Oh yes. Definitely yes. Again yes. As a beginner in watercolours I am loving the journey. Sometimes when I'm done with the painting and don't like it, I turn it over and use the back as test paper. If I don't try, I won't learn. I like the idea so much of not getting so stressed about perfection. As a recovering perfectionist I am allowing myself to explore. You are such an encouragement and a blessing to our community. Thank you
I am 76, a super newbie just starting this wc journey and this couldn't be a better vid for me, anyway, to start with. I've recently watched a lot of your vids....am a fan, and quite a few others here on you tube but this one just made me breathe, relax and even though I'm not a sloppy person in other areas of my life, this sloppy looks awesome!! Thanks so much for sharing your time, talent and wisdom!
Oh my lord this is just what I need. I’m so uptight and a perfectionist in my career, I feel myself burning out. So I pick up my old art supplies for the first time in about 100 years to give my brain something different to do, and I start obsessing about being precise and perfect in this hobby…so tedious. Not fun. I watched your beginner tutorial yesterday and everything you said in the intro had me in tears. I couldn’t wait to get home today to fill tons of paper just practicing press dragon lift 😂 Catharsis! Thank you!!!
omg yes. I just started picking up watercolor (and your vids have been really helpful!). I am a super beginner. The "rules" have been overwhelming to the point where I cant even start anything. Fear of wasting supplies, fear of getting one color mixed into another, fear of planning things wrong. The whole reason I picked up painting was to have a nice relaxing creative activity to have fun with. All the rules are too much for a beginner like me I look forwarding to just playing with things and learning and exploring along the journey
I just started painting too, and my philosophy is "I'll learn the rules later!" :D Having so much fun just mucking around with paints, and learning as I go. Hot tip: get you some nice cotton paper as soon as feasible, it is literally a game changer.
As someone who’s a little OCD it’s hard to deal with a mess but that doesn’t mean I can’t handle a messy palette. I have 3 dogs and 5 cats (not all mine) I have more important things on my radar to obsess about. It’s so nice to receive absolution from you, Kristy, for a messy paint palette. Thanks 😅
No planning, allow haphazardly placing paint on loosely, happily & you'll get an idea or see an image in laying down 2 or three colors at a time or glazing over a slightly wet area melts into a new image or form or color, intuitive painting begins then I go with the spark some times the mud is beautiful! Much more fun😂 Thanks Kristy just needed you to say that to release my stress of trying so hard.
This is so cool for me to see because I'm one of those people that thinks my water has to be clean right now it's a little dirty and I'm going to leave it that way cuz I'm going to be water coloring this afternoon I just love the way you help me look at things
I'm an old timer, and work in oils and watercolor. I can get hung up on purity of line, clarity of a shade, blah blah blah, so more and more, I give myself a good long stretch to be a child again, see with beginners eyes again, and I realize that the longer I hang on to THAT the better my work. So, YAY YOU!
Kristy, you are so funny and fun! This proves most importantly that we don't take ourselves so literally and lose the joy in freely fun in art! You remind me to have fun.
I can hear the JOY singing off that beautiful page! I use a crystal candy jar for dirty paint water. It's pretty and it reminds me to not chase perfection. Great video!!🥰
Ooooh… I always deny myself the pretty things I want bc it feel silly when they have no purpose or when something I already have could do the same job. Such as the recycled plastic yogurt cups I use for my water cups currently. I bet using some pretty jars would make my heart happy!
Kristy your water color pallet does not lie you put in the art for joys sake! Please keep creating and making these beautiful paintings and products. I very rarely comment but I felt strongly about your beautiful pallet thank you for bringing me joy!
So... when I first watched this I wrote that I was literally having palpitations just watching. So....I got brave and just sat down without cleaning! whew, sweaty palms, shallow breathing, DIVE IN Debra!! Well I did it . Nothing I would show the world but I used dirty water, pallets etc. (I could not bring myself to put a dirty brush into paints but it's a start). There was some nice stuff happening. I even noticed some the double load looks happening. Don't know if I can do it alot BUT I see where I don't need to spend half an hour cleaning before I can pick up a brush. That' s actually been the biggest problem with my having time to paint. Have to have EVERYTHING perfect before I can even sit down. Times up before I get started. THANKS KRISTY for PUSHING ME TO TRY SOMETHING NEW. This senior citizen can learn new tricks. I love YOUR love of the process and the art. I have both of your brush sets and plan on gifting myself your beautiful pallet for my birthday this May. I also want you to know that my 11 year old granddaughter was watching a tutorial with me one day and fell in love with you. We allow her to watch ONLY YOU online and feel very safe doing so. Keep up the good work young lady. Don't let the haters get you down. This world needs more wonderful teachers like you.
