Looks great for an HID kit in a halogen projector Man, I wish Morimoto would nail that pure crisp LED white look in 6000K. Their 6000K is slightly too cold/blue/aqua colored and their 5000K is too neutral white leaning towards a 4300K look. A long time ago, I had a pair of aftermarket HID kit bulbs that were perfectly LED white. And they were cheap DDM stuff at the time! I know the LED white can be done but it’s tough to do I guess
It took a few years but I’m convince now. I ran DD SL1, Morimoto 2 Strokes and currently Xenon Depot H11’s in Lexus RX originally with halogens. Next set will be this setup. Thanks for this info. 💡
Hey I've been looking at building a set of morimoto projectors and bulbs for an xterra. I was considering doing the D2s set. Would HIDs hold up well to some moderate off roading? Or do you guys think they will just get rattled to death?
If you are retrofitting, full size 3" HID projector is the way to go. Use premium HID bulbs such as Philips or Osram. HID holds up great! We build lights for customers all around the world. One customer traveled with his Land Cruiser from North America all the way down to the lowest tip of South America. Was a 16 month expedition. Lights held up perfectly!
