This is fabulous! My father retired back home to the DR . He loves being back home. Now my mom (they are divorced) wants a house in DR. I think apartment is safer and less maintenance. I will show her this video. The security for 24 hours is a piece of mind!

For anyone viewing this, remember, Districo Nacional will be more expensive than living in Villa Mella or Santo Domingo Este, but if you work in that area it's best to live near (because of traffic)

I like how those new houses are built in DR - rationally and well thought out .. there is a lot of space for everything and everyone. Personally I love two-floor apartments .. they give you a feeling of a private house .. but my favorite place is still on the rooftop .. the higher the better :))
Will be there soon!!! I worked at the Punta Cana airport for American Airlines and stayed at Ocean blue for a month! The Dominican friends and coworkers was the most amazing experience I had in such a beautiful country. Currently working on funds to obtain a house in Higuey or Bavaro.

That's really nice for the price... in Atlanta where I live that apartment would be over $2,500 a month. San Domingo looks like a big city.

I'm in NYC an apt like this would run about $3,400 - $4,000 a month..😒. I'm lowkey jealous would LOVE to have an apartment like yours... I have a 2 bedroom 1 family house in the Dominican Republic. 👎🏼 totally not happy.

@@eddiemonesti5671 Santo Domingo D.N. (National District: Ciudad Colonial, Gascue, Naco, Piantini, San Carlos, Gualey, etc), is the capital has a population of about 960,000. Then, you have the Province of Santo Domingo with a population of 2,400,000, those are the municipalities (each with their elected majors and city governments) that surround the D.N., Santo Domingo Norte, Este (the capital of the province), Oeste, with all the other suburban areas: Los Alcarrizos, San Luis, Guerra, etc, what we call Gran Santo Domingo or Mancomunidad de Santo Domingo. The metropolitan area is over 3 million, but if you break it down to the D.N., Santo Domingo is not the largest, the city was divided. In the past it was all one.

That apartment is beautiful I really love it. You know you have great taste. I also love the all white, the sterile look. I always think less is more. I think i could really see myself in an apartment just like that, and the price is great at least I think it is. I just came back from RD. Your videos are always informative. I am looking to maybe move there. My wife is from Mao so I have to think about how life would be.
Thank you. If you haven't stayed for an extended period of time try doing that first to see if you like it.
@@NorberisR I was there for a month and I loved it. Life is calmer than in New York. My wife is from there so that is why I am considering moving but I love it there.
Santiago is less expensive than Santo Domingo and it's just 45 minutes from Mao. My family is from Mao too.

It’s nice but the price was more than I expected. It’s probably because I live in Atlanta in a $500k house with $1200 mortgage. I am looking to buy or rent in Bavaro. Good luck and it’s nice!!!
Keep in mind its furnished. If it wasn't furnished you could get it less than $1k

Acabo de descubrir tu canal , empece a seguirte , veo que este video tiene 2 años , ahora mismo la renta de un apartament asi , en NACO , paga hasta 2 mil dollares mensual o mas .
I really like Ensanche Naco area. $1200 is a great price considering the location and how big the place is. It may even be cheaper for the owners. I pay much more than that for a 1 BR condo in the US that I own. Naco is one of the areas I'm considering settling in when I move to the DR. If anyone is going to visit SD i highly recommend AirBnB in this area. El tapón es horrible during rush hour but it's relatively close to all the areas in SD you would visit such as the Agora mall, Sambil, Zona Colonial, avenida Venezuela etc. The LA fitness gym in the area is really nice too.
Yes, this is a nice area. And you are right during rush hour you don't want to leave your apartment..lol! My husband will not leave the house during that time. But as you said it's really close to everything.

It seems to be the same area from where we reserved our apartment for this winter
This is the Naco area so if the apartment was in this neighborhood it could be a possibility.

That's actually extremely expensive here. The goal would be to buy a home if you're gonna move here. You'd be surprised what you could get for less than $800. Santiago would be my choice....I lived in SD (Bella Vista) and the traffic is horrendous.
1200 a month on for luxury properties, mine is just 150 a month

Love your honesty Norberis! Lol...it looks great, but I would be concerned about the noise traffic from cars and those motorcycles. Are there areas that have more motorcycles than others? When I’m home, I want the peace and tranquility of only hearing birds and the wind blowing through the trees.
It's quiet in this area. There is no area in Santo Domingo that you will here complete silence. This is a city of 3 million people. As I mentioned in the video it's very quiet during the afternoon and night time.

