Idk y’all the chive kite hill cream cheese has my wallet in a choke hold lol, it’s my fav! I’ve used the plain one to make cream cheese icing and that was good too, but I’m not a plain cream cheese person so I can’t take up for it on its own.
I’ve been vegan for 13 years so I’m very familiar with Tofutti. 😂 It’s not very good by itself, but it’s good for the base of French onion dip and inside of cheesecake!
Been veg and vegan for a long time too and I’m use to tofutti. I sometimes use it as a mascarpone replacer or cheese cake or anything else. If you add stuff to it works, the texture is right. It does have an aftertaste though but not when it’s mixed. Too bad it’s all soy, since I’m trying to avoid it.
@@trueworship365 I tried Nora cooks. It worked well, but I did cut everything in half for a small cheese cake. I also used half silken tofu and not all tofutti. Best

Violife is by faaaaar my favorite so now I really want to try to find wayfair. Thanks for the video! Also I tried yoplait oui because of you and I am in love. 😍
Violife has been my favorite too,, although pricy. I definitely want to try wayfare.. Eating bagels and lox nearly every Sunday for decades and eating Philly cream cheese off of a spoon, I feel like an authority. Tofutti was good in a pinch, easy to find, and better priced. I like it ok but it's not as good as Violife. Miyokos cream cheese was vile. Too sour. Her butter is fabulous though. Kite hill, I don't remember why, but knew I'd never buy that one again.
Yassss! Violife is a staple in our house, my kids will just eat it straight up out the container! I feel like I can put my faith in ya’ll from here on out because the yogurt and this one, you guys are 💯 accurate for me!🙌🏾
So I’ve tried the Kite Hill chive flavor and it’s really good IMO, but I’ve never tried the original and only buy on sale lol. Maybe try that sometime? Def gonna look for the Trader Joe’s and Violife ones! Thanks for time stamps! ☺️
@@Glim246 lol i believe that. I can only find Violife across town and it’s more expensive but I still go get it sometimes 😂🤦🏻♀️ my fave cheddar hands down.
The Wayfare is “simple truth “ organic at Ralph’s /Kroger and all of their butter bean based products are outstanding! I love the queso. The closest to the dairy version I have ever eaten
We just tried violife after your review and OMG so delicious! Wish we could try your first choice but cannot find it. We always buy Trader Joe’s but now Violife is our preference. We will buy both. Your reviews are amazing as they are getting me to taste items I never tried before. You guys are my favorite channel. You will have many more subscribers soon!
Oh tofutti 🥴 vegan 15 years and I definitely got use to it because that’s all we had. It’s so amazing to see all the new alternatives that have come out in the past few years. It’s a great time to be vegan!
I’m shocked you guys didn’t like Kite Hill or Miyoko’s! Those are my favs for bagels or to cook with. Kite Hill’s sour cream is also the only V sour cream to even buy IMO. The Miyoko’s savory scallion cream cheese is perfection.
I don't necessarily think it tastes like cream cheese because it is SO tangy, but I happen to love tangy, so I totally agree. And Kite Hill is awesome too. I don't like their yogurts, but their cream cheese is bomb.
I actually like Tofutti on a bagel and love it in mashed potatoes. I tried the plain Kite Hill in mashed potatoes and didn’t like it, however the chive & jalapeño ones they have, I absolutely love! I’ve been on the fence about trying Miyoko’s & Violife just based on mixed reviews I’ve seen. I think I’ll try Violife soon though. As far as Daiya, I tried it years ago & never again. If they revamp formula I’d try again. Definitely love their cheezecake!
I just discovered wayfare, their nacho cheese is AMAZING. I've been allergic to dairy for well over a decade now and miss nacho cheese. The wayfare is so good I literally cried, then rushed out and bought everything to make super nachos and had super nachos for the first time in as long as I can remember. I've since bought their cream cheese and it's the first I find decent enough to keep eating. They have a customer for life in me if they keep their quality up!
Violife is my fav cream cheese but their cheeses (which I think are excellent) have a weird aftertaste. I like Miyoko smoked mozzarella and her butter is the best. I have only used her scallion cream cheese in a blend to make a cheese sauce with a bunch of other ingredients and it worked perfect like that.
Toffuti, Follow Your Heart, Field Roast, So Delicious, Tofurkey are my favorite brands and all their stuff is pretty good to me. Violife has good shreds and slices but their blocks melt into a puddle of nothing. There was a sprouted tofu brand that was really good I haven’t seen in a while too.