Oh goodness wow yes!! Thank you for sharing!!! This exercise is so freeing and I hope everyone reads your experience!! Waving hello to your granddaughter!!!! XO
Thanks Kristy, I needed to hear this! I’ve only been watercoloring for about 5 months and lately I have been doing entirely too much planning. My only goals with watercolor are stress relief and joy…. And the planning definitely gets in the way of those goals. I really appreciate your content, thank you for always being such a positive voice!
Here for the sloppy❤ I did I challenge you issued awhile ago of using the paint that was on my pallette and I got A LOT of positive feedback from people. They loved the "vintage" look! Haha, this is a good reminder to let loose and be free. Have fun and have those happy "mistakes". Thanks Kristy❤
Oh my oh my oh my! I don't know if I can do this. My OCD is in Overdrive and just watching you is actually giving me palpitations I think I may actually have a panic attack full on before this video is over! I may need several glasses of wine before I attempt this!
Love this. I painted along using your palette, dirty water and “muddy” paint. Actually turned out pretty beautiful ❤ a great warm up to get you “loose” before painting
Love this way of doing things. I am new to watercolor and found that trying to paint anything I am always disappointed. I have taken to letting go and just watching three or four colors blend on the page can bring so much happiness. I worked out that I can print or stamp on the page and make bookmarks, now I have started to use tools to make marks and make landscapes. Learning to break the rules and just have fun is wonderfully freeing.
I am really, REALLY new to watercolor. BUT-when I slap some marks on the paper…muddy- like you’re saying-it turns out looking pretty, daggone good. Anyway-my sisters like it-and that’s good enough for me. I LOVE YOUR STYLE. And I’m gonna’ keep on learning from you! Yay Kristy!!!
This year I'm finally using the supplies I got several years ago. Got an expensive Sennelier set (with honey in it) before I knew anything and, yes, bubbles. 🤬 But...I also got a small ten color Daniel Smith set at the same time so I'm using that. My biggest hurdle is the amount of water I'm using. It's either not enough (I'm soaking my pallet beforehand but still) or it's way too much. And I know, the only remedy...is practice. Oh, your brushes are really nice! I got a set a few weeks ago. That dagger brush makes some really cool vines!
I just love your personality! You really are joyful and funny and fun. I was just lamenting how messy my pallets are, and now I’m going to go with it. No, you’re painting doesn’t look muddy. It’s muted in some areas and relaxing, while making the colors stand out.
So much joy Kristy, thank you for all of your inspiration! My daughter and I love your brushes and enjoy your paint palette so much, I’m in love with your choice of colors and always have so much fun painting with your set! Thanks so much!
This painting turned out absolutely gorgeous! I think we all need permission to be messy. I recently watched another art video about ditching the pencil and sketch directly with a pen. Embrace your lines and your mistakes and grow confident. This is giving me the same feeling of freedom, of enjoying painting. Thanks Kristy for always being an inspiration to nurture my inner child. ❤
I love this, Kristy Rice! I get caught up in doing it "right" and being fearful all the time, so thanks for reminding me of the freedom I can have when I just let myself be sloppy.
i first discovered your class on craftsy- i of course was a brand new beginner and i was able to create beautiful blooms without much expectation. now i’m into my second year and i’m progressing to the next level and finding myself getting frustrated becuse i’m in between the skills i’ve built & what i want to accomplish too soon. so to say i’ve been very negative and uninspired at the very least. this video just turned me right back around. thank you so much. and i know you’ve seen me comment about the palette i love the colors that are extruded from the carefully curated colors. i’m going to go be messy now- my 4 year old has had the right idea all along!
