- In 1968, the state-funded Afghan Film production and archive institute opened and Afghan cinema was born.
Since then, many aspects of Afghan culture have been systematically destroyed or forgotten.
But the Afghan Film’s archive has been largely preserved through all of these years. A small group of people risked their lives to save the national archive.
They managed to preserve the films and records of all of the other "Afghanistans" that existed - saving decades of history.
They believed these films had something to give to the present moment. We will send the episode details with a new episode each week.
President of Afghanistan: Don't worry guys I have a plan.
President of Afghanistan has left the game.
Where can we watch the second part of this documentary. Such a vibrant nation turned into rubble thanks to the West and their power games
It's documentation of Afghan society and it's vibrant culture and how beautiful it is.
talban was and is enemy of happiness of human really,,,
Thank you for this documentary. These films are precious memories of an era. Is there any way these films could be screened or given to streaming sites such as MUBI or Netflix. These frames really touched my heart. Couldn't resist tears particularly during the scenes when the filmmakers talked about their love for films.
Prayers for Peace and Stability.
LIFE IS BORING WITHOUT ENTERTAINMENT😕
Life is boring without islam and prayer
Real life islam man one day dead
So are these films ok now, or has the Taliban destroyed them?
Really very good video telling some background of Afghan cinema.
Sincere thanks to all involved in compiling this incredible documentary. ❤️
Yeah , a secular bourgeoisie neo liberal elite and its "middle class" minions.

MY parents talk about the golden time in kabul where people would go to cinema park to watch classical bollywood movies or james bond movies the good times
🤮🤮🤮 more like the fitna time

20 years of American bombs and the west is obsessed with preserving Afghanistan's past. There is nothing wrong in preserving history but why not document the present and recent past. Al Jazeera needs to do better.
You make no sense
Please don’t misuse the name of Islam
What about all the destruction from the Soviet Union, the warlords, the Taliban and Al Qaeda?
very interesting. i never realised how westernised things were back then.
Can anyone help me with the song at 18:50? 'Karba tu kadam nazar' is all I could hear.
Peaceful until foreign powers intervention and invasion created a group that hated this and reacted . Extreme action will get extreme reaction.
Malaysia has a state called Kelantan who banned cinema
Not only cinema.
A rich tradition of north east Malay cultural tradition was banned and destroyed.
And those who did it turned out just as corrupt as the secular politcal parties
I love you-all and I apologize for injuring you for the benefit of corporate agendas to steal heroin and oil 😮
Keep the fools diverted by giving them bread and circuses (entertainment) Juvenal, Satire

Insallah cinema is haram
No it is not. Don't be a stupid moron. Healthy entertainment is 100% halal. Don't believe in made up stories in the name of Hadiths. Only Quran is real and is the complete guidance for life.
@@balthajar5205 sounds good but how people can control in entertainment sector Islamic way.
Stay away it's better than all fitna comes.
But UA-cam is halal