I love tofutti too i totally for got to add I love the sour cream as well i love snacking on crackers and sour cream..i know sounds weird but it's delicious.
I really needed this video!! I’m trying to go 100% vegan these days and the amount of non-dairy cream cheese options is insane. I literally just picked up a package of the Wayfare brand a couple days ago because it was new at the store, so I’m really relieved to hear that it’s a favorite and I didn’t waste my money haha
Wayfare makes my favorite sour cream, and I do like how they use butter beans, which is very different than other brands. I didn’t know Spero made a cream cheese, but I purchased their goat cheese alternative and loved it. Again, great ingredients because sunflower seeds are not as resource intensive as nuts, and it’s just different. As far as the title topic, cream cheese, no brand really makes a Philadelphia style cream cheese. For my tastes I’ve settled on a whipped blend of cultured nut cheeses like Miyoko’s or Treeline, and soft soy cheese like Tofutti or Trader Joe’s.
Great reviews... My absolute favourite is Violife for taste and value 200g £2.00😁 here in Scotland =$2.53 Only went full plant based in January 2024. Loving your channel, the excellent way you present your recipes 👏 Thank you for the inspiration, it's infectious.
Kite Hill is the best one lmao I've made a lot with it, it is tangy however that's how cream cheese typically was for me in the first place. Plus I've made a pretty noice cheesecake with it but interesting ranking overall!
I'm glad at the end you said you like sweeter cream cheeses because I like the savory. I buy Miyoko's but I use for Mac n cheese and on savory bagels. I did purchase Trader Joe's yesterday before seeing this video, so I may save it for a dessert preparation. I'll also admit I didn't like you guys at first, but you've quickly become one of my favourite channels. Keep it up 😊
Kite hill is the one I always buy, I like the taste and it has 0 grams of saturated fat, little sodium, and it’s only made with almond milk and salt, cultured.
I just love everything about the two of you, such a great relationship dynamic, and as usual, a wonderful video. The Daiya tasting made me laugh; everything I've tried from Daiya so far has just tasted like sadness.
I love watching you both! Too funny! I thoroughly enjoyed the yogurt videos!! I have had the Tofutti sour cream and had to doctor it up with lemon and salt....it would be interesting to see what the cream cheese tastes like. I don’t have a Wagman’s (?) here so I’m out of luck. But I will definitely try the Trader Joe’s (along with the yogurt). Thank you for taking the time to try these products out for us! I appreciate you both!!
Chives can improve almost any cream cheese. Whenever you try something plain, you're flirting with disaster! Whenever I've gotten a cream cheese I didn't love, I'd chop up some chives or green onions and let it sit overnight and it's just so, so much better the next day! My favorite is TJ's, but Wayfare is hard to find in Los Angeles. I've been wanting to try it for years.
Thanks for the vid. No matter what new one I try, I always ALWAYS choose Tofutti’s cream cheese and also their sour cream. They’re consistent in taste and texture and affordable even when there’s no sale. Sorry it didn’t work for you guys 🌝
I prefer the tofutti sour cream as well. I still haven’t found a cream cheese that is on par. Not sure if I have tried the Tofutti cream cheese though.
Violife melts into nothing, Toffuti doesn't have the signature tang or much flavor at all, Daiya is just awful. Kite Hill has the most cream cheese like flavor, but the texture is slightly gritty. The struggle is real lol. Kite Hill is the one I go with. Glad you tried the more expensive ones bc I had been eyeing them!
We usually buy Trader Joe's because the price is always much cheaper. And I like it a lot but it tends to have a layer of water on top and be more runny than I'd like. We love Tofutti! My husband and son eat dairy and they both love it. But we also don't tend to eat it by itself. We eat it on crackers with chili or soup. Or I bake cheesecake with it.
