Hey pal thank you for the info. Have you ever heard of anyone eloping at royal gorge on the bridge? We were thinking October. Surely it could be a bit crowded but that’s just option one. We’ve been to Leadville and brekenridge, just really trying to cross the gorge off of our bucket list. Think it’s a bad idea?
Hey Caleb! I absolutely looove that idea :) Thinking outside of the box like that is great and the royal gorge area is absolutely stunning! If you do decide to go forward with it there I would just check with the Royal Gorge Bridge park as it is privately owned so you may have to get permission. Even if you don’t have your ceremony there I bet they’d be cool with you heading there in your wedding attire before or afterwards. If you have more questions or are looking to have some photos and videos of your epic sounding elopement definitely hit me up at hello@castlehousevideography.com and I can help ya out more too 🤙🏼
I personally just got engaged on the royal gorge train and the staff made it super special and a beautiful experience. It happened outside on one of the open air cars and the scenery was beautiful!
My boyfriend and I will be coming from Tennessee to elope in Colorado! We will be needing a photographer. I was wondering is Garden of the Gods a good place for an elopement? It looks so beautiful! And it’s free :) I am trying to do as much research as possible. I’m trying not to spend as much money on location so we can spend more on photography and activities! It will just be him and I. ( and the photographer ofc) any Advice? Loved this video! Very helpful.
Congratulations! I'm so happy to hear you're eloping in Colorado :) There are a lot of pretty amazing spots here in Colorado to elope and so many fun activities to do along the way so I love that you're choosing to focus on the experience rather the financial investment of a larger venue since it sounds like the traditional wedding experience may not be right for you and your boyfriend. As far as locations go, Garden of the Gods is definitely pretty unique but I'd recommend looking out at some of the more "remote" locations or "unpopular" locations as Garden of the Gods can tend to get pretty crowded. Your photographer and videographer (if you decide to go that route too) will likely be able help you find your location too since a lot of us know the beautiful and uncrowded locations here that can be hard to know about if you're coming from out of state. In terms of paying for locations, it's pretty rare to have to pay for locations to elope here in Colorado if you go for the spots in the wilderness areas/national forests or are willing to hike a short distance. National parks and some state/county parks require permits but it's not usually above like $35 for most places so you'll still be able to save a fair bit of money that can go towards a photographer you connect with! If you have any questions about photography/videography or anything else, feel free to reach out to me at hello@castlehousevideography.com :) Always happy to help!
Hi!! I'm looking to do the same thing in February! Just wondering what you ended up doing? I'm trying to find a place that is no hike/ easy hike with a view. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you