Ok will try the messy🙃🙃 today… but don’t know if I can get my pallet messy. 😂. Love you! Stop reading negative comments! Look what you have been able to accomplish, at your age. Your merchandise has sold out!!!! Glad you are feeling better. Thank you, I can live my art, because of you💕💕💕
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have been painting for years and you just showed me how stagnant I have become. It’s 1:30am but I’m looking forward to getting into my studio in the morning and getting sloppy! Hugs for this!
I was just struggling with the very thing you're talking about and I clicked on your video and lo and behold here you are talking about what I was fighting against as a good watercolor practice. Thank you!
I love your idea of saving your paintings whether you like them or not. To drag one out and look at it with fresh eyes can sometimes be so fun! Drag out some pens or your charcoal pencils after you pick a painting and see what ideas come by just drawing some circles or dots or lines or whatever your imagination can think of. I have been pleasantly surprised at what they turn out to look like. I just love your attitude and you have made this beginner believe it is possible to paint if you don't take yourself too seriously. Thank you sweet girl for being you!
Oh, the insanity! Part of my mind is shrinking from the seemingly chaotic style of messy painting, & then another part totally gets what you're saying. Ironically, yesterday I was painting like a 4 year old, lol. It was fun; I did several pages on the very cheap "watercolor paper" (pulp) I recently bought from Walmart. Surprisingly, I don't hate the paper. It's oddly satisfying & freeing.
Love you, Kristy! This gives me so much anxiety, lol. I can’t start a new project until my palette is clean, unfortunately. I find it hard to leave my studio if I haven’t cleaned up everything at the end of the day. Sometimes I’ll even wash out my palette mid-project. I know I’m wasting good paint, but the clean water and white paper give me energy. Funny, because I’m not really a neatnik anywhere else in my house.
Preach sister! lol Love that alter ego in the video. You had me rolling. Love your “sloppy” look. You hit the nail on the head about planning. I have my paint, paper and brushes but still haven’t done anything outside of swatching. Wish I could have given this video 2 boops. Thanks Kristi!
Welp, looks like I have begun my watercolor journey the right way! Hahaha I watched a few videos, then just started throwing paint at paper. I've learned SO MUCH over the last two months, making messes, making mud, and sometimes making stuff I really, really like. I'm learning what I like to paint, how I like to paint, and it's just the best thing that ever happened to me. Oh, for the record, I have also devoured probably 100+ hours of videos over the last two months as well, including many of yours, which is also a great learning tool. So thank you!
Thank you - thank you! You've help me let go, quit judging myself & do what I do best, sloppy! It feels good . Now; if I'd just leave it alone! I have the tendency to then overwork it to death, get discouraged & not pick my brushes up for awhile. Thanks for the inspiration, I really appreciate you & your work.
I tried doing my version and it’s definitely not nearly as beautifully muted colors because I don’t have a messy palette YET (although I am using your special beautiful palette and haven’t yet found myself letting it get messy because it’s so beautiful) and it was not as natural or flowing but that’s part of this “start sloppy” process and allowing myself to do it felt good. Even if I’m not particularly thrilled with the end result, it was a huge step for me personally because I struggle so much with beating myself up and not giving myself enough credit
I love the "be free"! Play! Play! PLAY! I'm new to watercolor and I love my art no matter what! It's a journey and process I love without focusing on control. That's what I'm learning most. Thank you soon much for all of your videos and advice, especially to be you!
Kristi you are so NEEDED in the art world. I would venture to say the vast majority of us who take up painting do not do it thinking we will be the next great master artist. Yet we get stuck in the rules and the expectations. I know you are right but it is hard to absorb this 100% and get free. I will keep trying. Thank you for being you!!
🎉🎉 I wish I saw this video in 2020 when I first tried learning watercolor. I stopped trying after 6 months or so because I thought I will never do it nicely. Now I paint with my 5 year old granddaughter and she paints with joy like you! And loves it! I felt a little pressure trying to teach her a few more techniques, but imma just leave it at the messy and joy parts for now and join her in that moment ❤ thanks Kristy ❤❤❤
As always words of wisdom I needed to hear. I am so appreciative that you were the first tutor I found when I decided I wanted to learn wc painting. If I would have found some of the other's although very good I would have given up. Thanks so much.
