For some reason, watching Melissa work, reminds me of the YT video with the gal that went to the mall buck naked, except for the 'clothes' that were painted on! God bless you Folks!
Great job on splitting that wood guys I thought those jeans was going to split at any time melissa wow looking awesome lol my guess was wrong love your vids keep it up 😘
Pull the logs to where you want to stack wood. Cut into rounds. Split in place. Back out log splitter along the log line. Less handling of the wood. Awesome videos and that splitter is awesome!!
Great teamwork, really good splitter. Would take me 4 times longer to do that much with 22 ton husked. Wife not able to help, kids and grandkids grown and busy. You are fortunate in so many ways.
Outdoors With The Morgans no no no it was all my idea no one else's just mine all mine mine mine mine ha ha ha jk but on a serious note when I saw you backing the trailer up to the splitter it was such a relief but now you need a bigger trailer
You should look into an old chain/paddle hay conveyor that farmers used for filling there hayloft and put a small Honda motor with a belt drive to run the elevator. A friend of mine has one and it's great for filling dump wagons. Anyways I enjoy your videos. All the way from Lucan Ontario 🍻
Hi Mike and Melissa, i am a new subscriber up in British Columbia Canada if you just lower the table the wood would stay in one place. I cut lots of wood to feed our out door boiler that heats 10,000 sq. ft. of living space in three homes. We have 20 acres of trees, mostly fir and maple. That splitter is awesome.
Yes I noticed that when editing the video. Its amazing what I pick up when you watch the video that you don't think about when doing the work because you are focused on other things
Thank goodness I made my guess assuming Melissa would be the A number 1 helper!!!! Well done, guys. Love that teamwork! I can use your videos to show my employees how teamwork really WORKS!! Stay warm!
Wow that's a awesome splitter, great team work. also yes there seem to be more trees dying everywhere. no need cut live stuff. I think agricultural spraying is the demon, they seem to spray no matter how hard the wind is blowing.
I found it so satisfying going out into the woods to clean up all the dead fall so it wouldn't rot away & go to waste, plus, as your walking through the woods, it makes it so much more pleasant not tripping over fallen debris, not to mention it looks nicer.
I'm missing a thumb on my left hand because I got in a hurry when using my log splitter and I've been using one for 20 years. Them spitters will get you
I have a splitfire 3465 with a 4 way wedge accessory. I believe it has a 15 second cycle time end to end, so in that 15 second time frame you have 8 peices of wood 4 forward 4 back. She would need help with that splitter. The down side is you need a lot of hands to keep it at full speed which is a bit stressful as the operator. Doesn't push it into a trailer either, but it's really fast in that size wood if you can get split wood off the beam and a new round loaded I'm still hung up on a Eastonmade with a box wedge.
Wow, that was quick. You need the whole family to help and maybe a neighbor or two. I was going to get out and split wood today, I have 5 Ash trees on the ground and cut up but this weather got me. It's raining and it's mixed with snow. Just another day in Indiana. Have a great rest of your weekend. GOD BLESS
Hey don't know what is going on, I'm not getting any notifications from your channel. I've just found out I have missed the last 4 or 5 videos. 😞 Now I gotta surf to find your new ones. You and Melissa sure made fast work on that pile of firewood. That was awesome. You two take care.
that is a nice splitter wolf ridge is only a hour and a half from me, that said if i had someone setting up chunks for me i think i could beat that time with my fiskars. lot more work to do it that way though.
Do you think it's the machine or the 4 way wedge? I think another comparison video is due with a 4 way wedge on your other splitter, since you have so much free time. Lol😁
Hi, I'm learning to split logs by watching You Tube videos. Your machine is working at a good pace. Some splitters are too fast and somewhat dangerous for a beginner. My neighbor 'HAD' a 45' property-line live oak fall on the roof of my 110 year old Queene Anne house. Unbeknowst to me as the tree service people started to cut it down, the homeowners insurance agent told the trimmer to 'drop' the branches close to the side of the house where a branch was cut. They were not covering for removal. I was only given $500 TO CUT IT UP AND TAKE IT TO THE STREET, ABOUT 100 FEET AWAY. So that's why I need to learn which way to cut-up a tree quickly and safely and do some splitting of large pieces. I'm able-bodied and 70 years old. I love your team work and when Melissa found that heart-shaped chunk, I thought you should have saved it, at least a small piece of it and hang it on your bedroom wall. I'm enjoying your videos. I just subscribed today. Thank you!
Melissa really liked the heart-shaped chunk of wood. I would have saved it and cut some 1" thick pieces and made up some poetry or a sayingto hang upon a wall: "Our love feels so natural". "Your are so warm and full of light, I saved this one for tonight", etc. Oh well.
great video Mike yes i am going to be getting one of those splitters the one that i can put inside my mill and split kindling as we make a lot of that as well
Conveyor would speed the whole operation up. Could have been done in 5 minutes if you didn't have to stop to clear the shut. Look around some of the old farms in the area to see if there's an old conveyor that can be rescued and move the wood for you.
Do you Mike, have any health problems that prevent you from working? It seems like Mellisa does all of the work and you just watch her? All the best, Edgar
Mike, I think that you did better when you were not under the time clock, , plus you spent enough time moving wood that you could have easy trimmed 45 seconds off the process time no problem. but that comes practice, I think the only way to push that splitter to the limits is a conveyor and another helper to push the wood to the conveyor and help with re splits. that thing is a real splitting machine,!!
Not only has your life changed, but I find myself using UA-cam for all my entertainment, TV channels have lost the plot they don't know what real, wholesome entertainment is anymore...
Really quick machine you have there. Be very careful around it though. Also the piece shaped like a heart was cute. I turned a quarter-sized splitting maul out of hickory to use when I am making bowl blanks. It took longer to turn than it did for you to split the wood on your ranger. Had a nice evening
My wife likes to help me with the firewood, she says it's a better workout than going to the gym. I noticed your wife goes to the gym, does she feel the same way? It's relaxing for me to saw up trees and process them for firewood, I used to help my great grandfather and grandfather with their firewood and I recently rebuilt my grandfather's wood splitter. It had a briggs on it that lasted for over 40 years and I finally had to replace it. My father told me he was proud of me for putting the effort in on such a old piece of equipment but it is a well designed wood splitter that has served 4 generations and now 5 because my son and daughter helps me now. Firewood is a great way to teach kids a good work ethic. I love it, and I love to watch your videos. I was wondering if you use firewood or if you just sell it, and if you do what kind of stove or boiler you have.
Hi Mike & Melissa, I wrote a few weeks ago about logs for turning. Today when I was finishing a bowl I saw something in the bowl that might replace that heart shaped log. If you send me your address I will gift it to you. If you would like to see a photo send me your email and I will send a photo. Enjoying hour videos and thought this would be my thanks to you for all the pleasurable hours you have given to all of us that follow your channel. Joel
Here it is almost valentines day, it's date night, and your beautiful wife shows you a heart. Shut that splitter down boy!! You've got better things to do.
About what i thought...The same time as it takes for the wife to get those pants all buckled up . You better be careful or you will pinch her finger off . Gota love that wedge system on that splitter tho .
The uhd video quality of your videos is awesome! I'm envious of your setup with all the rk equipment, but hey you earn it. You should have cut out a small plaque of the heart shape piece -Valentines day is coming up-come on Mike, think ahead lol. Great job though!
My wife and I watched this video and made a guess before we saw the time. Oh my we were way off you two make quite a team. We do enjoy these videos of yours. Melissa is a worker and funny as well.
@@iPhil77 I'm actually looking for smaller, I only do maybe 10 cord of wood a year right now. I'm mostly splitting ash, oak and the occasional sugar maple.
TheLuke1184 The small version that mike is currently demoing is 50 cord a year type of a machine and the that machine is $6,500. So if you have immediate family around you that burn firewood for heating, or if you just want to do many years of firewood splitting into a single day or weekend. Most people wouldn’t have a need for a machine like that.
I have one of the 35 ton Wolf Ridge splitters. I am normally splitting wood that is about 27 - 28" long and up to 36" in diameter. Since their are two of you doing it, why not take the splitter to where you are stacking the wood, back up to the side you're operating from, that way one person can grab the wood and split it while the 2nd is stacking it. I do this by myself. The stuff I can't lift I will roll onto the lift.
Mike that splitter is fast, and so is Melissa🏋️♀️. Can you just imagine how much faster that maple could have been split if you could have kept up with them. Oh well like everything in life, there's always a weak link.🔗 Just pulling your⛓ chain Mike, I'm sure you have a lot of strong qualities.
That's Gettn it done Fast!!👍👊
Nice cutter....the log splitter is nice too...😉
For some reason, watching Melissa work, reminds me of the YT video with the gal that went to the mall buck naked, except for the 'clothes' that were painted on!
God bless you Folks!
Looks like wolf ridge makes some great equipment.
Sure wish I could recruit such a helper !!!!!
Great job 👍
Awesome!
God team work
Who would have thought spitting wood would draw such a visual crowd. Lol. I really enjoy your videos
Dead trees equal $$$.
haha thanks james!

