  • The Nevada County Narrow Gauge Museum held one final Sunday Steam Up to finish off the 2023 season. Join us for an action-packed visit as NCNG #5 and railbus #97 run between the museum and the woods platform. Antelope and Western #1 makes its usual runs through the meadow, sporting a temporary, new whistle! This single-note hooter was off the Wilmunder family's other steam locomotive, which is a Heisler. Some surprises await us in the meadow, as the train passes by the newly restored West Side Lumber Company snowplow, en route to "Camp Valentine"!
At the end of the day, one last doubleheader was run with the #1 and #5. Three camera angles capture all the sights and sounds as the engines blast up the 7% grade! What a great way to end the day.
Shoutout to my amazing camera crew! I couldn't do all this without you guys.
I hope you enjoy this video! If you do, please consider liking, sharing and subscribing.

Amazing video! #1’s new whistle caught me off guard since it usually carries the 3 chime whistle.

@stevemellin5806 My guess is the track from the museum grounds to the woods is approximately 1/3 of a mile. The meadow loop is just under 1/4 of a mile, and the Northern Queen line and loop adds about 1/4 mile. This makes for just under 1 mile, excluding all track used for sidings and the like. Hope this helps!