When i started painting (during the pandemic) I was ignorant enough to just, well, start. I bought supplies off Amazon and just played I didn't realize there were so many rules. I would only watch videos that addressed what I was trying to to do, let's say trees. Or palm trees. But I just kept going. Not the best paint, paper or brushes. Now I know there are rules I am supposed to follow and structured layers of learning. So I just didn't share that I use the dirty glass to mix a color, I use maybe the "wrong" brush to get what I want. In the back of my mind I keep thinking all the greats did what comes natural. You reenforced my desire to paint how I want. Talent...not so much. Joy and happiness.... Bingo. Thank you so much. And yes, my pallettes are all a mess. You never know what color I might need. ❤ From not so good at following rules. P.S. I bake the same way. Kind of measure, go by feel. I bake breads every week.
OMG I love this!!! I hadn't thought that muddy water can be a "supply" (I tend to get clean water very frequently), but I'll have to give that a try! I adore this color palette, I love the moody muted tones so much! 🥰
It's definitely more fun when done sloppily and mixing on paper. Feels good to let go..... I'm 3 years into my journey. Love your videos. Love your palettes and brushes
Looking at my 8, yes 8 mason jars of water…for white for yellow for black for cool, for warm, for purple.🤦🏽♀️ and then a separate one for gouache? Another one for metallics. Stop the madness now! Thank you once again KR !❤️
literally girl - you have the most expressive soul & talent that is so beautiful and speaks to me!! I cannot even believe how you prove the beauty, color surprises, and depth that can come from this approach (BTW, I love the painting.) I am just beginning and you make me feel so empowered and so much more free to put the brush to paper and that is how I will learn/discover and grow. And not to mention have joy while doing so [isn't that the whole point of any pursuit?] BOOP, BOOP, BOOP! and TY!
Wow oh wow you have hit the nail on the head for me!! I’ve been getting frustrated lately with trying to have my paintings come out “perfect”… I have no formal art training and trying to learn as much as possible from videos and books. This video has come at the right time for me… thank you Kristy for your insights and especially your enthusiasm!!!
Thinking I could never create a painting like the one you did…..I played a bit with my muddy water and dirty pallet and a few different brushes and I created a pretty cool picture! Hahah. Thanks for the inspiration❤
I love 💕 your videos…..I think you are fun and I learn so much from you like press, drag and lift! What else I have learned from you is to have fun and don’t be so critical of my work.Thank you!
wow looks like it's finally my year!! I do all these things. Dirty water, messy palette, I'm loving it. My new thing this year is to just PAINT. I take out 3 to 4 sheets of copy paper, yup white copier paper. I just go for it on these pages and usually they are terrible but I just get my brush going and let it flow. Then I get into another painting and I'm finding that it is more joyful. Keep up all you do Kristy, I'm painting today for the past 2 years because of you and your encouragement. Happy PAINTING everyone.
I put my watercolor art supplies away for the first time in almost 5 yrs. Nothing appealed to me. THIS appeals to me! Brush strokes and colors. Might have to unpack those supplies 🙏
Yes, yes, large a haha moment here....thank you so much! I love to paint but am too tense and wound up. I have a high stress job with a divergent brain. I bet the "get messy" will help my divergent brain during the creative process...which I would suspect change my neuro pathways...thank you (chef's kiss) I love you short tutorials, bite size is great for me
OMG!!! You have no idea how encouraging this is right now!!! I was in such a rut with my paintbrush!!! Thank you SO VERY MUCH for this!!! Love this!!! Sooooo needed this today!!! So much!!! 😊😊😊
So im very type A in life and very detail oriented, but with watercolor im choosing on purpose to be opposite!! We all need a place to be free of what holds us back or drives our need to be perfect. Thats why I love loose florals!! Although, I am finding, as I have become more proficient at watercolor, my natural tendencies do make an appearance and I allow them as long as it without over thinking as soon as it becomes a stress or a strict perfectionism quest; I put on the breaks. I love everything about what you teach and do Kristy! Do let any self doubt or naysayers get you down!! And I won't either even though I'm my only bad critic! ❤❤❤
Kristy I'm just loving your analysis of the beginning watercolorist. I'm she! I find that I don’t start with that perfect clean and organized toolset if you will, I won’t be an able to succeed.
