It was quite enjoyable to be taught with paper and pen instead of a screen.
Exactly!
I'm just add a comment on a paper post-it to say "you're right!"
Exactly. It’s been a loooooooong time we saw a paper and a pen 😁
true
Yea it's kinda cute
I have 10 years IT experience and so far I never bother learning about regex, yet the irony is i almost use it on day to day basis. I simply Google and copy-paste the regex.
Your video helped me understand the basic concept very well!
Where are u working ?
This is the same lol.
I am a developer and IT guy.
RegEx gives me headaches more than anything else.
Overall, it is simple but my memory refuses to accept it lol.
Same thing I always done...
true, there are a lot of templates for regex. Sometimes happen you need to write your own in a specific situation like validation but it's simple case.
Tsk-tsk.
Wow, with a calm voice and temperament, you’ve made it so easy to understand and apply by providing many typical examples....thank you!
Greetings from Bulgaria. So good tutorials and so nice voice. I wish I could give you one thousand likes.
In the second task You have a little bug. The task "only one digit allowed in between" indicates that the last [a-z] should have not * (0 or more) but + (1ore more). Otherwise the digit will not be between the letters. Everything else is just beautifull and simply shown
Yes
Yes
That is what was thinking. Liberating to become the master after 10 minutes of a tutorial.
They should pin this comment
* is for the number of repetitions not for the number of characters for instance [a-z] * simply means it should atleast have 1 character between a to z and * there means 0 and more repetitions are possible do correct me if I'm wrong
I've been struggling with this Regex for many hours , but now its all clear just in 10 minutes .. Thank you
i can't believe i binged watched 5 videos without really understanding more than before, until i had to fall on this video finally
thanks so much, i feel less anxious about my classes lol
Still the best regex tutorial I've encountered so far. Thank you so much! 💜
Well done, i am now getting my staff to do this old school pen and paper to reinforce learning.
at 10:19 ," com " needs regex : [ a - z ] { 2 , 4 } ,as it allowed at least 2 characters and less than 4 characters (as you explained { y , z } earlier ).
here, after dot([\.]) there is only contain ".in" or ".com" :)
Is _abc@gmail.com valid email according to that regex...?
yeah, wanted to ask the same @Abhinav Garg
@@harshitanand8216 yes if u want underscore not to be at first place then use it separately after characters
Thank you so much for this. Simple and clean. What was otherwise a scary topic for a non-geek like me, you have made it sound like its nothing :)
Same for me! When I google searched REGEXP POSTGRESQL, I could hardly understand anything :( This video made it way simpler! :) Thanks a lot! :)
Thank you good explanation.. in 2nd example only one digit allowed in between so we can add {1} after (0-9)

@6:43 should it not be + instead of * because the rule says it DOES Contain lower case, so it should happen one time or more times(the rule for +)? I felt it should be both pluses? Because there has to be a lower and an uppercase (can't be zero, so no *) and there has to be a number in between. So both pluses?
I thought the same
Indeed
so 2 pluses or...