I don’t know how I’m just now finding your channel but you guys are so cute and fun to watch. I’ve been vegan for 18 years and remember the days of of just Tofutti and GoVeggie... and yes, I’ve always liked Tofutti products but I never liked cream cheese even in my non vegan years so I’m out on all of these. Glad to know I’m not the only one not a fan of Mioyoko’s... thought I was the only one. My boyfriend isn’t vegan but he loves food, you guys remind me of me making him try all my vegan products for honest reviews lol sometimes I think it’s just been so long for me since I’ve had the real things. Keep it up guys! 👍🏻
I find myself agreeing with all your viewpoints, especially about Miyokos. Her butter is amazing, I do like her pizza mozzerella too. But the fancy cheeses are not my thing. Haven’t yet had the new Daiya because I still have nightmares from 12 years ago about that flavor. For a bagel or savory meal, I’ve found the dairy free Boursin to be my go to “cream cheese” tastes just like the regular boursin IMO
Thanks for the taste test! My go-to has been Kite Hill. Don't mind the taste and like the texture. I've tried the TJ's and didn't like the taste... wonder if they reformulated? Also have tried the Violife, and it doesn't work as well on warm bagels... it melts a little bit like butter...
Thanks for the test taste. Never had a vegan cream cheese before so this was most helpful. Tried the plain Violife and thought it was decent. More buttery taste than Phillie. Worked really well in a spread I made. Unadulterated on toast, I preferred the cheddar flavor...had a better tang to it.
I have tried the Kite Hill with chives and like it along with Tofutti one. Don't like anything by Miyoko’s. We don't have the Wayfare one in my location but will give the Violife a chance. I like some of their cheese. Thanks for your reviews.....helping me out with the whole "can't give up cheese" journey. ;o)
Oh my goodness! This is the video I’ve been looking for! My son cannot have dairy and I tried the daiya cream cheese for him and he wouldn’t eat it and it smelled weird. This video validated that for me and gave me some great options. Thank you guys so much!!!!
You guys were great… enjoyed this video . Thanks. I’m making my daughter ( she’s vegan) and I needed to know which cream cheese to use to make her a dairy free cool whip-cream cheese cake topping with crumbled Oreo cookies topping it all off. Thank you guys…
😂😂 as being a day one with you guy's.when we heard Andrew say Tanya help! like she's an assistant, and than the shout out..i died laughing👏👏😂.. I laugh so much with you guy's, my 11 year old even knows Andrews voice now. and He runs to see what he's talking about when he hears me watching. He thinks you guy's are fun. Thanks guy's
I just ran across your channel after following a link for your peach cobbler....I am transitioning and have now sat here and watched a few of your videos. I appreciate the honest reviews. Violife is the only cream cheese I have tried this far and the flavored ones are good. I am going to try the Trader Joe's now since it is cheaper because I am frugal...I look forward to more from your channel. Dairy such as cheese, cream cheese and sour cream has been an issue for me to let go of altogether.
When I visited England, few years ago, there was a brand called SHEESE . They had various tastes, and they tasted like HEAVEN. I guess they still exist, I just don't understand how they don't sell over the world...
Violife is the way to go in my home! Then again, I have only tried Violife and Trader Joe's. The Tjs one is not too bad, but it's just pretty plain and like you pointed out, it's texture is inconsistent. I love the price point though! Now just out of pure curiosity I kind of want to try the Kite Hill one.
I just recently purchased Miyoko's cream cheese and had the same reaction...definitely not a good choice for a sweet dish. However, I love the garlic parm butter!
Kite Hill is my favorite, & I buy it regularly. I used to buy Tofutti back in the day when it was the only option, I & was ok with it. Now, though, I can’t go back. I don’t like the TJs, & I’ve heard it’s a relabel of the GoVeggie.
I actually really enjoy the Kite Hill. On its own, meh, but as a spread? I like it. It tastes more like actual cream cheese. Of course the only other one I tried was Simple Truth and it is made from beans....and you can tell. It tastes nothing like cream cheese to me. I will try the Violife and Trader Joe's though. Thank you!
I love cheese and ice cream and I'm not a vegan. I also have had so many issues with my stomach and constipation throughout the years, that I've finally had decided to look into vegan cheeses because it's gotten to the point where the pain from lactose intolerance is no longer bearable.
Most hard cheese has very little lactose, and lactose-free soft cheeses are indistinguishable from those with lactose… the only reason to avoid dairy cheese is an allergy to the proteins (whey and/or casein).
OMG, yes! I know that many vegans absolutely love Miyokos, but I am not a fan of her products and they are super expensive. Oddly enough, her cream cheese is the only product that I kind of like. When it's on sale, I buy it and put it on toast with tomatoes and seasoning. That combination is pretty good (to me, anyway!) AND I recognize that it tastes nothing like traditional cream cheese and is indeed kind of weird on it's own.