This is GORGEOUS. Def wouldn't classify as muddy or messy. It has a more muted color story, yes, due to thenpalette/water mess but you HAVE PROVEN (as you always have) that bold is beautiful, free is beautiful. Now I've got to get myself to loosen up! Thats the very 1st reason i started following you back whenever-- your spirit comes thru & is infectious. YT let's me "rub elbows" with ya in hopes i catch some of it through your examples & constant encouragement. Glad to see your spirit is resilient & your talent & love for art hasnt been silenced. Off to go paint a but before another day of #WaterColorLive! #milesonthebrush
Wow so lovely! Will have to try to overcome some sensory issues that give me the icks so I can try this! You are not the first one I’ve heard say that being sloppy w watercolor supplies is good, but you are the first one to convince me! Thank you!💖
You are so talented! You could paint on a tomato with applesauce and muddy earth and it would be beautiful! I really love these colors my absolute favorite. Gorgeous!
Gosh thank you!!
Love you Kristy
Feel your pain. L is arrogant having trouble following her any more@KristyRice
You are very outspoken and I started watching you first. Thanks for your honesty

I need to get these ideas into my head.
I'm too nervous about
1) Right & wrong, and
2) Wasting expensive supplies! Ugh!
I am here for the journey. Heck, YES!! No judgement here. I have a need to paint and to get that paint on my paper. Here to blossom daily!
Wahooo!!!
I love the watercolor creative freedom you support in your work.
Thank you so much 😃

I’m so glad!! And listen I actually hate a mess in my life outside of art, go figure!!
I am a LOT OCD and this is something I'm still learning. I have found using a separate (cheap dishes from Ikea!) mixing plate is helping me. :)
No planning, allow haphazardly placing paint on loosely, happily & you'll get an idea or see an image in laying down 2 or three colors at a time or glazing over a slightly wet area melts into a new image or form or color, intuitive painting begins then I go with the spark some times the mud is beautiful! Go with the spark indeed!!
I cannot express how much I love your page! You make me want to paint all day. Your free style is just mesmerizing and contagious.
Wahoo! Thanks soooo much!

Sounds perfect!
I like to use a collapsible dog dish for water. Works great. Dirty water is nice to create a sketchy image first.
@@samcollage7682 that works!!
Ooooh… I always deny myself the pretty things I want bc it feel silly when they have no purpose or when something I already have could do the same job. Such as the recycled plastic yogurt cups I use for my water cups currently. I bet using some pretty jars would make my heart happy!

I remember painting with WC as a kid. Dirty water was a color! Love it!
Yessss!!
AMAZING! I would have never thought all that dull color could make something so pretty! Can't wait to try it! Thanks!
You are so welcome!

I'm going to love 2024! Heck ya! I'm here for it, And my watercolors. More Joy! More play! More fun! Slopabeautiful!
Slopabeautiful!!

This painting is SPLENDIFOROUS!!!
And sooo is that word!!
Love this. I painted along using your palette, dirty water and “muddy” paint. Actually turned out pretty beautiful ❤ a great warm up to get you “loose” before painting
Sounds great!
As a beginner in general, the fear of mistakes is very real! Gotta try this!
I understand :)

Not muddy at all! Love it! I over plan and over work my art…. 👏 so yeah… just go for it in 2024!
Right on!

You are so welcome!
I love convenience colors, but I do know how to mix colors and I love to do that for fun.
Awesome :)
I have booped, and I have enjoyed the way your art flows onto the brush and onto paper straight from your minds eye! Awesome!
Aww thanks!
This painting turned out absolutely gorgeous! I think we all need permission to be messy. I recently watched another art video about ditching the pencil and sketch directly with a pen. We’re going to knock that fear out one way or another! lol!
Never thought of these tips and I will definitely try them this year.
Please do!
Lovely. Your work is lovely. You are lovely
Your comment is lovely! Thanks!
I love this whole painting!
The muted colors are so pretty! 🩶
i first discovered your class on craftsy- i of course was a brand new beginner and i was able to create beautiful blooms without much expectation. now i’m into my second year and i’m progressing to the next level and finding myself getting frustrated becuse i’m in between the skills i’ve built & what i want to accomplish too soon. so to say i’ve been very negative and uninspired at the very least. this video just turned me right back around. thank you so much. and i know you’ve seen me comment about the palette i love the colors that are extruded from the carefully curated colors. i’m going to go be messy now- my 4 year old has had the right idea all along!