I live in Residencial Amapola in Altos de Arroyo Hondo. Very quiet área. 24/7 security. Close to Carrefour.

Is this more like an advertisement for this apt or did you really rent it? Because for someone from DR you'd definitely over pay, way better deals there than $1200 USD. Those unfurnished are around $400-$500 USD in SD.
This video is exactly what i said it was. I rented it. When I do promo videos I tell it to my viewers I have no reason to mislead anyone. Financially, I'm good trust me I don't have get over on people..lol! Obviously have no clue what you are talking about and if you do. Find me a 2 level, 2000 sqft apartment, 3 bedroom 3.5 bath and a service room, fully furnished, with 24 hour security, 24 hour concierge, with elevators, 3 covered parking paces in the Naco area for $400 to $500. I'll wait.

El Jefe you said unfurnished. Well this is furnished with amenities and security and in Naco one of the top 3 neighborhoods in SD and 3 bedrooms and 3 levels. Sure you can get an unfurnished 1-2 bedroom in Este for much less

And no dont go to English sites targeting Americans, use spanish ads that will show u what locals pay..make sense? Americans investors go to the DR and buy buildings for 10k, spend $5k in renovations and list them in English to resell for $100k and sucker gringos buy them lol.

This is not overpriced at all, in Philadelphia this would be $2500, in NYC $4-6k. You’re not getting all that for $500 in Naco stop it. I think you just watched some videos and heard you can get a nice apartment in DR for $500 which is true, but not all this lol

Depending on where you rent they will ask for proof of income.

Hola - Is this in Piantini? When I come to the D.R. I stay near the beach in Juan Dolio, trying to determine what part of S.D. this area is in. Looks like the city, but I don't know my way around the city very well.

@trene22 it's very close, just east of Piantini. The area is called Ensanche Naco. Check it out on the map. Juan Dolio is much further east of SD.
As I mentioned in the video the area is Naco. The next neighborhood over in Piantini.

I maybe interested in that from an invest perspective, or do you know anyone who does assist with this. I'm not Dominican, so I know that can make a big difference with long term stays and purchasing property. Any assistance or advice is appreciated.

Hay I have a question, I'm moving to Santo Domingo from Brazil in a couple of months. My wife is American but her family is from Santo Domingo. I lived in the USA for 31 years so I'm fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. What type of job should I pursue in DR with the language skills I have ?
I don't recommend pursuing a job here because of the wages. However, you can look into bilingual schools, hotels, international hospitals, call centers.

2. Even though I like Santiago I like the apartment. Nice space and it doesn't seem too busy en la capital.
3. Are you going to so a video on education in the DR? I heard in the video you said your daughter was doing school. I would like to know about education options there.
I am happy to be back, especially under the conditions of not having to depend on the DR government for money...lol! Its really not to busy before and after rush hour. My daughter is still doing online classes in the Florida. We haven't taken he rout of school over there yet.
@@NorberisR could you all still do Florida virtual school for her? I'm in the Tallahassee area and if I move my son abroad in the future I was thinking about this option but I would still have an address here in Florida. As for not relying on the government I agree!!! Lol.

YES! have a roof top party and invite me and my Dominican girlfriend. That's an amazing apartment for $1,200. My house mortgage in Maryland alone is $1,620. Does the $1,200 include your utilities?

Yes you can! However, maybe not a 2 level. But you can get something just as nice for around $800.

@@phillosc forget Santo Domingo. Go to Santiago, the second largest city. For $500 - $800, you get a REALLY nice place, 3 bedrooms as well. That's where I am moving too this year.
@@joelkaben thats Wasup bro, I’ve stayed in Santiago a few times near the Monument but idk being from Philly with cold and no beach, I like the Santo Domingo Malecon and big city atmosphere. Also I get kind of a race vibe sometimes in Santiago. It may be in my head but everytime i order an Uber there and they see I’m black they pull off, it never happens in SD. It happens literally every time in Santiago...maybe because I’m dark they think I’m Haitian idk