Melissa I keep saying it but you are soo funny 😆 the heart shaped maple would have made a nice present! Hint hint amazing splitter
You should’ve saved the heart shaped piece and made hot plates for Christmas presents!
Would like to see a video about if/how you manage diseased and standing dead trees and why you chose your approach.
But like the machine to !😂😁😎
Awesome teamwork! Splitting that heart 😢😢😂
@@Morgansunleashed You should have put it too the side lol
Cool you used my suggestion of using the trailer for your split wood A+

that was fast , i used to help a friend of mine that did tree removal and firewood we worked hard
Man, that is awesome, how much do one of these cost? This thing would be so much faster than the new splitter we bought from family Farm and home.

super fast really neat to watch, nice to make sure you and Melissa are safe
Would be interesting to compare your old log splitter to this one with an equal amount of wood to see how much faster it is.
I am going to say hello hunter

This definitely took care of the wood.
Hearing protection! Thanks for the video
It is good to see y'all working together!
A trick I learned years ago was to take 2 single split pieces off wood and put the 4 way in between them. Splits 2 at once. Saves time
That maple is good if you got a smoker.🥓🥩🐓🦌🐖
Mike with all the safety gear, Melissa ready to hit the mall. Lol 👍
Yep how long will her gloves last?
Can you put taller sides on that trailer? So you can put more in there.
Wow that's a awesome splitter, great team work. also yes there seem to be more trees dying everywhere. no need cut live stuff. I think agricultural spraying is the demon, they seem to spray no matter how hard the wind is blowing.
A very nice demonstration. Great equipment and great teamwork! My favorite frame is at the 4:30 mark. 👍🏼 Melissa 😍
If your taking it into the woods could you mount a hitch on the rear of the wagon and drag your wagon and splitter out all at once ? Nice 👍
Wow---that worked really well.....that is the perfect setup

Great video guys.
My estimate of no more than 7 minutes was within the ballpark. 32 rounds, +/- 15 second cycle time.
I wish I had that much forest for fire wood. That was impressive.
The firewood machine I like takes 4 or 5 14 foot long logs and cuts them into measured logs with NO handling. A much nicer way to go.

How much that splitter cost?