Treeline is the bomb and from my area and I started out having peppercorn or garlic herb and it wasn’t a cream cheese. So they’ve changed the packaging or recipe and including a cream cheese. I agree it’s not cream cheese but I love it. I just bought the strawberry to give that a go
Great vid guys. I don’t have a Wayfare and excited to try the Violife. But of the rest..I strongly believe that Tofutti is hands down the closest thing to real cream cheese. On a bagel or with crackers yum 😋
Could not agree more with the Miyoku , horrible, but so many reviewers seem to love it. Also agree on the Kite Hill though I like some of their products. I like the Violife but really am trying to stay away from so many coconut products because of the saturated fat. I think I’ll make the long trek to Trader Joe’s and try theirs.
Loved your cream cheese taste test. Im from Kingman Az, but I will definitely look for the Wayfair and Violife. Thank you for you great videos. BTW, my favorite vegan butter is Earth Balance and my fav mayo is Vegenaise.
Cream cheese IS cream cheese. As a Vegan I've learned to stop the substitutions. I'm happier with my food choices. I don't eat certain foods anymore. I have some original Spero sunflower cream cheese in my fridge. It is a great dip.....a bit to savory to sweeten. I use it to make Alfredo sauce and salad dressing.
It hurt my heart at the reactions you guys gave for the kitehill. It was good!! To me it actually taste like regular cream cheese but just not as potent.
I usually use cream cheese when cooking. Like one of my favorite finger foods is stuffed jalapeno wrapped in bacon. And to keep it simple I just use cream cheese to stuff the jalapeno with. So since these are being tested cold, I wonder if the top two or three hold their consistency or if they melt and go all over the place. If you're making cheesecake, for example or chicken and dumplings with a non-dairy milk and you add a non-dairy cream cheese, you would want those to melt evenly.
I just found your channel im about to be busy all day canceling everything rn 🙃 I really been looking for options on dairy free and just dk where or what to look for found some other options on cheese at trader joes i was so happy ! Since other stores near me dont have much options on dairy free....

the inconsistency with TJs is super annoying
We're so glad you found us now! And that's so funny you have him trying everything
100% Andrew had my taste buds, and demeanor. Thanks for sharing.
LOL
We LOVE "follow your heart" cream cheese!
After eating tofutti for years and years I love it I can’t explain why but that and kite hill chive are my favorite!
awesome
I’ve never seen the Wayfare brand, but could (and probably will) check out Trader Joe’s version the next time I go. These videos are so helpful.
Let us know what you think
Thanks for the taste test! My go-to has been Kite Hill. Don't mind the taste and like the texture. I've tried the TJ's and didn't like the taste... wonder if they reformulated? Also have tried the Violife, and it doesn't work as well on warm bagels... it melts a little bit like butter...
Someone else just said the same about Violife!
"It ain't the time right now... Lol 😂 Y'all are too Real and I Love it!!!💖
Thanks for the test taste.
You are so welcome! Hope you find one for him
I’ve been so scared to try vegan cream cheese so I’m looking forward to trying some now!
We hope you like!
You guys were great… enjoyed this video . Thanks. I’m making my daughter ( she’s vegan) and I needed to know which cream cheese to use to make her a dairy free cool whip-cream cheese cake topping with crumbled Oreo cookies topping it all off. Thank you guys…
Which one did you end up using and how was it?
@@SheisaBlessed1 i used true whip
You guys are going to blow up I just subscribed and love your vids
😂😂 as being a day one with you guy's.when we heard Andrew say Tanya help! like she's an assistant, and than the shout out..i died laughing👏👏😂.. I laugh so much with you guy's, my 11 year old even knows Andrews voice now. and He runs to see what he's talking about when he hears me watching. He thinks you guy's are fun. Thanks guy's
HAHAHHA, we're so happy to hear that you all are enjoying!
Kite hill is the best! I almost threw up when I tasted violilife cream cheese! Tofutti was definitely better than violife to me. But kite hill is #1
We're glad you like it!
Me with my unopened kite hill cream cheese in the fridge that I got to try 👁👄👁 .
Try it! To me, it tastes just like real cream cheese.
Give us a review🙏🏻😬
It's my favorite!
Okay so I tried it (i have a flavored one, its the everything seasoning) it was AMAZING 😍 . Now i need to try regular to see as well .
