was always priority #1 get the dinos off the island

My biggest issue with Fallen Kingdom had to be that the two months leading up to the movie the theater I go to kept showing the trailer before every movie playing there so by the time I finally saw it it felt like I had already seen the middle chunk of the movie I did love the opening and when they were running around the mansion with the indo raptor in the loose, it felt like good old creature feature but the rest of it just gave me mixed feelings. But I’m hopeful for JW Dominion after seeing the opening minutes and the short film they released a while back so fingers crossed.

I’m not gonna spoil anything in this but im currently in Mexico and found out dominion dropped here on the 1st and it was honestly very enjoyable and they balanced the legacy characters with the world characters very well, they have separate story’s happening at the same time and collide towards the end and make their story one, the use of practical effects for a lot of the movie was awesome too, I think people will genuinely enjoy it.
You forgot to mention that they brought back the opening kill sequence

I definitely agree in regards to the laser-pointing thing. Having said that, the Indoraptor is, if you include hybrids, my FAVORITE dinosaur. It scared and creeped the shit out of me.
As for how I rank this movie, I rank movies on how much I personally enjoy them. While I will acknowledge that the original 1993 JP IS still the best in the series, I rank the movies as follows:
1. The Lost World: Jurassic Park
2. Jurassic Park
3. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
4. Jurassic World
5. Jurassic Park III
I rank JP3 the lowest, because as much as I enjoy it, it is just too short. I feel MORE could have been done with the raptors and the Spino. We'll see where Jurassic World: Dominion lands on this list when I (hopefully) see it on the 10th.

I fall into the group of people that enjoyed this film. I liked the moral dilemmas the film introduced, which will go on to play out in JW: Dominion. The dinosaurs are now in the main land and it'll be interesting to see how people will handle that situation. So I guess you're kinda right when you say that Fallen Kingdom was the road mapping for Dominion. Nonetheless, I liked the film and was happy with this review! Excited to see your breakdown of Jurassic World Dominion whenever that may be!

This was my fave of the sequels. The horror elements towards the end were the scariest the series has been since the original. And GODDAMN does that scene with the brachiosaur on the dock ruin me. It sounds so sad, I was screaming at the screen for them to turn the fucking boat around and save it.

JP3 was the REAL bad Jurassic movie of all time because it’s what killed the franchise for 14 years then Jurassic World revived it, no emotion nor motivation, JP3 felt like a straight up cash grab (IMO ok so don’t start an argument)

Same way how Jurassic Park 3 is your favorite, this is my favorite. I never understood the hate for this movie.
I think the big issue with Fallen Kingdom was that it was too predictable basically the entire film. Each plot point felt too predictable and at times overly done. I think you were totally correct with the idea that FK only exist to setup Dominion.
It really for me represented the shift of the franchise from intellectual, philosophical, science-fiction ideas with dinosaur action complimenting the films, to a more action first franchise.
As a long-time fan of the franchise, I love the ideas they took from Crichton’s two novels. FK’s ideas in a vacuum are great, but it’s poorly written and executed in my opinion. I really enjoyed Jurassic World, as while it was certainly a summer blockbuster-esqe movie with lots of action sequences, it did have some really interesting and clever writing and character development. Not to mention, Jurassic World (2015) felt more of a direct follow up to Jurassic Park (1993) than any one that came before.
It’s one of my huge gripes with the franchise. It seems like they are dumbing down their story for the sake of more action.
I actually really enjoyed the first half of the movie - with Nublar’s impending destruction and the evacuation mission. But once it hits the mansion, it just loses me. Some of the highs - including an incredible score by Micheal Giacchino and absolutely stunning cinematography, are really good. However it’s lows are some of the worst in the franchise.
Now with this, will you do a review of the short "Battle at Big Rock" that takes place between the second and third movies?
Or Camp Cretaceous, which has been playing the role of bridging an information gap between JW1 and Dominion? It's got 4 seasons so far, with the final/fifth season coming next month. Despite the cartoon style of the humans, the writing makes the series fit right into the suspense levels of the movies, being as suspenseful as possible without making it unsuitable for children. It's definitely worth checking out for Jurassic fans.
Imo I liked the movie the runtime was actually good, I didn’t recognize that the indoraptor was in there that short until you said something. Maisie had a perfect backstory for a cloned child.
I really like this movie the indoraptor is scary and the other dinosaurs were cool and that opening scene is amazing

Not gonna lie, when I first saw this movie, I was very very mixed. I was also never a fan of dinosaurs being weaponized, it always felt very disturbing and not in a good way. When I saw the Indoraptor in the trailer, I was so hyped but was soon disappointed with what they did with it. I felt as I was watching that it was supposed to have a connection with Maisie but it never went anywhere. But I can still find a lot of stuff to enjoy in the movie. You were right about the cinematography, it’s the best part of the movie for me.

1: Jurassic world
2: Jurassic Park
3: fallen kingdom
4: lost world
5: 3
(although I understand for most the original one is the best, I am younger and fell in love when I watched Jurassic world in theaters and was my first so it really grew on me more