Oh heavens I LOVE THIS! Thank you for sharing!!
Wow … love love this. A newbie here .. been playing for a few years but need to play more .. so starting today big time
Oooooh how exciting!
Ok will try the messy🙃🙃 today… but don’t know if I can get my pallet messy. 😂. Love you! Stop reading negative comments! Look what you have been able to accomplish, at your age. Your merchandise has sold out!!!! Glad you are feeling better. Thank you, I can live my art, because of you💕💕💕
Sooo how did it go??!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have been painting for years and you just showed me how stagnant I have become. It’s 1:30am but I’m looking forward to getting into my studio in the morning and getting sloppy! Hugs for this!
Did you paint something sloppy?
This is my jam. Never done it clean.😊
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I was just struggling with the very thing you're talking about and I clicked on your video and lo and behold here you are talking about what I was fighting against as a good watercolor practice. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Yes! I never dismiss a paper. I’ve had many affordable and good surprises
Follow that energy. It’s all good :)
Absolutely LOVING YOUR VIBE. You've greatly inspired my new OBSESSION. Watercolor is Life...
I’m honored to be your inspiration!
🤗
Welp, looks like I have begun my watercolor journey the right way! Hahaha I watched a few videos, then just started throwing paint at paper. I've learned SO MUCH over the last two months, making messes, making mud, and sometimes making stuff I really, really like. I'm learning what I like to paint, how I like to paint, and it's just the best thing that ever happened to me. Oh, for the record, I have also devoured probably 100+ hours of videos over the last two months as well, including many of yours, which is also a great learning tool. So thank you!
Hearing this feels like magic in my brain!! Go you!!
I will never give up my color mixing, but I i am definitely all for the messy palette!! 😊
Good compromise!
Didn’t think the painting was at all muddy. Really enjoyed the lesson and want to try it out.
It was a delightful result :)
Absolutely. It’s about allowing yourself to be okay painting something messy. It’s a huge breakthrough :)
Those flower colors are everything!!! So pretty!! I’m in!!!
Wahooo!!!!
I love the "be free"! Play! Play! PLAY! I'm new to watercolor and I love my art no matter what! It's a journey and process I love without focusing on control. That's what I'm learning most. Thank you soon much for all of your videos and advice, especially to be you!
I love that you said “I love my art no matter what”!! Listen to this everyone!!
Oh my. I feel like you're speaking directly to me! I have been trying to do a lot of research before painting much. Such a good reminder!
Okay. Just paint tomorrow, see what happens
You should think about grabbing that brush again just for you.
As always words of wisdom I needed to hear. I am so appreciative that you were the first tutor I found when I decided I wanted to learn wc painting. If I would have found some of the other's although very good I would have given up. Thanks so much.
This means the world to me
When i started painting (during the pandemic) I was ignorant enough to just, well, start. I bought supplies off Amazon and just played
I didn't realize there were so many rules.
From not so good at following rules. P.S. I bake the same way. Kind of measure, go by feel. I bake breads every week.
😂 Love this!!!
Some ignorance is good!!
OMG I love this!!! I hadn't thought that muddy water can be a "supply" (I tend to get clean water very frequently), but I'll have to give that a try! I adore this color palette, I love the moody muted tones so much! 🥰
Thanks!
Heck yeah!!! I love your creations and your attitude!!!
Thanks :)
So happy I found you! We all need your enthusiasm in our lives!
Not only in the art side of life 🎉🎉
So true!
It's definitely more fun when done sloppily and mixing on paper. Feels good to let go..... I'm 3 years into my journey. Love your videos. Love your palettes and brushes
It really is!
Looking at my 8, yes 8 mason jars of water…for white for yellow for black for cool, for warm, for purple.🤦🏽♀️ and then a separate one for gouache? Another one for metallics. Stop the madness now! Thank you once again KR !❤️
Bahahaha!!! I would totally mess up that lovely system of yours! I couldn’t keep it straight! Respect!
My neck cramps when I tighten up…so fun, messy, joyful, like a child! I’m in!
