It's honestly insane how you keep dropping these videos at the perfect time from the last aha, I got all my countries (past and present) settled just now

For my taste, your capitals are a bit too "equidistant" to each other, both in terms of actual distance and in terms of the interactions you are planning. For me, it makes the whole setting feel kind of small if everyone is aware of each other - especially for a devolved setting I'd keep fairly lare portions of here-be-dragons on the "known" maps of any given region. Maybe form a cluster or 2 of loosely connected cities with the types of interactions you propose, as well as some isolated ones that would be more or less mythical with very infrequent or contact to the rest of the setting. Like, with your setting, I might put some sort of wasteland between Esboria and the Winswept Wilds/Marshwood as a consequence of the Empires clashing there, and have a group of cities in Galaniadh and Esboria, and another smaller group along the West coast. The 2 groups may be aware of each other, but have no established trade routes and infrequent connections. I might put cities in the Evening Isles and/or Heldyr that are losely connected to the Galaniadh/Esboria Cluster, the north east I'd probably keep as to-be-(re-)discovered by the players, with at most old myths about a city in the mountains or something like that. There could also be a city in the wasteland in the south, whose magical protections are failing and therefore reaches out for the first time in ages for help.

That's a completely fair assessment, as well as some really cool ideas.
You've got me curious about how the different sovereignties would navigate an Age of Rediscovery, as well as how the players might influence it...
And yeah, a lot of times, when I find myself having the best ideas is when I'm looking at someone else's work and thinking "not how I would've done it..."
      Happy Building!
