Quick history summary: Angus says "I've drowned in the fires, but haven't lost my soul", this is in reference to the ending of gloryhammer's last album, where angus mc fife XIII jumped into the raging fires of mount schiehallion, and thus he was believed to be dead. In the Angus McSix universe, Angus McFife XIII is reborn as Angus McSix, while in the Gloryhammer universe, the next album will be a throwback to the times of Angus McFife II.
I love how excited you are over this, it was an amazing comeback and I loved the diss lines towards Gloryhammer
I've seen several reactions to this song/video, and I have yet to see any reactor comment on the awesome ridiculousness of Angus kicking down a forcefield :P
Honestly this song was so much better than the new official Gloryhammer song for me. I cant wait to hear the new album.
As someone who was devastated when Thomas was chucked out of Gloryhammer, I too adore every syllable of this song. And it kicks the $hit out of 'Fly Away' (Gloryhammer's extremely average first single with the new guy).
Angus McSix is Thoms Winkler's new band. Gloryhammer members all have character names, their lead singer's character is Angus McFife.
He went from angus mcfifth to angus mcsix hence one better
Their guitarist is Thalia Bellazecca, formerly of Frozen Crown. She's pretty much the reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix. A lefty that SHREDS! (It also doesn't hurt that she's a beautiful lady.) 🤘😁
That‘s awesome!
your reactionand smile is infectiouc. this is an awesome channel
Thomas Winkler, aka Angus McFife / McSix, was surprisingly fired by Gloryhammer. There was no meaningful statement from the band. A few weeks before there was an internal band scandal about sexism and racism. Away from the stage, Winkler is a notary in Bern, Switzerland. He will probably have brought his expertise into this dispute and what the legal consequences of the band's behavior are. The expulsion could have been the consequence of that.
I've seen various possible explanations, but the most common one is that Chris was fed up with Thomas unable to sing properly live. It's claimed he blew his voice years ago and refused to take vocal training.
Judging from live footage from 2020 and 2021, that seems to be true, as Thomas clearly had trouble singing properly while on stage (the high notes in particular were a big issue) and he seemed to be out of breath constantly.
@@AO968 The argument sounds reasonable, but it's not credible with this band. Gloryhammer evolved out of Alestorm and like them it's a fun band. Gloryhammer is a superhero parody and a "serious" singer doesn't fit the concept. Thomas' commitment was also no coincidence. The founders searched for a suitable singer for two years. When they asked Thomas, he refused at first. They had to ask Thomas a second time to join the band. Gloryhammer deliberately wanted exactly this singer. The complaint that he doesn't sing properly doesn't seem believable.
the scandal happened a few days after Winkler was fired
@@Mardanzo sorry my mistake. First he is fired and then the chat logs and the allegations of abuse from at least one woman, the bassist's ex, appear. The short sequence suggests that there is a connection. The termination by e-mail also suggests a previous dispute.