Wonderful!
literally girl - you have the most expressive soul & talent that is so beautiful and speaks to me!! I cannot even believe how you prove the beauty, color surprises, and depth that can come from this approach (BTW, I love the painting.) I am just beginning and you make me feel so empowered and so much more free to put the brush to paper and that is how I will learn/discover and grow. And not to mention have joy while doing so [isn't that the whole point of any pursuit?] BOOP, BOOP, BOOP! and TY!
You're the best!
Really needed this... can't wait to do this. I wanted to loosen up. I'm going to replay this when I go to my studio
Glad it was helpful!
I loved the glazing at the very end! Turned out beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
Thinking I could never create a painting like the one you did…..I played a bit with my muddy water and dirty pallet and a few different brushes and I created a pretty cool picture! Hahah. Thanks for the inspiration❤
Breakthroughs are a happening with this video!!! Wahoo!!
How I love your videos! I’m one who changes my water too often I’m sure. Thank you for all you do Kristy!
Always giving you BOOPS ❤❤❤
Love that!
Heck yes! I’m here for it❣❣❣
❤❤❤ Loving it!!! Just what I needed to hear today.
So glad!
I'm in for it! I never have a messy pallet. It gives me anxiety. 😄 But, I'm going to try it. I love this painting!!
Okay please let me know how it goes!
Love watching you creating. Love all your paintings
Thank you! Cheers!
Amen! Sooo refreshing to hear this sermon😅 As a beginner I'm feeling overwhelmed, but this frees me to explore and it's ok to let go and be messy❤
Wonderful!
I love this. I’m excited about learning the process.
Wonderful!
I love 💕 your videos…..I think you are fun and I learn so much from you like press, drag and lift! What else I have learned from you is to have fun and don’t be so critical of my work.Thank you!
I'm so glad!
wow looks like it's finally my year!!
Cheeeers to all this!!
Thank you so much for this and for sharing!!
You are so welcome!
I put my watercolor art supplies away for the first time in almost 5 yrs. Nothing appealed to me. THIS appeals to me! Brush strokes and colors. Might have to unpack those supplies 🙏
Unpack unpack!!!!!! XO
Yes, yes, large a haha moment here....thank you so much! I love to paint but am too tense and wound up. I have a high stress job with a divergent brain. I bet the "get messy" will help my divergent brain during the creative process...which I would suspect change my neuro pathways...thank you (chef's kiss) I love you short tutorials, bite size is great for me
Wow amazing!
Beautiful painting Kristy! I love the colors❤
This is so beautiful! You have shared some really great advice and inspiration
Thank you so much!
Thank you Kristy, needed this right now, love your work and videos!!
So glad!
OMG!!! You have no idea how encouraging this is right now!!! I was in such a rut with my paintbrush!!!
Thank you SO VERY MUCH for this!!! Love this!!! Sooooo needed this today!!! So much!!! 😊😊😊
I'm so glad!
Choosing on purpose. I adore the deep power this phrase holds for us all in any creative journey!
IM HERE FOR ALL OF THIS!!!!!!!!! THE WHOLE VIBE!!!
💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
Kristy I'm just loving your analysis of the beginning watercolorist. I'm she! I find that I don’t start with that perfect clean and organized toolset if you will, I won’t be an able to succeed.
Heck to the yes, Kristy!! ❤
😘😘😘
Wow so lovely! Will have to try to overcome some sensory issues that give me the icks so I can try this! You are not the first one I’ve heard say that being sloppy w watercolor supplies is good, but you are the first one to convince me! Thank you!💖
I hope it brings you some joy!
👍👍👍 I hardly ever clean my palettes, I like my "palette dirt", I always find something useful 😉
So true!
Heck yes!!!!! I just love listening to you Kristy!!!!!
Wow, thank you!
You are so talented! You could paint on a tomato with applesauce and muddy earth and it would be beautiful! I really love these colors my absolute favorite. Gorgeous!
Hahaha!!
Love this!
Awesome! Thanks!
I love everything about this video. I’m super new to watercolor so I’ll need to watch a few more times but I ❤❤❤❤
Welcome to watercolor, this is a good place to begin :)
Fabulous, Kristy! Very timely and that wig is a paid actor.
💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻😘😘