Brandi Andrews thanks for the update! Gonna try it as well
Treeline is my favorite. I must like cashew based things lol
HAHA, if you try the KH one let us know what you think
I just recently purchased Miyoko's cream cheese and had the same reaction...definitely not a good choice for a sweet dish. However, I love the garlic parm butter!
I can’t do any of Daiya's cheeses. I love that you two were honest because people act as though those cheeses are so good.
No point in being fake
Their cheeses are so gross. So oily feeling.
Kite Hill is my favorite, & I buy it regularly. I used to buy Tofutti back in the day when it was the only option, I & was ok with it. Now, though, I can’t go back. I don’t like the TJs, & I’ve heard it’s a relabel of the GoVeggie.
For my tasted buds.. TJ's & GoLife aren't the same... but we all have different tasted buds ;-)
@@seagrape2881 I believe the ingredients are identical.
@@paulaleach6058 funny how our tasted buds can taste things differently... might possibly be ratio or what.. idk. ;-)
I haven't tried a *ton* of cream cheeses but my fav is the kite hill chive... so tangy. my mom, who loves regular cream cheese, loves it.
I like we may need to do some flavored ones
This was HILARIOUS to watch 🫣😩😂😂😂😂
Please please can you guys make a spinach dip or one of those stuffed recipe dips, love love love the videos.
We have a spinach artichoke dip makeitdairyfree.com/vegan-spinach-artichoke-dip/
You guys should try the Follow Your Heart brand; I really like that one.
Thank you!
If you like it, we love it!
I love cheese and ice cream and I'm not a vegan. I also have had so many issues with my stomach and constipation throughout the years, that I've finally had decided to look into vegan cheeses because it's gotten to the point where the pain from lactose intolerance is no longer bearable.
I hope you find some options that you like
Most hard cheese has very little lactose, and lactose-free soft cheeses are indistinguishable from those with lactose… the only reason to avoid dairy cheese is an allergy to the proteins (whey and/or casein).
I’m so glad someone validated my disgust for the kite hill cream cheese, everyone else seems to love it 😂
HAHAHAH
Violife is our favorite! Even friends and family that are very picky (and not vegan) love it.
I'd love to see a video with you guys taking something you hated in a taste test and trying to make it palatable/delicious
Great idea
I love the kite hill one, it’s my #1, 😂 but I’ve never had the violife one yet, or the wayfare brand. The trader Joe’s one is gross to me.
Thank you so much for watching
I’m a very big fan of the Violife’s herb cream cheese, I never get plain cream cheese so some flavoring will suppress the non-cheesiness 🤣
BTW, my favorite vegan butter is Earth Balance and my fav mayo is Vegenaise.
ohhh, mayo would be a good test!
Kite Hill chives is by far my fav. Thanks
I don’t like the plain kite hill, but the everything bagel flavor is my favorite cream cheese
I am so grateful I found this channel🥰
so happy to hear that
I just found your channel im about to be busy all day canceling everything rn 🙃
I really been looking for options on dairy free and just dk where or what to look for found some other options on cheese at trader joes i was so happy ! Since other stores near me dont have much options on dairy free....
Just tried the Trader Joes (first time trying any plant based cream cheese) and it amazed me. Could not tell the difference from milk based product.
Love it!
Kite Hill brand everything is good with me, I’m not vegan but I try to be dairy free for health reasons and I had first found ibotta coupons for Kite Hill brand and gave em a try and now I’m hooked! I love their “everything” flavored dips and their chive cream cheese and their sour cream so much.
All my local grocery store has are Daiya and Tofutti, so thanks for the heads up. I may have actually tried them some time.
Do you have an Aldi near you? They have their own and it taste just like Trader Joes b/c same company pretty much ;-)
Miyokos mozzarella is the best vegan cheese mozz I’ve tried
the wheels?
@@MakeItDairyFree yes exactly
You two are so adorable! Thanks for sharing
Thank you!! 😊
I’ve had most of these! Solid ranking! I’ve never had the Wayfair...need to try to find🤗
Hope you enjoy!
Andrew... I am not getting made fun of in these comments for not trying it... me already giggling about the difference of how much Larissa takes to try each time vs Andrew. Love you guys 😂
HAHAHHAHA. It really is hysterical the difference
I’m so scared to try your favorite because I love miyokos😂😂 it’s so good when it melts on warm toast!
HAHAHA, we def think some people flip flop our results
